"After that, I didn't see you again," Jawn continued, "and when we graduated from HAFA, I thought you'd end up as a mercenary or an agent. I was pretty surprised to see you enter the academy. Since then, it's like you've become a new person."
The last monster fell, and silence settled over us.
I could only smile at him, feeling a mix of nostalgia and gratitude. "People change for the better," I said softly.
We walked a little further before finally reaching our meeting point with the others.
"How come the two of you were the last to arrive here when you were the first to leave?" Troy asked, eyebrows raised.
"We were suddenly ambushed by monsters on our way back," Jawn answered casually.
Cypher, always pragmatic, nodded. "Now that everyone's here, should we discuss each path we took now or just send it to our group chat later?"
"Just send it to the group chat," Ezekiel agreed with a nod.
"Should we go have lunch? I'm starving!" Angela exclaimed, rubbing her stomach.
