All them looked at Michael with fear evident in their eyes. They didn't even see his hand move and yet he had killed the old priest that had been an awakened for years. Then when he further disappeared, they lost it and wanted to run mad.
Michael appeared several hundred meters away. The shadow movement could not take him to far away. It still had a limit and he was grateful that it took him this far.
He shook his hand and blood dripped to the ground. His face still had the chilling gaze and his expression was nonchalant.
In truth, it didn't take too much strength to kill the priest. He had already guessed the people of this realm wouldn't be as strong as even the most ordinary beast back on earth.
But even he was not expecting his fist to go through the old man's chest. It didn't even put up any resistance.
"Is it because of the system?" He flexed his arm but it didn't feel any stronger. He felt like normal. He tried to ask the system but it ignored him.
He saw a stream nearby and decided to wash his hand of the now dried blood. When he looked at his reflection, he was shocked. He still looked like himself but, he looked very handsome.
With black hair and dark eyes. His face as smooth as a new born baby and porcelain doll. He looked like a model and he couldn't help but check himself out.
'Is this my real appearance or is this the body of the guy am possessing?' He asked himself but could still see faint resemblance to his normal self. But now he looked matured and manly.
He already knew the answer and didn't bother about thinking of it anymore but surprisingly, the system answered him this time.
{Host is in a body that existed centuries agao, but your body is the same but altered to fit the requirements.}
'Cool. Wait what did you mean by altered to fit the requirements?' He asked but the system didn't care about answering him anymore.
'This system needs mental guidance'. He sighed and thought of his next move in case the human in this trial came to look for him.
They looked very frightened about his shadow powers manifesting. They really were ancient to not know that the shadows were also an ability.
'Bunch of ignorant fools'. He laid curses upon their entire families and future generations that were yet to come. He cursed them to weird events and sickness and supernatural disasters.
The heard a small gasp and saw a little rabbit that was drinking water from the stream gasp when it heard his curses.
Michael gave it a small evil smile before making a gesture that he would kill it if it said anything. 'Wait did it understand me?' The rabbit seemed even more afraid and made to run but Michael gave chase.
It ended up in his hand after several long minutes of chasing. The rabbit quivered in his hands, clearly afraid of Michael.
"Is this thing not tired from all the running?" He said in an out of breath voice when he saw the rabbit still breathing normally lie it had not been chased by him.
It was a surprising thing, for a creature as small as this to be more fit than Michael who had already Awakened his ability.
"I have no intention in hurting you, but only if you answer my questions". The rabbit shivered when it heard his threat and started kowtowing Michael in a bid to make him release it.
'This proves that it can understand me. But can it talk?'
He tried several ways of making the rabbit talk but all it did was quuver and shiver and then kowtow when he threatened it.
Overall, for an animal of its size it was quite intelligent. "They would soon come for me, time to leave this place. And you are coming with me". Michael said as he brought the rabbit with him on the fugitive run.
The sun was starting to set and it made for an amazing view which he had to sit and watch. 'The only enjoyable thing in the forest'. He sighed inwardly.
The rabbit was let go but it still chose to stay close to Michael. Now it was laying comfortably by the side also seeing to enjoy the sunset with him.
When he looked at it, it gave him a weird gaze before sticking out its tongue at him in jest and a little cheekiness.
'Is this thing really just a beast?' He asked when he saw the human emotions it displayed on its furry white face. It seemed to enjoy making fun at him.
After the amazing sun set, he grabbed the rabbit again and ran deeper into the forest. And soon discovering another ancient temple.
But this one seemed to be in an even more dilapidated state and it had even sunken into the ground.
The area around the temple was covered in fog and he couldn't see much. They were many broken constructions but they didn't seem to disintegrate after the passage if time.
When the moon was now high in the sky, Michael started to hear the cries and howls of many creatures he would have rather not seen.
The sounds seemed to be getting closer by the minute and Michael was started to feel unsafe now.
Despite the fact he could see in darkness, for some reason he couldn't see any of the creatures and only their weird shapes that was sure to put fear into the heart of anyone.
Their sounds were getting extremely close now and he felt they were all around him. The fog was also becoming denser as well.
The rabbit was shivering like it had been submerged inside freezing cold water. It looked at Michael with a begging gaze like they should get out of here and couldn't help but agree but he didn't know where he should go.
The fog had become very dense now and he couldn't even see metered in front of him now. He suddenly remembered the temple that was in front of them.
As much as he didn't want to enter another teme again especially one in such a bad shape and scary as heck but he didn't have much of a choice now did he.
He raced in the direction of the temple and very soon he saw the broken structures. For some reason, the fog didn't come close to the temple and stayed some distance away. That made him feel relaxed for a second before his vigilance shot up even higher.
For the fog not to venture near the temple meant that something even more scary was there. He gritted his teeth and continued.
He would still die anyways he he decided to stay out in the open. The broken temple was his best option and if he didn't meet any scary existence, maybe he could hide and get the f*ck out in the morning.
