Chapter 9
It has been two days since we arrived on this destroyed land, we decided to help them as quickly as we could, and after two intense days we decided to leave the barony
Grey who was seeing Oliver's party off showed his gratitude towards them for helping them when they were in a rush, merlin replied his gratitude " oh no, it's us who should be thanking you for providing us with the resources even in such circumstances"
Lisa who was standing silently beside Merlin, said
"It's time now, let's go or we will be late for the entrance exams"
They all then thanked Grey and left the domain
Grey was looking at Merlin with serious eyes, he stopped when Liza stood beside him
She asked him "Did you confirm it" to which he replied "Yes it is confirmed" Liza then said with an expressionless face
"It truly unfortunate that the queen of the sea, Vandrot has betrayed the organization" Liza then turned back and started to leave while leaving she said to Grey
" I'm now going to report it to the dark Emperor, make sure I'm left undisturbed"
to which Grey replies "Yes, I understand Queen Aeitr"

Kerma expedition which was going towards the Roinwalla, was now only a day away from its destination and was camping through the night
Riley was preparing for entrance exams so was Sreya but Lugh was sitting near a lake
he heard footsteps coming from behind, though he wasn't concerned since he knew who that was, he called that person without turning back
" I thought you were studying" The person behind Lugh walks towards him sits near and says
"I'm kinda taking a break right now"
There was silence for a while, both of them didn't say a word
Lugh broke the silence "Sreya, do u have something that you want to ask me"
Sreya was surprised that Lugh knew why she came here, but she says
" yes, I do have something I want to ask you, will you answer it"
" I will answer it if I can"
"no! Promise me!"
Lugh thought to himself
[ she will not ask about my past, so, there is nothing that I have to hide from her]
Lugh then says "ok I promise you that I will answer it if It's in my knowledge "
"OK, I want to know about Everything that you know about the Volcis church
Lugh choked on air when he heard this
[ what!!, I never expected her to ask me such a question]
"Before I tell you about that, tell me why you asked me"
" I initially asked Riley and I found nothing new from him, so, he told me to ask you, he told me that I would come to know something very interesting"
Lugh thought [That punk how dare he do this to me]
He sighed and started talking
"According to the promise, I will tell all that I know about the church"
" Sreya, First, let me ask you who the church worships"
"The one who they worship is God of kindness derga right?"
Lugh then asks again
"Then tell me Sreya, who is Derga and what do u know about him"
Sreya was confused as to why Lugh was asking such questions but she replied
" he is a god that embodies kindness, he is a merciful God"
Lugh who listened to Sreya said
"If you go back in the history, no matter how deep in the history you go, There has never been a God Derga"
Sreya looked at Lugh, with a bewildered expression
" what do you mean???"
"There was never a God named Derga, but, there was someone else who was known as Derga, someone very dangerous, do you want to know who that is?"
Sreya was perplexed, she didn't know if what he was saying was true or not, but if it was true, then was it right for her to know such a truth
She sat there completely confused because she knew that what Lugh was saying was true, after a while she concluded, she took in a deep breath and said
"I want to know who that is" to which Lugh said, "Are you sure?"
"Yes I'm sure"
"Then I'll continue, Derga is none other than the Demon king"
Sreya's eyes completely widened with shock and she was speechless
Sreya noticed that Lugh grabbed her shoulder, and he was worried so he was sitting close to her, so, when she turned her head towards him, his and her faces came very close, Sreya's confused face vanished as she saw Lugh's worried face
Lugh then said with a relieved expression
" you sure worried me "
For Sreya it was unexpected to hear such a thing from Lugh, so, she blushed and looked away
Lugh then said
" THE DEMON KING Derga Myrdth, this is something that only the highest members of the church know, and you now know it well, but you deserve to know more about the church, do u want to know it??"
Sreya looked at Lugh with a serious expression and said yes
Then Lugh continued
" three years ago, when the church requested the kings to send women and children to the sanctuary to train them"
Lugh was interrupted by Freya
"Lugh, before that please tell me, why, just why!! Were only the women sent off, and why did the kings accept such a request"
Sreya asked Lugh with teary eyes, to which Lugh replied
" There are three reasons why the kings agreed, the first is because they wanted to gain the favor of a superpower like the church
the second is that they will gain recognition and fame for having trained individuals in their family
And the third is because a woman is seen as a weakness of a man"
As Sreya started to understand what Lugh meant her eyes started to fill up with sadness which Lugh noticed
"After the kings sent their daughters to the sanctuary, almost all of them were attacked on the way, and the ones who survived the attack like you were sent off to the habitation center"
Sreya realized something and said
" you mean that weird place I was at for 3 years was called Habitation Center??"
"Yes, when someone is sent there, the future of that person is sealed, he will be given an education that will manipulate that person's mentality and that person will join the church
and the incident when the women who were sent to the church were attacked was known as The great sacrifice from the king's
The attack was orchestrated by the church, even though you were attacked but survived due to having strong knights that were protecting you"
Sreya was overwhelmed with such insane information but she controlled herself and asked Lugh
"No!, why would the church want to attack those women, why did the church tell the kings to send their daughters??????!!?!"
Lugh then said
"The reason the church targeted those girls was so they can get experimental subjects, and since the attack was orchestrated in such a way that it looked like it was done by the bandits, the church can use those girls as they want"
Sreya was completely bewildered by this information, she was starting down in a daze trying to wrap her head around such a massive truth
Lugh looked at her who was in a daze and thought to himself [ she can't handle the truth, I knew she wouldn't be able to]
Sreya who was in a daze realized
[Lugh wasn't telling her everything, he was cutting info short, then what more could the church be hiding, and Lugh did not reveal, how does Lugh know so much about the church"
What she was thinking was cut short as Lugh stood up and interrupted "It best if you go to sleep now"
Sreya looked up at Lugh with baffled eyes, who was staring down at her with serious and cold eyes made her realize that she had entered a swamp, and if she moved in the wrong way then she would get trapped further
Sreya leaves in a daze
There was someone who was listening to this conversation, the man was able to hide his presence from Lugh, but the man was not capable enough to keep his presence hidden for long, so, the man left that place
Lugh turns his head and looks in the direction of where that man was stalking from
Lugh smiled confidently
"Interesting"

Today is the day of Einvalla entrance exams, and Oliver's party has reached the academy just in time
Merlin said to the party that even if they have arrived it's not the time to rest since the exams are still left "We have studied and studied on our way to the academy, we can't fail, got it!" Everyone exclaimed "Yes!!" Except Lisa who reply in her normal tone.....
The exams went and it was now time to announce the results, the student body vice president came on the stage
" HEY THERE EVERYONE, I FIRST CONGRATULATE ALL OF YOU FOR PASSING THE ENTRANCE EXAM,
I WILL NOW ANNOUNCE THE TOP 20 STUDENTS FROM BOTH THE FACULTIES,
BUT BEFORE THAT DO YOU SEE THESE TWO PODIUMS,
TODAY ON THESE PODIUMS WILL STAND THE BEST THREE STUDENTS OF BOTH THE FACULTIES
LET'S START WITHOUT FURTHER DELAY
FROM THE MAGICAL FACULTY WE FIRST HAVE SREYA KERMA WHO RANKED 3rd IN THE WHOLE MAGICAL FACULTY,
Sreya comes and stands on the podium 3rd place
THE SECOND RANKER OF THE MAGICAL FACULTY IS MERLIN!
Merlin comes and stands on the podium 2nd place
LAST BUT NOT LEAST THE ACE RANKER OF THE MAGICAL FACULTY IS SOMEONE UNEXPECTED, I'VE NEVER HEARD OF THIS PERSON EVER, THE PERSON I'M TALKING ABOUT IS LISA!!"
Lisa comes and stands on the podium first place
WE NOW HAVE THESE THREE AWESOME STUDENTS, BUT DON'T GET OFF THE PODIUM JUST YET, MEET WITH RANKER OF THE COMBATANT FACULTY
WITH THAT LET'S MOVE ON TO THE 3RD RANKER OF THE COMBATANTS FACULTY, IS NONE OTHER THAN SIMON IMPIA WHOSE FAMILY IS KNOWN AS THE FAMILY OF SWORDS
THE SECOND RANKER IS NONE OTHER THAN THE OLDER BROTHER OF SREYA KERMA, YES I'M TALKING ABOUT RILEY KERMA"
Merlin was intrigued when she heard that both siblings became rankers in such a Meritocratic academy,
Student body VP continues
"NOW ITS TIME TO REVEAL THE ACE RANKER OF THE COMBATANTS FACULTY"
Lisa while looking at the crowd thought [ I wonder who the Ace ranker of the combatant's faculty is]
"THE COMBATANTS FACULTY 'S ACE RANKER IS LUGH!!"
Lisa when she heard the announcement was perplexed
she looked at the N0 1 position of the podium which was empty not too long ago was now being stood on by the very man who changed her life
