Each layer of the staircase contained a part of the Formation, and although Sun Wukong had the Void-Breaking Divine Eye, unraveling the Formation on the entire staircase all at once was still too difficult and too consuming!
Sun Wukong chose to unravel the Formation one layer at a time and stepped forward progressively. As for whether the Formations would restore themselves after he passed, that wasn't for Sun Wukong to worry about.
An hour later, Sun Wukong stepped onto the Eighth Layer of the Heavenly Emperor's Treasure Vault, his eyes widening instantly. This Eighth Layer was much larger than the previous seven layers!
