Uchiha Madara closed his eyes slightly, deep in thought.
In less than fifteen minutes, nearly ten thousand shinobi had been annihilated.
To be honest, from Madara's point of view, even if there were ten thousand pigs running freely on the plain, with Konoha's strength it would take at least a couple of hours to catch them all…
As for eliminating shinobi below the Jonin level, Uchiha Madara is willing to call Kazuki the strongest.
"Ten thousand... ten thousand..." Madara shook his head, feeling a slight headache. "How the hell can he kill so many?"
There was a time when Madara worried about Kazuki's kind nature, fearing that his sunny and optimistic nature would make him unable to accept the Eye of the Moon Plan. He thought that it would take a devastating war to harden his heart and turn him into the savior of the world.
But now he realized that he had seriously underestimated the situation.
It wasn't the war that was shaping Kazuki...
It was Kazuki who was shaping the war!
Madara brought his hand to his forehead, feeling a mix of disbelief and resignation.
The Eye of the Moon Plan was intended to bring eternal peace to the world, not turn the world into a barren landscape!
According to Kazuki's method and speed, Madara suspects that perhaps in a few years, the shinobi world will only have Konoha as the only village left...
He was obviously a kind and good-hearted child, and even a bit foolish to believe in something as simplistic as the will of fire, how has he changed so much after stepping onto the battlefield?
"Damn Senju Tobirama, you have had too much influence on Kazuki..."
He remembered Tobirama's huge chibi puppet, and wanted to laugh, but couldn't. Madara sighed. "This can't continue. Furthermore, it seems that Kazuki is also interested in the Tailed Beasts' chakra… which complicates things even further."
Madara had clearly seen how Kazuki drew large amounts of chakra from the Four and Five-Tails Jinchuriki, before finishing them off without hesitation.
As a result, both Tailed Beasts would now enter their reincarnation phase.
"His way of thinking… It's almost identical to the one I had in the past." Madara let out a long sigh. "He must believe that with enough power he can unify the Four Great Shinobi Villages and merge them into one… that absolute strength will bring about peace."
"But that's an illusion. He still has very little experience, just like I did back then..."
Just then, an arrogant voice interrupted his thoughts.
Obito, who had undergone reconstruction with a White Zetsu and had regained his mobility, appeared at the door and shouted proudly, "Haha! Are you talking about Kazuki? I knew that even though you are a stubborn old man, you still have a good eye for recognizing greatness!"
"So you want to get Kazuki involved in your peace plan as well?" Obito said with a smirk. "Don't tell me you didn't just try to get the idea of that plan onto me, but now you want to convince him as well."
"Forget it, old man. Kazuki is not like me. He hasn't been pushed to the limit, he hasn't been cornered… He is truly powerful! Come on, Madara, stop clinging to your outdated idea. If you want, I can talk to him and convince him to take you back. Together, we can build a new shinobi world. Doesn't that sound better?"
"Trust me, Kazuki has the ambition and ability to do it. Just stop resisting and accept reality."
Obito winked, acting like he had a privileged relationship with Kazuki, like he had great backing.
Madara looked at him coldly. Just as he was about to scold him, he unconsciously thought of the scene of conquering the shinobi world with Kazuki. He blinked for a moment and entered the fantasy time...
If that was the case… it didn't sound so bad?
But Uchiha Madara reacted immediately, sneered and waved his hand: "Too superficial, Uchiha Obito. What you see is just the surface."
Madara wanted to laugh. With Obito's brain, did he really want to use Kazuki to rebel against him?
Ridiculous. Although he had to admit that the scene Obito was describing didn't sound so bad.
"Do you think the unification of the five shinobi villages is the end? No. The fighting will never stop." Madara said coldly, his eyes sharp as blades. "Infighting will continue to exist. You know well of the conflict between the Hokage faction and the Uchiha clan. If it weren't for Kazuki's appearance, the Uchiha's final fate would have been annihilation."
"Other villages are no different. Look at Kinkaku and Ginkaku, who tried to usurp power by assassinating the Second Raikage… oh, right, they also killed Senju Tobirama."
"And then there's the Blood Mist of Kirigakure… isn't that even more cruel than a conventional war?"
"Even within the Uchiha clan, power struggles have always existed. You can check the records: when the Izanagi was created, there was a time when clan members slaughtered each other."
"All this proves that peace cannot be achieved by mere brute force."
Obito opened his mouth, wanting to refute him, but in the end he remained silent. Madara was telling the truth, and he knew it.
Still, after thinking about it for a moment, he insisted, "But Kazuki is different! He is special!"
"What you say may be true for others, but Kazuki could achieve it."
Madara couldn't help but laugh. Even though Obito wasn't exactly brilliant, he at least had the eye to recognize Kazuki's potential.
"I also believe that Kazuki can do it." Madara nodded, admitting it, but then added, "But only to a certain extent. While he lives, he can bring temporary peace, but when he dies, everything will return to how it was. The shinobi world will not change. It will be as if nothing had happened."
"While Hashirama was alive, no one dared to provoke a war, not even when he was already sick from our battle. But after his death… the First Great Shinobi War broke out."
"Boy, I'm looking for eternal peace, not a passing mirage."
Madara looked at Obito and shook his head in contempt.
Obito remained silent. He pondered Madara's words, frowning deeply.
It sounds like it really makes sense...
No matter how strong Kazuki is, he can't live forever...
If Kazuki dies...
The mere thought of it made a cold sweat run down Obito's back.
It was no longer just about the future of the shinobi world… not even the fragile truce between Konoha and the Uchiha would hold. Everything would return to how it was before: a cold war and, eventually, open repression.
Obito looked at Madara with a new feeling: genuine respect.
Obito was going to continue asking Madara, but suddenly the image of Rin smiling appeared in his mind.
And in an instant, all those grand ideas about saving the world and achieving eternal peace vanished as if they had never existed.
To hell with it all. Better to find Rin and have some fun with her. Who cares about being a savior?
Madara was just an old man in a cave, delirious before he died.
Obito took a breath and stated firmly, "Madara, I'm calmer than ever. I appreciate you saving me, but I have my own life. I'm not interested in your plan."
Looking directly at him, he added, "When are you going to let me go? I want to go back to Konoha. I want to see Rin."
Madara watched him silently, then smiled disdainfully. "If that's what you want, then go." He paused, then added, his voice full of certainty: "But… you'll be back."
...
Madara coldly watched Obito's retreating figure and let out a mocking smile.
Just as expected, someone with his brain would not wake up without first suffering a devastating blow.
However, Madara had seen too many Uchiha with a personality similar to Obito's throughout his life, so he didn't give it much thought.
If Uchiha Rin was the anchor of Obito's life, then Black Zetsu's parting words, that wish to see peace, would be enough...
"Peace is never an easy thing to achieve, let alone an eternal peace." Madara muttered to himself. "Do you really think that within your own side there will be no betrayal? I will show you what disloyalty is within one's own clan."
"Uchiha Setsuna killed Uchiha Rin. You must like this plot, right? Uchiha Obito…"
In the empty cave, after Obito's departure, Madara covered himself in White Zetsu's armor. His intention was to transform his former follower into a simple puppet immersed in his genjutsu.
Only by experiencing pain firsthand would Obito understand that momentary peace is only a fleeting illusion. The true eternal solution was the Eye of the Moon Plan.
As for how to make Kazuki understand...
Madara still had no super strategy in place. First, he had to make sure Obito was completely on his side, recover the Rinnegan, and then negotiate with Kazuki from a position of strength.
He had to advance step by step, without haste but without pause.
After the situation became chaotic due to Kazuki's stirring, Uchiha Madara's mentality became stable.
He was a patient man. His own experience, awakening the Rinnegan on the brink of death, taught him that there was always a chance to change one's fate... as long as one didn't give up.
