When Fu Shinian finished talking with Su Shiyue and returned to the room, Su Mu had already finished washing up, but she wasn't lying in bed to rest; instead, she was standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, staring out at the scenery in a daze. He stood at the doorway for a long time watching her, and Su Mu didn't notice it at all, nor did she turn around.
Fu Shinian knew her heart was in turmoil, so he didn't speak, heading straight for the bathroom. When he came out again, Su Mu had already taken a seat on the edge of the bed, and on the nightstand, there was a box of cigarettes. Su Mu also had one in her hand, yet it wasn't lit.
He walked over and sat down beside her, reaching out to take the cigarette from her hand, and Su Mu smiled faintly:
"I didn't smoke."
"I didn't even know we had this kind of thing in the bedroom."
