At this moment, the person who appeared behind the Steppenwolf was none other than Iron Man, Tony Stark, who had followed Kara closely.
With a smile on his face, Tony Stark made strange hand gestures, staring at the Steppenwolf with a peculiar look in his eyes.
"I've seen how advanced civilizations research space transition technology, but I must admit, compared to your portal, theirs are weak."
"What did you do!?" The Steppenwolf stared at Tony Stark, unable to believe that the boom tube, originating from Apokolips, had been closed by this human standing before him.
The boom tube was not just an ordinary piece of technology; it was Apokolips' highest form of technology, transcending the realm of science and reaching a level akin to magic.
The very fact that this universe's human had manually closed such a universe-spanning transition technology left the Steppenwolf utterly astonished.
"What I did, didn't you already see it with your own eyes?" Tony Stark smiled slightly, his eyes revealing a look full of meaning.
When Tony Stark first arrived in this universe, he noticed the difference in energy between this universe and his own. Here, his magic could unleash even more powerful effects than before.
He remembered the lessons Alex had taught him. In the wasteland universe, where there was no origin of magic, sorcerers could no longer cast powerful dark magic. However, here, he could freely use all kinds of magic.
This realization sparked in Tony Stark the idea of using this universe's properties to achieve his ultimate goal: merging technology and magic.
However, what surprised him was that, what he thought would require some effort to accomplish, had come so easily.
The boom tube, a product of Apokolips' technology combined with new god energy crystals, told Tony Stark that this journey was a successful one.
Compared to spending days reading obscure magical texts in the house of mystery or conducting boring research with Reed Richards, this was undoubtedly much more exciting.
"Be careful!"
As Tony Stark was deep in thought, a loud shout suddenly rang out.
It was Hippolyta, who had been closely watching the Steppenwolf's movements, and upon noticing something amiss, had only time to shout a warning from a distance.
In his madness, the Steppenwolf dragged his injured body forward, charging directly at Tony Stark with unstoppable force.
"I've already noticed, Princess Miracle, you don't need to worry about my safety."
Without seeing Tony Stark make any move, a milky white light suddenly appeared in front of him, transforming into a pair of pure wings that shielded him.
The barrier didn't look strong, but it effectively stopped the Steppenwolf in its tracks.
"A sorcerer?" Seeing the white barrier blocking his path, the Steppenwolf immediately understood and, bearing the pain in his arms, swung a punch at the barrier.
The terrifying force struck, and the white shield trembled violently, causing Tony Stark to stagger back several steps.
Seeing that the Steppenwolf had taken the initiative to attack, Black Adam, Shazam, and the others no longer hesitated. They rushed forward, launching attacks at the Steppenwolf's back.
After taking a severe hit, the Steppenwolf grew even more ferocious.
The moment that sorcerer closed his portal, the Steppenwolf realized he had no escape.
With Darkseid's temperament, he knew for sure that help wouldn't come. If the other party had truly intended to spare him, he would have acted when the Kryptonian first appeared.
But so much time had passed, and no response came from Apokolips. This was a clear indication that the result was already certain: Darkseid had abandoned him, and he would never return to his homeland.
The realization fueled the Steppenwolf's rage. He roared and attacked everything around him, losing all rational thought.
Cornered, the Steppenwolf unleashed a tremendous destructive force. In his desperate, nearly suicidal attacks, Black Adam and Shazam struggled to keep him at bay.
Watching the three Hulk-like creatures tearing into each other, Tony Stark pursed his lips, crossing his arms as he stood by and observed the battle.
The war didn't end with Tony Stark's arrival. Instead, it intensified, reaching a boiling point. Now, with the Steppenwolf and the parademons fighting desperately, the already disadvantaged heroes were finding it even harder to keep up.
"Stop watching the show, Stark."
Suddenly, a silver figure flashed across the battlefield and made a sharp stop next to Tony Stark. It was Pietro and Ashley, who had arrived late.
"I'm not watching a show," Tony Stark shrugged, speaking with an unusually serious tone.
Seeing Tony Stark's reaction, Pietro said nothing but instead placed Ashley on the ground and fixed his gaze on Tony Stark.
Feeling uneasy under Pietro's gaze, Tony Stark helplessly raised both hands.
"Alright, alright, I get it, you're the captain. I'll listen to you, okay?"
At this, Pietro nodded slightly, and then exchanged a glance with Ashley. The two of them immediately dashed towards the battlefield, where the demonic army and Hourman and others were engaged in combat.
Although they had never encountered the Steppenwolf before, Pietro and Ashley were well aware that defeating an enemy of this caliber would be difficult even with the two of them together. Therefore, the priority was to clear out the parademons first.
And as for these parademons, they had already faced them before.
Previously, in the Gotham of the Apokolips universe, they had fought paradooms. Now, facing these ordinary parademons, they weren't afraid at all.
Watching as Pietro disappeared from view and Ashley shot out webs to leap into action, Tony Stark silently clicked his tongue.
Shaking his head slightly, Tony Stark withdrew his gaze and looked once again at the Steppenwolf, who was battling alongside Black Adam and Shazam.
"Jarvis, how's the data analysis coming along?"
[It's almost done, sir, but I recommend observing a bit longer.]
"Observe?" Tony Stark smirked, raised his hand, and put on his tactical glasses. "Jarvis, did you forget the most common phrase I always say?"
["Practice is the only path to the truth," I haven't forgotten, sir, but I believe combat and truth aren't closely related.]
"Quit talking so much."
Saying this casually, Tony Stark reopened his eyes. In the next moment, countless data panels appeared before him.
(Code name: Steppenwolf, combat power at Hulk level, threat level -5)
[Recommend using counter spells, such as Vine Spell, Crimson bands, or Ice Spell.]
Looking at the various analysis data in front of him, even the Steppenwolf's movements were preemptively predicted, which made Tony Stark wear a confident smile.
"That's more like it~"
Suddenly joining the battle, Tony Stark saw the Steppenwolf throw a punch and seized the opportunity to raise his hand and cast a spell.
"Nirvalon's Vines—extend your tendrils!"
In the next moment, two dark green energy tendrils shot out from the cracks in the ground, tightening and wrapping around the Steppenwolf's hand, which had not yet been retracted.
"See? Simple, right?" Tony Stark hovered above the Steppenwolf, lightly laughing as he made hand gestures, looking down at the enraged, helpless monster.
"Be careful, this guy isn't easy to deal with!" Shazam shouted loudly, seeing the stranger approaching the Steppenwolf.
Having fought the Steppenwolf for several rounds, no one understood the powers of this new god better than Shazam.
Compared to his strength, mere magic had no ability to harm the Steppenwolf, a new god, and it was impossible to bind him so easily.
Sure enough, as soon as Shazam finished speaking, the Steppenwolf broke free from the vine spell's restraints, and with a sudden burst of power, he lunged at Tony Stark above him.
Seeing this, even Tony Stark was momentarily surprised.
But it was at that moment that the voice of the artificial intelligence Jarvis rang in Tony Stark's ears.
[The opponent's physical capabilities give him a high resistance to magic. Magic below level 4 is unlikely to have any effect, sir.]
[(Detected enemy attack range): Activating armor's automatic spell-casting mode, casting target—Cyttorak's Crimson Bands.]
With Jarvis' voice, Tony Stark's green armor emitted a series of mechanical grinding sounds.
Without seeing Tony Stark raise a hand, the armor automatically activated, and magical runes began to form in the air. Soon, several deep red chains emerged from the void, immediately binding the Steppenwolf in mid-air.
The Steppenwolf's outstretched hand was now just a few centimeters away from Tony Stark, but despite the short distance, he couldn't move forward.
"Tsk, alright, I see where the problem is."
Tony Stark raised an eyebrow, tilted his head, and dodged the massive punch, studying the Steppenwolf's face intently.
"Looking at this world, it's even more interesting than I imagined. It's not that you have high resistance to magic, but rather that you have a unique immunity to lower-level magic. The body of a new god, right?"
In response, the Steppenwolf let out an enraged roar, and a terrifying hurricane, along with foul-smelling breath, forced Tony Stark to stagger backward.
"Whoa, whoa, the big guy's mad."
Pretending to be scared, Tony Stark then darkened his expression, coldly sneering.
"I know my magic is just child's play to you. The only magic that could hurt you, apart from that of the Dimension Lord, is probably 'divine' magic."
"But guess what?"
As he spoke, Tony Stark made a hand gesture, and several silver metallic fragments floated out of his armor, circling around him.
"I just happen to have some blessings from Thor."
