Felix stepped into Katherine's apartment and was instantly tackled by two sets of arms.
"Uncle Felix!" Maya squealed, gripping his legs. Nathan echoed her excitement, already pulling him toward the living room.
"Whoa—easy, tigers," Felix laughed, ruffling Nathan's hair as he walked further inside.
From the kitchen, Katherine turned to glance over her shoulder. "You're early," she said, smiling—but Felix saw the crack in her expression, a flicker of stress just behind her eyes.
"Didn't want to miss the famous Katherine Anderson breakfast," he quipped, casually setting his bag down. "Smells like steak and eggs. Am I right?"
"Close," Katherine chuckled, brushing her hair behind her ear as she flipped something in the pan. "It's just scrambled eggs, toast, and those little sausages you like."
He smiled, stepping next to her and picking up a plate. "You make them taste like magic. Let me help."
