"Going out now?"
Kiara opened her mouth slightly but then closed it again. For a brief moment, she just studied him as he took off his gloves, as if he were preparing to leave with her.
"Hugo, I told you…" she trailed off, watching his brows shoot up. "I can drive myself to see her."
"I know." He smiled. "Let's go?"
Kiara sighed in defeat. Initially, she felt deeply indebted to him, but, just like him, she didn't want to owe him too much. Although buying him meals was a very small repayment, it was the only thing she could do right now, and also, she didn't want to bother him.
But the guy bothered himself.
"Fine," she conceded, knowing he would pester her anyway. "But you're not driving. I will."
After saying that, Kiara turned her back on him and walked away. Hugo, on the other hand, tilted his head to the side.
"I didn't know she had a car," he muttered.
Well, she didn't have a car, and Hugo would soon realize what she meant by that.
