This is the strategy, but let's be honest — it's a monumental challenge for the current Liverpool squad.
After Chelsea equalized, Coach Conte immediately ordered all 11 Chelsea players to retreat and focus on defense. Even their star forwards, Sulo and Lukaku, dropped back to the midfield to support.
Under such circumstances, breaking through Chelsea's defense is no easy task.
Yet for Liverpool, there's no other option — they have to go all out.
This is Anfield, their fortress. And in terms of league standings, Liverpool trails far behind Chelsea. If they want to contend for the Premier League title this season, there's no doubt about it:
They must win tonight's match.
The atmosphere in the stadium was electric. With fans roaring in support, the match had entered its decisive moments.
Mane took the ball and began his run. He had the advantage of sheer speed, and when Mane accelerated, his explosive power was undeniable. His successive sprints left the Chelsea defense scrambling.
At this critical juncture, Mane faced off against Chelsea's strongest defender — N'Golo Kanté.
Kanté's strength and defensive prowess are renowned, and in the eyes of fans, his presence in front of Mane was a near-guarantee that the attack would be thwarted.
But reality can be harsh.
As soon as Kanté positioned himself, Mane didn't hesitate. Without a moment's pause, he surged forward, accelerating with incredible force.
Mane's explosive speed was unstoppable.
In an instant, he broke through, leaving Kanté behind and stormed into Chelsea's penalty area single-handedly. The Anfield crowd erupted in anticipation, pinning all their hopes on Mane.
And Mane didn't disappoint.
Inside the box, he displayed masterful footwork. A series of quick direction changes completely dismantled the defensive setup.
Finally, with a decisive strike — Mane took the shot!
To be fair, Chelsea's defenders Christensen and Gary Cahill had done their part, holding their positions and closing gaps. But Mane's brilliance was simply too much to contain.
His timing was flawless. His execution, perfect.
The ball rocketed off his foot like a shooting star, curving into the top corner of the net. It was unstoppable.
Courtois could only stand and watch.
