" welcome home." Alec creased his brows as he walked into the living room, he checked the time on his watch and it was close to midnight.
" What are you still doing up this late?." He simply asked.
" I couldn't sleep."
" There's no need on waiting for me... it's not necessary."
Alec said knowing he's the reason for her still being awake at this hour.
" You must be tired and hungry, I can warm up dinner."
" I'm not hungry... thanks."
" Then... J-join me for a bath...p... please."
Winter stammered. She went ahead to fill the tub with warm water as she waited for him in her bedroom bathroom. She took off her clothes dipping herself in the tub as the soothing water washed over her body. A couple of minutes went by and there wasn't a single trace of Alec showing up, disappointed... winter folded her knees to her chest feeling a bit overwhelmed with emotions. She closes her eyes resting her head on her knees. Suddenly the water level raised a bit higher as though someone added a bucket full of water... Not knowing it was Alec who joined in. She lifts her head up and saw him staring at her with his usual blank eyes.
" It's not advisable to sleep in a tub filled with water, you might drown."
" I-i wasn't... asleep."
Alec quietly stared at her as she hardly blushed to her face turning a bright red.
" With your approval I'd like to do something." She tucked some hair behind her ear.
She leans forward to touch his masculine body, her soft hand exploring his broad shoulders and chest...lower to his abdomen.
Alec growls softly swallowing hard, his heavy breathing uncontrollable. He holds her neck pulling her in for a mouth watering kiss, their tongues twisting and playing with one another, he grabs her boobs with a squeeze. Winter throws herself in his arms completely.
He wraps his strong arms around her tiny waist as she breathes heavily.
A few Days later....
A few days went by with Winter attending her daily classes in college. Ava and Zain moved into their new home with their son.
Trixie was grocery shopping when a tall man approached her wearing grey sweatpant and a hoodie with white sneakers.
" Excuse me, are you Trixie?."
" Who's asking?."
" I'm Doctor Julian Ken, would you mind coming with me outside?."
" Right, I'm not going anywhere with a total stranger."
" It's quite important if you do."
" I'm warning you right now Mr, I'm a police officer and if you won't leave me the hell alone I will arrest you."
" It's about your friend Emma Rose Anderson."
Trixie paused staring at the man with a frown expression. Of course she's not surprised that he knows who Emma is and all, but what information does he have on her? That was her biggest question mark.
" What about her?."
" Will you come with me now?."
He asked. Trixie didn't get weird vibes coming from him so she decided to follow him, not that she completely trusts him though.
" Just so you know I have a gun with me so if you try anything funny I won't hesitate on shooting you."
She said as they approached the parking lot towards a black tinted car.
" Get in."
" Are you insane, I'm not getting in."
Julian sighs tiredly thinking this person has trust issues or something.
" Please roll down the window." Julian said. The back seat window rolled down just enough of her half face to be seen.
" Trix...."
" E-emma...is...is that really you?."
Tears fell from her tears. " Hi friend." Emma smiled at her.
Trixie opened the door jumping into the back seat and throwing herself in Emma's arms, She hugged her so tightly as though wanting to confirm she wasn't imagining things and that it was really her best friend.
" Emma... how's this possible, you're still alive? I-i thought I lost you...do you know how much I cried for you? Everyone lost part of themselves when you allegedly died."
" I'm sorry I made you suffer like this."
She strokes her back. Trixie pulled back taking a good look at her.
" You're not Emma's ghost right?."
" Of course not silly."
" And am not dreaming?."
" No you're not, I'm really here."
" Oh Emma, I missed you so much."
She gives her another hug. Emma explained everything to her and how she doesn't remember certain things. Hearing all this Trixie felt both relieved and heart broken, Relieved her best friend is alive and back to her. And heart broken that she doesn't remember her life with Alec or having a daughter nor sister. She wondered how all this will play out? She just wants to tell her everything but again that would affect her brain and she might never remember her past memories. All this made her heart ach. She thanked Julian for looking after Emma all these years and never giving up on her.
" Tell me Trix, how are my grandparents doing?."
" Ohh Em... Your grandparents couldn't take the news of your death and they both -
" Stop, don't say it."
" I'm so sorry."
" Are you still at our old apartment?."
" Yes I am."
" Great. Can you drive us there and pick up Alex at the day care?."
" Sure."
They drove back to the apartment and Emma felt a warmth in her chest, she felt home in these walls.
" I'll pick up Alex."
Julian squeezes her arm gently. Emma smiled at him with a nod. After leaving... Trixie turned to Emma with a questioning raised eye brow.
" Are you two like a thing... and who's Alex?."
" Julian and I? Of course not he's just a friend... and Alex is my son."
" You have son?."
" Apparently I was pregnant and gave birth to a baby boy... he's 3 years old."
" He would be thrilled to know you're still alive and have a son."
Trixie murmured with herself. "
" How's my company running?."
" Betha has it covered."
" Of course she does she's Betha, I trust her completely."
" I have to go to work but I'll head over as soon as I'm done okay. Take care."
" Love you."
Trixie smiled heading out, Emma sat on the couch looking around... nothing is changed, she's back home with her best friend yet something feels off, like there's a missing piece somewhere in her heart but doesn't know what? She rubbed her ring on her finger as though expecting some kind of unanswered questions to be solved by staring at it.
" If we do cross paths some day, what will be our fate?"
She questioned herself.
.....
Trixie walked into Ava's office like she's being chased by a mad man as she closed the door behind her.
" What's wrong with you?."
" Emma is alive."
" What?."
" You heard right... she's still alive."
" Ok first of all relax you literally look like you're about to pass out, secondly you must be confused and miss her which is okay."
" Ava, listen to me I'm not crazy... I'm telling you Emma is alive and she's at the apartment as we speak. She approached me and I wasn't seeing things she's really... Really very much alive."
Ava stumbled back leaning against the desk.
" She's really... I-i want to see her."
" Wait, there's something you need to know first."
Trixie explained what Emma went through and her current condition. " So we need to be careful what we say to her."
" Understood."
She nods unable to hold her joy. " I can't believe she's still alive I mean...we were there when we put her body to rest."
" True but that woman's face was disfigured we couldn't tell if she was really Emma."
" That's true."
They went for lunch to the company cafeteria to grab a meal and discuss how they'll go about it and make her meet Alec without telling her they are married to one another.
