A/N: hello everyone here's another chapter, I will be uploading one chapter every week on here, while on patreo*n I will try to upload two a day,if not I will have at least one a day, this will allow me to ensure that patreon stays ahead. Ps patreo*n already at chapter 20 for those curious, anyway enjoy the chapter.
----------------------------------------------------------
After celebrating, I head back to the TARDIS. It's time to return the sonic screwdriver, and while I am there, I can do last-minute checks on things as well as see. As I enter, I make my way to the console, putting the screwdriver into the socket.
Just as I was about to leave for the workshop, the Doctor entered the TARDIS "You can use the wardrobe if you want" I turned to face him. I think I can understand why he changes his outfit with each regeneration. It's like a feeling that you can't shake off the clothes you wear to reflect the incarnation. As for me, these human clothes I wore plenty of in my previous life just feel wrong, it's hard to explain. I nod in thanks, heading directly for the wardrobe.
After arriving, I start to look at all the clothes using the mirror to see how each looks. Surprisingly, my choices are similar to Eleven's except there's no bowtie, the waistcoat is black and the Frock coat is also black instead of purple, as for the shirt it's the only piece that can charge when I want to, depending on how I feel currently it's white with blue lines on, the pants, however, share the same color as my frock coat and waistcoat.
Walking back into the control room, I see the doctor talking to Rose. After noticing my arrival, they both look my way "Well, that certainly is an improvement, but I thought you were a mechanic. Aren't those clothes going to get in the way?" I laugh at her words before speaking, "If you think this is a bad, good job, you are not from Gallifrey. Most mechanics wear a sort of robe, but myself, due to my being in constant watch of the council, had to wear the council robes at all times. It's much worse, and these feel right, may, although that may change when I regenerate".
Hearing my response, the Doctor nods, before moving on to the important "Right with that sorted, are you ready? It's time to get you that dying star," I nod before taking a small device from my frock coat pocket. I went to the workshop on the way back to retrieve it.
This was the device to capture the dying star and to start the growth of my TARDIS. It's smaller currently, thanks to dimensional engineering, it can expand to make it bigger, so I can capture the star, but once the process of TARDIS growth starts, there's no stopping it. It's not the only device I take out; I take out a temporary Growth unit, which is also currently in portable mode. This device is the unit that's used to grow My TARDIS, however, this one is the one that's been modified with my teacher's device.
As for the temporary power source for the growth, the Doctor's TARDIS has offered to power the device and my TARDIS while it builds its Eye of Harmony. With everything ready, I watch the Doctor move around the control console pressing buttons and levers that most would be confused about what they do myself, however, know he's putting in the coordinates for where we are going.
After he's done, the TARDIS starts to make the iconic noise, which still causes me to both wince and feel anticipation, I wince because my instincts tell me to hit him on the head for leaving the break on, but my memories of the show give of the wonder and excitement of hearing that sound.
Shaking my head, I bring myself back to the present. No point in thinking about a life I no longer live, right? It does not take us long to arrive in a system with a dying star, landing on a planet that's at the edge of the system before suiting up in space suits and heading outside the TARDIS. The Doctor is carrying cables that connect to the console of his Tardis in his hand as we go through the door.
Once outside, I take the growth machine, place it on the ground, and change it from portable mode to active mode, causing the device to grow at a speed visible to the naked eye until it's bigger than me. Once it stops growing, the top opens to reveal a slot for the TARDIS seed.
After putting the seed in the slot and stepping away, once the device detects the seed, the top closes, and on the side where a smaller device protrudes from the main device, two arm-sized holes appear. Walking up to the device, I ask the doctor to hand me the cables. After getting them, I attach them to the bottom of the device before standing in front of the two arm-sized holes and speaking.
"No one can interrupt the process, no matter what you see, it's going to drain my mechanical force to the point of exhaustion, then stop, let me rest, then the process will repeat till the TARDIS is grown. Also, the main device will get bigger as the TARDIS grows, so do not be surprised by it ".
Both Rose and the Doctor nod. I looked at Rose, I was a little apprehensive about her being here, but the Doctor wanted someone to witness this who was not one of us, something about giving her a glimpse at what the Time Lords could do.
Turning back to the device, I put my arms into the device; luckily, even with the spacesuit, my arms fit, and my mechanical force can be given to the device." The moment my arms are fully in, the device activates and starts drawing the mechanical force from me. The process is not painful at all, just a bit uncomfortable. Unfortunately, that's not all. It's draining. If I had a stamina bar like in the games I used to play, it would also be draining.
The process lasts for a few hours before the draining stops, allowing me to rest, but I keep my arms in the device; they act as a way to prevent the mechanical force from escaping the device and dissipating.
I get about an hour's rest since my mechanical force replenishes at an accelerated rate if not in use. By the estimates, the TARDIS and I did it will take at least 4 cycles of this to complete growth.
Our estimates were right; just after the fourth cycle, the device started to open, revealing a TARDIS in its default appearance. Taking my arms out, I move to the front of the device and press the button that's in the center.
Once the button is pressed, the back of the device opens up, revealing a slide of some kind. The device pushes the TARDIS on it, causing it to slide down, landing on the ground behind the device. Once the TARDIS is down on the ground, the device starts to close back up, then shrinks back to its portable size.
The cable that was once attached to the device is now lying on the ground, bending down, grabbing the cables, I move with a quick pace towards my new TARDIS, since I am on a limited time, I have about 4 hours before I need to go into a recovery sleep or risk regeneration.
Once I am in front of the New TARDIS, I channel what mechanical force I have left into the door mechanism, opening it. Moving directly to the console cables in hand, I connect them to the console. As I do, I feel something trying to connect to my mechanical force, I let it connect, knowing it's the living essence of this new TARDIS, this is the reason why a mechanical force user is needed in the creation of a new TARDIS, currently, there's no power it needs mechanical force to survive.
Of course, there's a way to use mechanical force via a machine, but a TARDIS made this way is more like a soulless machine since artificial methods lack the touch of emotion that a user would have.
Once the connection is made, I feed my mechanical energy into the TARDIS while I finish attaching the cables to the console. Once done, energy starts to feed the TARDIS. Looking at the display on the console, I can see that the TARDIS has started the production of the Eye of Harmony.
It takes about an hour for the Eye of Harmony to finish and be placed in the power room, with the Eye done I look to a compartment below the console and open it up to a large thick cable inside, this cable connects directly to the eye, despite its size the inside of the cable is far bigger than the size of the cables.
It is this cable that connects to the device used to capture the dying star. As for why this cable is not removed after that, it's because it's used to put black holes into the Eye of Harmony, in case you need to have some extra power.
It's rarely ever used. I exit my TARDIS before signaling the Doctor to go into his TARDIS and pull mine close to the dying star so I can capture it using the device, unfortunately, the device will be ruined after, but I only need it once.
Once my TARDIS is close enough, I open the door, taking the device before throwing it outside. It quickly deploys, at full size, it connects the port for the cable is right in front of my TARDIS door, so I quickly connect the cable before I start to experience a headache, meaning I am approaching my deadline. Luckily, once the cable is connected, the rest is handled by my TARDIS.
Walking towards the console, I sit down right in front of it. Slowly but surely, my vision starts to go black" My job's done now, I will enter rest now. Let the Doctor know I will see him when I wake, and not to get into too much trouble while I am asleep, ok? We will speak more when I wake". Not long later, I fall into a restorative sleep.
