The Blaze rises as morning comes and shines gently through Alix's window. As people all around town are awoken one can not help but wonder just what it is that they wake up to in the morning. A nice warm breakfast maybe. A nice good morning kiss from a lover.
That would be nice...Alix, however, awoke to rodents. Rats, specifically, covering the entirety of her room's floor all staring in her direction.
"What the-"
"Good morning Pwetty Giant!!" The hyper and joyful greeting of Felix was heard by the girl. She looked at her bed and saw him sitting on top of her. "Hello Felix." In her peripherals, Alix managed to spot Mo wide awake with a condescending smile plastered on his face.
"It's great to see you again, Pwetty Giant!!" Felix nuzzled into Alix's cheek of which the girl did not refrain from but instead asked a question. "Felix, why are there about 150 rats in my room first thing in the morning?" Felix backed away slightly and smiled brightly at the girl.
"It's my family!!" Felix seemingly celebrated incited the other rats to squeak in the form of cheers. "Cool...but why are they here?" Felix smirked smugly. "It is all thanks to you miss giant." Alix cocked her head to the side as Felix continued.
"You see, after going home I ran over to brag to my brothers like you said to."
"I never said-"
"When I told dem dat I had gotten a name from a pwetty giant dey all got jealous. In fact, some of dem didn't believe me and asked me to prove it. SOOO, here we are!" Felix's smile that never seemed to falter even for a moment beamed brightly at the girl.
"Alright...but how did you find my house?" Felix scoffed playfully. "Oh dat was easy. Us rats know where everybody in town stays!!" Alix sat with her face frozen as she took another look around her room. Some of the rats were on the desk that she used for spell writing, some were in the windowsill but most of them were just on the floor.
"I understand the situation, Felix. Now I have one more thing to tell you."
"What is it, Pwetty Giant?" Alix smiled warmly at the cute rat as she took a deep breath in.
"GET THE HELL OUT OF MY HOUSE!!!"
...
"Quite the scene this morning, Lexi." Mo said mockingly. "Just shut up already." Alix entered the school building. Her day had already had an unusual start but she would try her best to get past it. She had more important things to do today. "Alright, so how do we think I that I managed to imprint Omnia Nexus on the air?"
"Again, I don't know much about sorcery, Lexi. Ya might as well be speaking in bubbles." Alix ignored the fish as she entered Professor Inengway's office to drop the fish off. The teacher had given her a key just before she left yesterday.
"You're probably going to need to drop the fish off in the morning anyway so you should have one for when I'm not there." She placed Mo down on table. "I'll be back later, Mo. These classes may be boring but they do sometimes offer interesting information. I will hopefully have thought of something during that time" Mo waved his fin at Alix as the girl left. "Good luck, Lexi!" Alix waved back and left leaving Mo all alone.
The fish looked around the room and sighed dejectedly. 'She coulda' at least gotten me some readin' material.' Mo swam in circles for a bit before settling down at the bottom of his bowl. Waiting for his dear friend to return. He had to admit it, without the girl around he was incredibly lonely.
Before he met her, all he had to do was swim in a massive empty lake all day. It was incredibly boring but there was nothing that he could do about it, as apparently all the fish had disappeared. Mo himself had never actually seen another fish here but that made sense seeing as he wasn't even from the lake but instead from the ocean.
"...wait a minute." Mo's eyes opened wide in shock.
He was from the ocean. It was a such a simple thought that he hadn't even realized that it had appeared. Mo remembered where he was from...well partially that is. That wasn't all though. He also remembered something- or rather someone else. A scruffy looking man with a triangle on his head- no it was a hat! A man with some sort of triangle shaped hat on his head!
But that wasn't all, there were more people. About thirty of them all of varying heights and races. All looking worn and sunbaked. And the voice...
"I don't care what ya say! I'm gonna keep Viola here and ya can't stop me!" The triangle hatted man shouted while clasping Mo in a clear bag tightly.
"Captain, you named it?! We just picked that fish up to eat! Why are you getting so attached to it!" A dark skinned, blue eyed man yelled back.
"Ya don't understand Rendrick. Look at his face. Look at how small and cute he is. How could ya eat such an adorable creature?" Rendrick stared at the triangle hat man awestruck. "You didn't seem to have that problem with the dame ya slaughtered at the village from three nights ago." The man froze at the words from Rendrick.
"Well she deserved it!"
"SHE GAVE US ALL OF HER STUFF!" Mo stared up at the man confused as he licked his inner lips. "Right...that part must have left ma' mind! But not this fish! Look at how innocent he looks!" The man presented Mo to the others who returned his smile with a cold glare.
"Wait, if we raided a village just three nights ago where did the food we got from there go?" Rendrick looked as though a vein was about to burst out of his head.
"Well, dear captain, you happen to have a ritual of banqueting immediately after a successful raid. SO OF COURSE WE DON'T HAVE ANY FOOD!!" The man winced. "Right, I forgot about that. But it ain't like this little fish could feed all of us any way. So no eatin' him!" The man called captain glared at all of the other men.
"Captain..." The voice of Rendrick's solemn voice trailed off as Mo was having trouble recollecting the rest of this scenario. That, however, wasn't important as Mo now loosely understood a bit about his origins.
"So I had a previous human compatriot. And it seems like that was where I learned to talk. Hmm, this seems like very important information. Right, Lexi?"
A sigh rang inside of the fish's mind. 'Mo, did you make that up so that I would come back to the room?" Mo was appalled. 'Why would I make somethin' like that up?!" Mo heard a chuckle in his mind and realized that he was being messed with. 'Ha ha, very funny Lexi. Anyway, triangle hat man was pretty funny. I can see the resemblance in me already!"
'All I heard was that you actually were a pirate at some point in time." Alix said curtly. 'Oh, was that what a pirate was?" Mo stated surprised.
'What did you think a pirate was?"
'I don't know. Somethin' like lil' Felix but with a pie on it." He couldn't see the girl but he could tell that she had likely face palmed herself at his response. 'What? I'd say it was a pretty reasonable conclusion to reach." Alix sighed.
'Sure is...for a fish that is." she said sassily. Mo scoffed, 'Well, a fish's impressions should matter more." Alix laughed again. 'Alright, Mo. I'll talk to you again when I get there later. I still need to work on my on projects."
'Fine~' Mo said with some reluctance. 'I'll see ya later." With that the fish was left alone again. "A pirate huh?" Mo thought more about the man called captain. He couldn't quite remember any of his facial features but his voice was very distinct and was still clear in his mind. "I wonder where he is now? And if I was with him in the ocean, how the hell did I end up in Nogreni of all places?"
Mo still had a lot of questions regarding his past, but with the comfort and support of his dear friend Alix he had a feeling that he would discover the answers to these questions eventually. For now he would just continue helping her whenever he could. He thought back to the name that he had been given by the pirate.
"Viola, huh? It was a nice name but..." Mo smiled as he thought back to a certain girl with pink hair.
"I like the one she gave me better!"
