In the Serpent Empire's grand library, Charles and Zara were reading Underground River Exploration Records.
Zara's previous description had been accurate. According to the book's records, the two paths at the fork they had previously reached led to very dangerous places.
One of these was the underground lake filled with cursed power, while the other led to the gathering place of the Sandworms.
"Sandworms are terrifying creatures. They eat anything. They usually live underground, but come out to move around when it rains or at night. The Serpents are all very afraid of Sandworms," Zara quickly explained.
As she spoke, there was clear fear in her eyes.
"My parents were eaten by Sandworms. After becoming the Empress's guard, I encountered them on the battlefield as well. These Sandworms are enormous, and they're so elusive that it's almost impossible to track them down."
Zara's words piqued Charles's curiosity.
