Chapter 5 - Silent Preparations in the Crown Tundra Wild

The next day, the sun rose, and the sunlight shone on the snow, revealing a warm and lazy halo.

Hisoka , who had fallen asleep at some point, woke up slowly.

"Ralts!."

Hearing the sound, he looked and found that Ralts was bending over and standing outside the cave with her back to him. When she saw him wake up, she turned around and looked at him.

There was a small pit in the snow in front of Ralts, which contained some snow water that she had just melted with her Flame Fist.

She dipped her hands in the water, closed her eyes, and stroked her face like a cat stroking its fur.

It seemed that Ralts was a graceful Pokémon who liked cleanliness...

Is Ralts a girl or a boy?

Hisoka subconsciously glanced at Ralts's slender legs, which looked like they were covered in elegant bloomers.

It should be a girl...

Fighting girl, grumpy sister.

"Lal-ulu~"

Ralts had no idea what the trainer was thinking, so she waved at Hisoka.

Hisoka took out a towel from his bag, walked over, dipped it in the snow water, and squatted down to wipe Ralts's face.

"Woo~"Ralts seemed a little embarrassed, but still stood still and let him do as he pleased.

After washing up, Hisoka arranged the elf food, pinched Ralts's delicate cheek, and said,"After breakfast, we will train for a while and then leave Freezington Town Forest. It's too dangerous here."

"Ralt-lts!"She bent her arms slightly, as if to show off her muscles to Hisoka, cheering him up and silently telling him, "You don't have to be afraid as long as I'm here."

"Stop talking nonsense and eat quickly. Only when you are full can you have the energy to train."

"Ralt"

Hisoka sat cross-legged in the cave, holding a notebook in his hands. "Ralts , what skills do you have?"

A ball of fire appeared from Ralt's right hand. She turned around, twisted her waist, and swung her fist in one smooth motion.

Bang!

The solid walls of the cave began to crack and become charred.

Hisoka was silent for a moment, then began to write something in his notebook.

[System Notification]Skill Analysis Complete — RaltsFire Punch: Physical Attack – Uncommon for Psychic/Fairy typesRecommendation: Use sparingly as main output; better suited for surprise attacks.

If Ralts had hit him with a flaming punch of this force, he would probably have been beaten to death.

However, the Fire Punch is a physical attack, and whether it is Ralts, Kirlia, or Gardevoir, they are all better suited for special attacks according to their nature.

Fire Punch... it's fine for unexpected strikes, but if it becomes the main attack, it would waste her talent. Also, Ralts's durability—that is, her health—is relatively poor, so it's better to avoid close combat as much as possible.

After thinking for a while, Hisoka asked, "Do you like the Fire Punch?"

"Ralts!" She threw punches quickly and swung her legs back and forth like a spirited fighter.

Ralts likes the feeling of punching with her fists.

Hisoka pondered for a moment and wrote in his Pokémon research notes:

"It's understandable to want to bring out the little cub's talents, but Ralt's preferences must be taken into consideration. How to bring out her strengths without depriving her of her hobbies is my responsibility as a trainer."

After writing it, he did not continue to discuss the issue but let Gardevoir demonstrate other skills.

Disarming Voice (General): Let the opponent hear a cute scream, distracting them and causing them to be careless, thus reducing their attack power.Letting out a charming cry, the user does emotional damage to opposing Pokémon. This attack never misses.

Charm (Fairy): Makes an enchanting cry, causing mental damage to the opponent, and the attack is difficult to avoid. The user gazes at the target rather charmingly, making it less wary. The target's Attack is harshly lowered.

" Charm ... well i did not expect that from a pugilist like you !"

"RALTS!-RA" -(What do you mean by that !)

"Ok , moving on! "

Telekinesis (Confusion): Sends weak telekinesis to attack the opponent, sometimes confusing the opponent.

Fire Punch, Disarming Voice, Charm, Telekinesis (Confusion)... Except for Fire Punch, the other three are standard skills that Gardevoir will definitely use.

But Ralts couldn't teleport instantly. It was normal that the skill that could burst out potential could not be mastered at this moment.

"There's no need to train the Disarming Voice and Charm at present, but telekinesis is different. Strictly speaking, it's a growth skill that complements Gardevoir's mental power. In the future, many of Ralts's skills will require mental power to perform..."

Hisoka continued writing in his notes.

Hisoka continued writing in his notes.

[System Notification]Training Routine Registered:

Telekinesis micro-control practice (writing)

Long-distance running to build endurance and speed

Flame Fist drills

Note: Mental power exhaustion causes headaches in Ralts; adjust intensity accordingly.

"As a psychic-type Pokémon, psychic power is the foundation of her existence. The strength of psychic power basically equates to the strength of a psychic Pokémon."

After writing this sentence, Hisoka rested his chin on the gel pen in distress, thinking about training methods.

"u-Ral?"

She tilted her head curiously. The trainer had been writing in his little notebook since dinner. What was he writing?

She jumped lightly and hugged Hisoka's arm, then climbed onto his shoulder using her hands and feet. She raised her face slightly like an emperor declaring sovereignty, then lay on Hisoka's shoulder. She first reached out her hand to touch Hisoka's frowning brows, then tilted her head to lean on his profile and looked at the research notes with him.

"Ralts?" She pointed to the handwriting on the notebook.

Perhaps it was inheritance of blood, but all Pokémon could read, yet Ralts did not recognize the words Hisoka had written.

Because Hisoka wrote in Russian.

Hisoka pinched Ralts's hand that was trying to smooth his brows, and said softly,"These are Russian characters, from my hometown..."

Before he finished speaking, Hisoka was stunned for a moment, then asked softly,"Ralts, do you want to learn this kind of writing?"

"Woo woo!"She nodded heavily, not because she was very interested, but because she felt there shouldn't be secrets between her and her trainer.

She really didn't like that he always held a little notebook she couldn't understand.

"Okay." Hisoka smiled and wrote in his notes: "R-A-L-T-S. [ Ральтс ] This is Ralts's name."

After that, he handed her a gel pen and asked her to try writing.

Ralts looked at the gel pen, almost as long as half of her arm, then looked at Hisoka's long, slender fingers with distinct joints, then clenched her hand.

She, Ralts, had no fingers, and the way she held a pen looked weird no matter how you looked at it.

"Ra-lll ~"She pouted, feeling a little aggrieved. She had never felt so clearly and disgusted by the physiological differences between humans and Pokémon in a single day.

Seeing this, Hisoka's gentle smile seemed to hide a devil patiently persuading her. He said softly,"Ralts, you're a Pokémon with psychic powers. Although you can't hold a pen, you can use telekinesis to control it to write."

As soon as these words were spoken, it was like enlightenment to Ralts, and her big emerald eyes lit up.

"RALTS!"A blue halo like water waves emerged from Ralts's eyes, then the gel pen emitted a blue light and floated up by itself.

Hisoka looked at the gel pen being awkwardly controlled by telekinesis as it wrote in his research notes, and a smile appeared on his face.

Using telekinesis to control a gel pen is a great test of subtle control over mental power. For Ralts, whose mental power is weak and control unskilled, this was the most suitable method of practice.

In the long run, the quality, quantity, and micro-manipulation of mental power would improve greatly.

"Woo woo~"She breathed a little tiredly. Using telekinesis to control the pen was much more difficult than she had imagined.

Hisoka held Ralts, put her and the notebook on the ground, and let her exercise by herself. He stood up and rummaged through his backpack. He remembered his original body had bought some high-end energy cubes. Although they were not the flavors Ralts, who had psychic powers and was a fairy type, liked, they were popular flavors all Pokémon could accept.

How can you exercise without nutritional supplements?

Ralts looked at Hisoka's back, then glanced at the gel pen floating in the air. She put her hands behind her back and tapped the ground with her little feet.

Then she reached out and turned to the first page of her research notes, her hand stroking the three words she didn't recognize.

She didn't know those three words, but she knew it was her trainer's name, just like her own, Ralts.

She controlled the gel pen to fly over, and after a while, she turned back to the original page of the research notes and continued exercising her telekinesis by writing her own name.

"Ralts, come and eat." Hisoka took two crystal-clear energy cubes and handed them to Ralts, completely unaware of her little movements.

It was another delicious food she'd never seen before!

"La!"She happily held the energy cube and started eating it.

Hisoka sat next to her, gently touched Ralts's head, looked outside the cave, and murmured,"Now that we have determined Ralts's skills and training direction, it's time to leave."

[System Notification]New Objective Unlocked: Escape Freezington Town Forest - Crown Tundra Risk Assessment: HighHostile Pokémon Activity: ActivePrepare for real danger.

"Hmm now."

"System accept the quest and ..."

Hisoka took out the Old marine diary and opened it....

Suddenly, his vision blurred for a moment, then cleared. A surge of power awakened deep within him—his Psychic senses sharpened, and an aura of invisible energy shimmered faintly around his body.

He felt different. Stronger. More aware.

The system's translucent interface flickered to life again, this time highlighting changes in his status:

Hisoka could feel the fresh power settling inside him, his aura now visibly pulsing with energy.

"Hahhh"

As the knowledge of various body and endurance strengthening techniques surged into my mind, I could feel how to improve and reinforce my body with aura and willpower. It was as if a hidden door in my soul had been flung wide open.

Curious, I flipped to the last page of the diary.

The signature caught my eye.

"By Monkey D. Garp."

My eyes widened.

O_O

"WHAT THE F#C?!" I blurted out, completely stunned.

"RALTSSS!!!"

Hisoka - <_>

"Why are you screaming !"

"RAlts" - "I don't know! "

"Ok go to sleep now...It's midnight"

The Galar region was vast—far bigger than the few cities and towns described in the original maps Hisoka had seen. Traveling through it felt endless.

It was still about three days' journey to Freezington Town, but Hisoka had run out of food and needed to replenish supplies soon.

The cold air was starting to bite deeper as evening approached. Hisoka rubbed his hands together, sighing quietly.

"Okay, Ralts," he said softly, looking at the little Pokémon who had been by his side through everything. "It's time to get some rest. We'll need all our strength for tomorrow."

Ralts didn't resist. She blinked sleepily and nestled close to Hisoka. Slowly, she curled up against his side, her small, elegant body radiating a faint warmth that cut through the chill.

Hisoka smiled gently and wrapped his arm around her, careful not to disturb her. He could feel her breathing even out, peaceful and calm.

She lifted her head briefly, her big emerald eyes sparkling faintly as if saying, Thank you.

Then, with a soft sigh, she rested her head against Hisoka's chest and closed her eyes.

The quiet crackle of the fire nearby was the only sound in the cave as the sun dipped below the horizon.

Hisoka looked down at her delicate form and whispered, "You're not just my partner, Ralts. You're my friend. We'll get through this together."

The little Pokémon gave a soft, contented hum, a sound almost like a purr, and snuggled closer.

In that moment, wrapped in the warmth of friendship and trust, the cold outside seemed a little less harsh — and the long journey ahead a little less daunting.
