Chapter 63 - Chapter 063: Victorious Return To Village

More than ten thousand ninjas were killed and more than three thousand normal civilians died. The remaining ones among the ninjas were almost all wounded. Many of them would no longer be able to live as a 'ninja' in the future. After returning to Konoha, there would only be two results waiting for them, either to start a small business by themselves or to continue working as a civilian.

According to Asahi's understanding, Konoha's attitude towards these injured workers was quite good. Some ninja villages could only abandon them due to insufficient natural resources. Either they get expelled from the village, or just get killed directly and buried on site.

After a brief understanding of Konoha's casualties, he began to calculate.

With Konoha's current strength, they could at least clash once with another Great Ninja Village forcefully, but after that, the overall strength of the Konoha would drop to a critical point.

Asahi remembers that in the original, Konoha once compromised with Kumogakure and traded the life of Hyuga Hizashi for peace. At that time, Konoha had just gone through several wars and had also lost the Fourth Hokage, Namikaze Minato, in the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox's attack. Konoha during that period should be at their weakest point.

However, Konoha was still very strong now, and could continue to stand proud in the shinobi world under the title of "Shinobi World Strongest Great Ninja Village". Especially after defeating Sunagakure, Konoha's prestige would get showered in splendor at least until the next war.

In the original, Konoha in the Third Great Ninja War should have fought against a combination of Sunagakure, Iwagakure, Kirigakure, and Kumogakure respectively. Now they were only at the beginning of the Third Great Ninja War. With Konoha's strength right now, it's easy to survive, but by the end of this war, Konoha's strength would be hitting rock bottom, it would not be so easy at that time.

So Asahi should still have a few years to improve his strength, at least to the extent that he could be guaranteed to survive this war.

With a rough analysis of the situation in the ninja world, Asahi developed a lot of thoughts.

Born in such a troubled world, it's not easy to survive. Asahi must make plans for his future. To become an elite in the future, he must first live through the years of the Third Great Ninja War.

Tsunade and Orochimaru, these two people were undoubtedly his saviors. Orochimaru, in particular, could help him obtain power fast and maybe he would even get the chance to study forbidden jutsu with him.

Although in the case of Chizuru, Asahi's remarks disrupted Orochimaru's plans to study Sharingan, but he doesn't believe that Orochimaru would give up on using him because of this small setback.

Especially since Asahi now understood Orochimaru's secret, and he also possessed anough ability to be helpful for Orochimaru's experiments on forbidden jutsus.

In the next few days, apart from treating the wounded in the camp, Asahi was training outside the rest of the time, while waiting for a signal from Orochimaru.

It's a pity that ten days had already passed, not to mention Orochimaru in person, not even the shadow of a little snake had appeared near him.

It wasn't until ten days after that Sunagakure sent someone to express the idea of wanting to start 'Peace Talks'. At that point, Asahi finally got an order from Orochimaru, but it was one to return to Konoha. As for Orochimaru himself, he still didn't see even his shadow.

That night, a group of ninjas took a good rest in the camp and were preparing to return to Konoha the following day.

…

The Welcoming Ceremony of the village was unprecedented, this was Konoha's first victory in the Third Great Ninja War, which greatly defeated Sunagakure spirit, and at the same time raised Konoha's prestige. It's believed that after this war, many commissions and clients would consider Konoha first once they want to hire a ninja for any kind of mission.

Once there is a large number of missions, Konoha would be fully operational. Konoha ninjas would not only get a chance to gain experience, but would also be able to take advantage of the opportunity to earn a lot of income.

When Orochimaru, Tsunade, and Minato walked into the village side by side, the group that was greeting them suddenly rang a huge cheer across the entire village. At this moment they were the main characters, and so they were basked in glory.

Asahi was walking behind Tsunade. Many people could see him walking with this team at the forefront. In order to meet the current atmosphere, he had to show an extraordinary confidence and pride on his face.

Konoha's high-level was almost all present there with the exception of Shimura Danzo. Asahi's eyes glanced at them from time to time, and their respective expressions were completely captured.

The Third Hokage looked very pleased while looking at his two disciples.

After their experience during the Second Great Ninja War, Orochimaru, Jiraiya, and Tsunade had already fully grown up. In this times of war, Orochimaru was returning to the village dressed as Konoha's Commander with a major victory under his belt which made him very proud.

At this time, Orochimaru was still the Third Hokage's favorite disciple, and he also his favorite candidate, the person whom he wanted the most to inherit his Hokage's position. If it weren't for the ambitions that he saw when Orochimaru was still a child, the Third Hokage would had handed over the Hokage's position to Orochimaru's hands without the slightest hesitation.

Sadness flashed in the Third Hokage's eyes when his gaze fell upon Tsunade. As the only woman among the Sannin, a contracter of Katsuyu and Konoha's Princess, Tsunade also had the ability to succeed Hokage's position if it weren't because of her hemophobia.

As for Minato, the Third Hokage was very pleased with his extremely dazzling performance in the battlefield at this time.

Then the Third Hokage glanced at Asahi behind Tsunade. During his time on the battlefield, Asahi performed well. Although he failed to stop Rasa's plot, he was also the first to discover Rasa's intention to attack. He noticed what others couldn't, this strategic mind and ability to observe alone was already amazing.

And Asahi had now joined under Tsunade as her disciple, and the kid himself was very talented in medical-ninjutsu. If such a talent was properly tarined, he would definitely be one of the pillars of the village and his side in the future.

Especially during wars, he could already play a role in covering Tsunade's hemophobia, allowing her absence not to be noticed on the battlefield. This role was something that they couldn't get an average person to accomplish.

With this in mind, the Third Hokage began to silently plot again.

Asahi was also plotting right now, what kind of attitude should he use to face these Konoha rulers in the future? Only with these powerful high-level's approval could he have access to the secrets of Konoha, especially those forbidden jutsu sealed in the Scroll of Seals.

Just then Asahi saw some familiar ninjas in the crowd again. At this moment, they were waving with excitement, with a face full of excited smiles.

As part of a clan's younger generation, they wouldn't appear on the battlefield unless the situation reaches the most critical moment. Although they were now envious of Asahi's contribution during the war, he was also envious of them.

'Youngsters really don't know what they should wish for.'

On the surface, the grand welcome had ended, and then a conversation started between the high-rank ninjas. Mostly about how to deal with their relationship with Sunagakure and the distribution of victory results, these all were issues for the high-level to consider.

As part of the low-level ninjas, Asahi only needed to go home and wait for a higher-up's notification before he could know his next task.
