Chapter 275 - Chapter 275: After Tonight

After the three entered the venue, Ethan felt like his arms were about to be bruised from all the pinching.

The two women were at each other's throats, and he was the one suffering for it.

Fortunately, since they were surrounded by familiar celebrities, they couldn't openly argue. As soon as Ethan let go of them, they each went off to find people they knew to chat with.

By the time the fashion exhibition ended, both Taylor and Scarlett wanted to go home with Ethan. However, after searching for a while, they discovered that he had already left early.

This left the two women frustrated, and they exchanged murderous glares.

As a result, Ethan suffered for a while after that. Taylor and Scarlett took turns seeking him out—one inviting him to a concert, the other wanting to go shopping—both seemingly afraid that he would be taken away by the other.

Ethan had no choice but to do his best to keep both of them company.

Luckily, the filming of Lucy 2 started soon, and Ethan finally got to leave New York, taking the crew—and Scarlett—to the filming location in Italy.

When Taylor heard about this, she blew up at Ethan over the phone and then angrily hung up.

Ethan just shrugged—he had expected this reaction. Taylor had the temperament of a young girl, so he had already asked Jimmy to deliver some gifts to her.

After arriving in Italy, the production team rented out a large cathedral. The scenes in Lucy 2 were more fragmented than before because they covered multiple time periods, involving numerous lead actors and supporting roles.

However, Ethan's team had worked together many times, and they were highly experienced in handling large-scale productions. There wasn't much for Ethan to worry about.

The only major difference this time was the increase in costume and prop designs, along with a greater demand for 3D visual effects. Industrial Light & Magic was fully prepared to handle the workload.

Meanwhile, as Ethan was busy filming, Taylor wasn't idle either. After releasing her new single, she booked a flight to Italy and headed straight to his set.

By the time Ethan received her call, she was already at the filming location.

Seeing this, Ethan sighed. He could already tell that more trouble was coming his way.

"Ethan!"

On the street outside the cathedral, Taylor, wearing a bright yellow dress and oversized sunglasses, ran up to him and hugged him tightly. "Aren't you surprised?"

"I'm very surprised, babe. But… you just flew over here like that? Won't your manager be worried?" Ethan looked at the radiant girl in his arms, feeling a little helpless.

"Worried? Why? Is he supposed to manage my love life now? Or does he think he can tell his boss what to do?" Taylor took his hand and walked with him. "I just felt like I haven't spent enough time with you. I kept making you accompany me before, so now it's my turn to keep you company."

"You're so thoughtful." Ethan put an arm around Taylor's shoulders and led her toward the film set.

Luckily, Scarlett wasn't filming today and was resting at the hotel. Otherwise, there was no telling what kind of conflict would break out if she saw Taylor.

"But babe, I have filming to do later. What's your plan?"

Taylor thought for a moment. "Where's your hotel? Should I just wait for you there?"

"That sounds way too boring. How about this—you'll stick with me, and I'll say that you're here for inspiration, researching the storyline for the theme song." Ethan didn't want Taylor wandering around Italy alone, so he decided to keep her close.

"Really?" Taylor's eyes lit up with joy. She had come all this way just to see Ethan and didn't want to be separated. Seeing that he wasn't trying to avoid her, she couldn't hold back her smile.

"Then I'll be your little shadow today."

"Damn, if all shadows were this cute, I'd consider myself the luckiest guy alive."

"Haha."

When they returned to the set, Ethan introduced Taylor to the crew.

In truth, an introduction wasn't really necessary. Taylor Swift's name was already becoming well-known in America, and many people loved her music. Plenty of crew members were excited to see her, with some even letting out excited cheers.

However, out of respect (and maybe a little fear) for Ethan, no one dared to ask for a photo with her during filming.

And so, while Ethan directed the shoot, Taylor sat in a director's chair nearby, gazing at him intently.

No matter what Ethan did, Taylor reacted with admiration. Even the other crew members could sense the strong chemistry between them.

It wasn't until filming wrapped for the day and Ethan left the set that the crew finally had the courage to approach Taylor for photos.

After taking a few pictures, Taylor made her way to a car parked outside the cathedral. Knocking on the driver's window, she playfully asked, "Hey, handsome, mind giving me a ride?"

"Of course, hop in." Ethan rolled down the window and responded. Taylor immediately opened the door and got in.

"So, where to, miss?" Ethan asked as he started the car.

"Anywhere. Just take me for a drive, handsome." Taylor laughed at her own words, then removed her sunglasses and added, "I want to see the ocean."

"No problem." Ethan steered the car toward the coast. "How long are you staying?"

"Three days? No, five days." Taylor shook her head, giving herself a few extra days. "And you have to spend those five days with me."

"No problem." Ethan knew that if he didn't indulge this little troublemaker, she'd definitely throw another fit. So he agreed without hesitation.

"That b*tch," Taylor suddenly muttered. "She actually let me come here?"

For some reason, she didn't have such strong animosity toward other women—but when it came to Scarlett, she just couldn't stand her.

"Don't talk like that, Taylor. She actually wants to be friends with you," Ethan tried to ease the tension.

Taylor snorted. "Her? More like she wants me gone."

"Forget about her, babe. I made reservations at a great restaurant—your favorite, French cuisine." Ethan quickly changed the subject.

"Really? That's awesome!" At the mention of food, Taylor immediately stopped thinking about Scarlett and focused entirely on dinner.

Soon, they arrived at a seaside restaurant and enjoyed a delicious meal together.

Afterward, they took a walk along the shore.

By then, the sky had darkened, a deep blue canvas stretching across the horizon, studded with twinkling stars that reflected over the sea.

Taylor gazed at this scene, her mood becoming much more serene. She linked arms with Ethan and walked slowly along the sandy shore, unconcerned about the presence of other tourists.

However, despite her growing fame in America, she wasn't yet as well-known in other countries.

And with the dim lighting, no one seemed to recognize the famous singer here.

Ethan, on the other hand, wore a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, with his hair tied back. No one recognized the internationally renowned director either.

"Ethan, this feeling is wonderful," Taylor said, enjoying the sea breeze while strolling.

Ethan chuckled and said, "If I retire one day, I could buy a small island. That way, an entire beach would belong only to us."

"Retire? Isn't it too early for that?" Taylor tilted her head, looking up at the starry sky. "I think I'll never retire in my lifetime."

"Oh? Even when you're seventy or eighty, you'll still be performing concerts?"

"Wouldn't that be cool?" Taylor envisioned the future. "I believe that even by then, I'll still be beautiful."

"Yeah, you're right. That would be amazing—standing on stage while maintaining your best form." Ethan knew Taylor wasn't the type to settle down at home. She had little interest in children or daily life's trivial matters. To her, only two things truly mattered:

Music and love.

Especially the former, which was vital to her. That was why Ethan always respected her decisions regarding her albums.

"For my next album, I want to change my musical style. But my producer rejected the idea. Ethan, do you think I should continue with country music?"

Ethan smiled and said, "Why stick to just one style? People change, and so does music. If your producer thinks you shouldn't switch styles, then change your producer."

"Really? You actually agree with me?" Taylor was surprised. "But if I do this and fail, what if my album doesn't sell well?"

"So what? Does album sales define your music?" Ethan said seriously. "I don't think so, Taylor. Music shouldn't be dictated by business, and neither should art. Repeating the same thing over and over—no one wants to buy that.

The real path of art is to challenge yourself and strive for success."

"Taylor, you know I've always believed you will succeed."

Hearing these words, Taylor fell silent for a moment. Then, the corners of her lips curved into a beautiful smile.

"Ethan, being with you feels so good. You always understand what I want."

She stopped walking, wrapped her arms around Ethan's neck, and gazed at him with dreamy eyes.

The sea breeze tousled her hair, and her strands intertwined with his.

They stared deeply into each other's eyes before finally kissing.

At that moment, the moon slowly hid behind the clouds, as if it was shy about witnessing this scene.

"How could I ever leave you, Ethan?" Taylor murmured like a dream, her lips barely parting from his.

"I never bound you," Ethan said, holding her soft waist.

"Yes... but I don't want to leave." Taylor rested her chin on his shoulder. "You're such a terrible man. You stole my heart and keep hurting it."

"That's right, I'm utterly unforgivable." Ethan nodded slightly. "So, how do you plan to punish me?"

"Breaking up—would that be enough?" Taylor suddenly spoke with a serious expression. "After tonight, let's break up. How about that?"

Ethan gently touched her cheek. "Why?"

"Not telling you," Taylor refused to answer.

"Then I won't let you go tonight," Ethan leaned in and whispered in her ear.

The next second, Taylor's ears turned red, her legs weakened, and she fell into his arms, biting his neck lightly with her small teeth.

"I won't let you go either."

The next day, when Ethan woke up, Taylor was still in deep sleep.

This little minx talked big, but when it came to the real action, she couldn't keep up.

Ethan had pushed her to her limits, leaving her completely exhausted, limp, and powerless.

However, it wasn't that she lacked endurance. In fact, her desires were quite strong, even surpassing Avril's.

The main reason was that Ethan's stamina was far beyond ordinary. Especially after a year of intense leg and glute training, his endurance had reached an inhuman level.

Seeing Taylor sleeping soundly, Ethan pinched her cheek and got up to prepare breakfast for her.

Filming wouldn't begin until the afternoon, so he had plenty of time.

While cooking, Ethan thought about Taylor's sudden breakup proposal.

He didn't believe she truly wanted to break up. It was likely just a spur-of-the-moment decision.

The real answer would probably reveal itself later.

Twenty minutes later, breakfast was ready.

When Ethan returned to the room, he saw Taylor rubbing her messy hair, looking around in a daze.

When she saw him, she finally smiled.

"Good morning."

"Good morning, sweetheart. Have some milk."

Ethan handed her a cup.

Taylor gulped it down in one go before collapsing back onto the bed lazily. "Ugh, so tired. I feel like I didn't sleep enough."

"Well, you provoked me last night," Ethan chuckled, recalling how Taylor, despite being exhausted, still talked tough, which only made him go at her even harder.

In the end, she was so drained that she finally begged for mercy.

Taylor pursed her lips in dissatisfaction. "It's all your fault, Ethan. I originally planned to wake up before you and leave dramatically. But now, I ended up sleeping until noon. No, I have to go right now!"

Ethan calmly set the plates on the table, placing the golden, crispy toast and fragrant eggs neatly. "You can leave after breakfast. No rush."

Taylor leaped up from the bed, glanced at her scattered clothes on the floor, then at the food on the table.

A low rumble came from her stomach.

"…Fine! I'll eat first."

She stopped overthinking and sat down, devouring the meal.

She even forgot to put on any clothes.

At this moment, she was still bare-skinned from just waking up.

Ethan sat back in his chair, slowly peeling an orange while enjoying the sight of Taylor's beautiful figure.

After finishing her meal, Taylor took a quick shower, then got dressed to leave.

Standing at the door, she looked back at Ethan.

"From today on, we're breaking up."

"Yes, we've broken up," Ethan said with a slight smile. "So?"

"So, you have nothing to do with me anymore. That's right, you can go find those other women now.

So sad.

Yeah, this is the feeling."

Taylor muttered to herself as she pushed open the door and left, mumbling lyrics under her breath.

Ethan raised an eyebrow.

He seemed to have figured out what she was up to.

He picked up his phone and called the head of Angel Declaration.

"For Taylor's next album, let her go with the style she wants. Find a new producer—the best. She can choose whoever she wants."

"Also, start arranging a global tour for her. Taylor needs a new stage."

"Who's directing it? Of course, I am."
