Red's POV
"You looked happy," Leo said the moment he stepped into my office, raising a brow as he closed the door behind him. "Did something happen last night?"
His tone was casual, but there was curiosity in his eyes. He hadn't returned to my place after the mayor's party—he'd stayed at his new apartment instead. I wasn't surprised. He'd been giving me space lately, like he knew something had shifted.
I leaned back in my chair, a slow smile pulling at the corners of my mouth. I couldn't help it. The memory of last night still lingered—soft and golden, like the light that filled her eyes when she stood in my doorway again.
"She came over," I said, my voice quieter now. "Destiny."
Leo's brows lifted, and I could feel the grin tugging at my lips before I even finished.
"She spent the night," I added, rubbing the back of my neck, suddenly shy. "We talked. We… just—God, we were us again."
