The Mythical World!
The evolution of epochs follows strict rules. It's not a matter of personal will; things don't unfold according to mere desire. The mythical world itself, much like a divine consciousness, develops along a predetermined path.
If you defy the evolutionary process of the mythical world, it will undoubtedly lead to problems. Regardless of who or what you are, violating this process will never, ever be allowed.
Yet…
The current situation was precisely that. In the mortal realm, new life, a new race, had indeed been born. This was deeply strange, even unsettling. No matter how you look at it, something felt very wrong.
"..."
After a brief moment of thought, Hypnos calmly spoke, "Thanatos, have you checked the newly born race in the mortal realm?"
"Yes!" Thanatos immediately nodded and replied seriously, "This race is very peculiar. Their numbers are not large, but they're strange. They don't belong to humans, nor to the gods. They are more like the Hecatoncheires or Cyclopes, possessing bodies far larger than regular humans, with immense strength, natural cosmic power, and special divine abilities."
"But..."
Thanatos hesitated at this point before shaking his head. "According to the development of the mythical world, this should be a race of giants. But the biggest issue is that giants shouldn't exist at this point in time. Furthermore, giants are usually considered a subhuman species, and they definitely shouldn't possess such unique powers, cosmic strength, or divine abilities."
Subhuman species!
These species inevitably emerge as part of the development of the mythical world, symbolizing the age of myths and the age of heroes. They include elves, fairies, giants, dwarves, gnomes...
And so on!
These races are all part of the subhuman category, destined to emerge with the advent of the Heroic Age. They will eventually become part of the epics, and with the end of the Silver Age and Heroic Age, they will become part of mythical history—a phenomenon referred to as the fading of myths.
Is the fading of the mythical world inevitable?
Yes and no!
Gods, with their endless lifespans, strive to progress and avoid death. But does the mythical world itself desire its demise? Clearly, that's not the case. Just like the gods, the mythical world, at its core, also resists destruction.
However!
For the mythical world to truly escape its fate of destruction, there are only two paths. The first is for myths to achieve an ultimate glory, but this is impossible. Myths are destined to fade, giving way to technology, which, in turn, fuels humanity's greed and darkness, ultimately leading to the downfall of the mythical world.
This is the first path, but it's an extremely difficult one. The second path involves the mythical world gradually embracing technology, eventually achieving a transformation that allows it to transcend its current state and achieve a new level of existence.
But this path is equally challenging. Why? Because of humanity! Human greed, corruption, and darkness are forces that can never truly be changed. While these traits drive human progress, they are also the greatest obstacles to it.
No one can predict what the future holds for humanity. Perhaps humanity's ultimate destiny will indeed be one of destruction, an inevitable collapse that cannot be avoided.
But with all this in mind, the appearance of giants at this point in time, especially such strange, unnatural ones, seems incredibly odd.
The twin gods exchanged glances, both deeply pondering this issue.
The birth of these giants was strange—unsettling, even. It didn't seem logical at all. This was a race of giants, after all, and their sudden emergence at this moment raised serious concerns. Something didn't add up.
Hypnos shook his head. "It's hard to determine. When no traces can be found, and when such strange and rule-defying events take place, the most likely explanation is…"
Hypnos didn't finish his sentence but instead gestured subtly to the ground beneath them. His meaning was clear. With everything happening as it was, the culprit behind it all was already obvious.
The reason was simple!
Who else but the supreme Earth Goddess could have caused this? Just a bit of thought made it easy to guess the answer.
Moreover.
The Earth Goddess was also considered the mother of giants. Whether it was the Titans, the Hecatoncheires, or the Cyclopes, these children of the Earth Goddess all embodied the concept of giants.
"Titan bloodline..."
"Hm?" Thanatos suddenly recalled something, his face showing a trace of shock as he thought carefully. "Hypnos, do you think this strange race of giants might be a special group with Titan blood?"
"Can't you sense it?" Hypnos asked in surprise. He knew that his brother had observed these giants closely. Could he really not sense it?
Thanatos shook his head. "No, I couldn't see anything. All I could observe was their outward appearance. As for their true nature? I couldn't detect anything. And I didn't investigate them more deeply."
Though Thanatos had a fiery temper, that didn't mean he was reckless. He understood that some things were better left unexplored.
Heh heh heh~~~
You can never truly know what lies hidden beneath the surface, especially in a place like this, at a time like this, when something so strange has suddenly appeared—and the mythical world itself hasn't stopped it.
Is it really just that simple? Obviously not!
