Sunny opened his eyes. He could feel restraints around his limbs, keeping him in place. The ceiling of the police station wasn't incredibly beautiful, but the sight of a ceiling above his head almost made him shed a tear.
'I wasn't dreaming all this time. I am actually in SS.'
What a blessing! He isn't dead!
'Wait, I am Sunny….it's not a blessing, it's a damn curse.'
Anyway, suddenly, life wasn't so bad for him.
He slowly looked down and froze.
On a cheap plastic chair placed beside his reinforced metal bed sat the most beautiful woman he had ever seen...in both lives.
'Wait Jet? Master Jet? Oh no no…..'
She had short, raven-black hair and icy blue eyes. Her flawless skin was smooth, supple, and white as snow.
Master Jet seemed to be in her late twenties. She was wearing a dark blue uniform with silver epaulets and black leather boots. The jacket of her uniform was casually unbuttoned, revealing a black tank top beneath.
Sunny continued to watch, mesmerized.
Currently, she was stretching her arms above her head, clearly bored and sleepy. The gesture forced the thin fabric to tighten, provocatively accentuating her full brea- uhhhhhh.
Sunny forcefully tore his gaze, understanding the gravity of the situation he was in.
Under the pressure of his first nightmare, he totally forgot that Master Jet would be meeting him after he completed his trail.
Sunny once again looked at her, this time with caution.
She was looking at him too.
"What were you looking at?" she said, not a gram of humor in her voice.
Sunny tried to keep his mouth closed, buying as much time as possible. At one point, the weird pressure on his head grew so much that it actually started to hurt.
"Your breasts."
His voice was weak, and his already pale face got even paler.
To his defense, he tried his best to say, "You."
It's just that he was interacting with his flaw for the first time, and his mind was not just in the right place, and her breast was als----uhhhhhhh.
Thankfully, the slap came at the right moment, taking him out of his dream.
At least he was prepared for the impact.
Master Jet cleared her throat and crossed her arms.
"Are you awake now?"
Sunny meekly nodded.
"Good. Let me give you a piece of advice: don't just say anything that comes to mind. Especially to girls. It's not like you haven't seen a girl before, right?"
Sunny was prepared this time; his brain was finally in the right place.
"Yes, I have seen."
The women looked at him amusingly, then slowly burst into laughter.
Giving him a thorough look, she said,
"Well, welcome back to the land of living. Congratulation on surviving the first nightmare, Sleeper Sunless."
Sunny was already looking around the room to see if there was a gun nearby.
***
Master Jet stood up, approached the metal bed, and began to undo the restraints with practiced move.
No offense to the girls of his normal earth; they wouldn't hold a candle if they were compared with the beautiful woman currently undoing his restraints.
'Perks of awakening, huh. Damnit, it's not fair at all.'
Well, he is in the safe; after all, the winter soloistic is just around the corner.
Sunny opened his mouth to speak.
"Master Jet, I have a question."
"Hmm?"
"Why would a master be put on watch duty, isn't that umm, below your pay grade?"
Jet gave him a dark look.
"You're smarter than you seem. Recently, a lot of gates have opening in this sector-----"
The conversation went on. He knew the words to speak by heart.
***
Sunny was currently enjoying a hot shower. Looking up, he saw himself in the mirror.
'This Sunny guy is really, really pale.'
He needed to check if sunlight caused him any discomfort. He might be a vampire.
He suddenly remembered a line said by Master Jet in the novel.
'"By awakened standard, I am below average,"- my ass.'
He could see his shadow moving out of the corner of his eye.
He will deal with it after reaching the academy.
He needs to think about something.
He wanted to conduct a Perfect-run, a loop where everything would be perfect and everyone significant to him would be alive.
Maybe trying to save all the civilians in Antarctica.
But that would require a lot of restarts. Could he save his sanity by doing this?
The trial is already completed to perfection. After a while, everything will become repetitive and boring and won't hold any meaning to him.
After all, it's not like he can create a new restart point like the MC's in these time-loop novels.
Wait, he hasn't tried it.
Sunny shook his head. There is no way it's happening.
Nonetheless, he tried.
"...…"
"...…"
Anyway, how to create a new save point?
He wrapped a towel around him after left the shower.
He suddenly stooped in his tracks, an idea popped up in his head.
'Uhh, create new respawn point. New saveeee point?'
Then it happened; he felt it, and a ripple shook his entire body. He lost his balance. It almost felt like a silent, unassuming wave that just traveled across the entire universe.
'Wait, no. It cannot be. No way.'
The conversation with Master Jet!!!!
He immediately summoned his only weapon memory, and drove it across his neck.
Sunny was dead.
Then Sunny was standing in the temporary room given to him by the police station.
Sunny again summoned his only weapon memory, and drove it across his neck.
Sunny was dead.
Then Sunny was once again standing in the temporary room given to him by the police.
He slowly fell to his knees.
'Shit.'
Well, no shit. Actually, it was good news. He can now create a checkpoint once he feels like there is nothing more to improve in a particular arc. It would save him some time, and maybe even his sanity.
'Anyway, damn.'
