The Marble Boat moved slowly. Inside the cabin, various refreshments were laid out, along with a plate of fried small fish which, it was said, were freshly caught by the Boat Lady and her husband.
Several bright Palace Lanterns were placed in the cabin, lighting it up brightly.
Wufu picked up a small fish and chewed on it, saying, "Mmm, this little fish is not bad, quite fresh." She then asked, "Didn't we say we were going to see the lanterns? What is there to see in this river?"
Ah Jiu chuckled, "We are at the upper stream right now, and we will be flowing downstream. Soon we will reach the city, and by then, you will be able to see many lanterns."
Wufu gave an "Oh" in response.
Seeing her eat another fish, Ah Jiu said, "Don't eat so much, eating too many fried things can cause internal heat." After saying that, he handed her a cup of chrysanthemum tea.
