Has the era of the Dragon Clan ended?
When did it end? No one notified her!
The shadow's mind was in chaos, suddenly feeling like the world line had changed, and she was the only one left behind.
Or maybe... the long-standing pressure of dragon slaying caused Hilbert to go crazy?
The shadow thought carefully. It wasn't impossible, and she looked at Hilbert suspiciously, trying to figure out how to phrase her thoughts.
"According to the agreement, I'll give you the Norton Dragon Bone Cross."
Hilbert couldn't be bothered to explain much and said, "As for the future... you'll see it with your own eyes soon enough."
"Aren't you curious about my identity?"
The shadow suddenly realized, after speaking, that she had asked a very stupid question.
"Not curious, you're just one of the four Dragon Kings, right?" Hilbert lit a cigar, who knows where he got it from, stylishly exhaled smoke, and casually said, "By the way, don't be late for class tomorrow, or I'll deduct your credits."
The moment the shadow heard this, she panicked.
She admitted that sneaking into The Ice Cellar was indeed a risky move, but with her black tactical suit and multiple disguises, she was confident she wouldn't be found.
But now, she wasn't so sure. Has she really been exposed?
"You... you!" The shadow opened her mouth, but then realized she had no idea what to say.
She couldn't just ask Hilbert directly, "Do you know who I am?"
That would be too stupid!
While the shadow was lost in thought, Hilbert flicked his fingers, tossing the cigar into a bronze tree's hollow, turned around casually, waved as a goodbye, and said, "By the way, when you leave, remember to put this place back the way it was."
"Yeah... wait, no!"
The shadow responded habitually, but quickly realized who she was—she was the Dragon King! Why was she speaking so submissively?
But when she looked again, she found that Hilbert had already disappeared.
In the empty bronze space, only she remained, staring at the ruined alchemical matrix. The thoughts and ideas that flooded her mind when she first infiltrated now turned into confusion and helplessness.
Hilbert—no, it should be Cassell College—did they discover her true identity?!
Was giving her the Dragonbone Cross a test, or did it no longer matter?
All kinds of chaotic thoughts circled in her mind. Finally, the young girl sighed, took out the bottle containing the Dragonbone Cross, and restored the alchemical matrix for The Ice Cellar. She carefully retraced her steps, cautiously heading back.
The next day, morning.
Although the leaders of the Student Council and the Lionheart Club were absent, the students still managed to secure their "Day of Liberty," and it proceeded as planned.
A shrill alarm suddenly rang out, echoing across the empty campus, as if a ghostly roar was racing through the air.
Lu Mingfei, who had just finished eating a large breakfast for dozens of people in the cafeteria, still had a slice of bread in his mouth.
As he stepped out of the cafeteria door, he saw a group of people dressed in black combat suits, holding firearms, emerging from the thick roadside bushes and trees. Without hesitation, they aimed their guns directly at him.
"Ah, almost forgot, today is the Day of Liberty."
In the moment the gun barrels aimed at him, Lu Mingfei's body reacted before his mind could catch up.
It was a reflex—instincts honed on the brutal battlefield, like killing techniques engraved deep within his bones.
He tilted his head to dodge the incoming bullet, then, with a powerful push, stomped hard on the ground.
Bang!
The solid, smooth road beneath his feet instantly caved in, like it was packed with gunpowder, sending debris flying in all directions.
The would-be assailants suddenly saw a flash before them. Then, a sharp whistling sound, mixed with a gust of explosive wind, slammed toward them.
In the last second before losing consciousness, they vaguely saw a young boy in a Cassell College uniform, with a handsome face, then felt a violent impact, as if hit by a heavy hammer. Their bodies flew backward, crashing into the trunk of a tree, and everything went dark.
Looking at the students flying in all directions, Lu Mingfei only then realized what had happened and slapped his forehead: "Damn, I hit too hard!"
But fortunately, Cassell College had relevant preset protocols, and these people weren't too badly hurt. At most, they broke a few bones and suffered some mild concussions afterwards.
Boom!
Another bullet whistled through the air.
However, Lu Mingfei seemed to have eyes on the back of his head. He tilted his head slightly and dodged the 'deadly' bullet.
Someone's sniping!
Lu Mingfei turned his head towards the direction of the bullet, narrowing his eyes into a slit. It was as though, despite the hundreds of meters between them, he was staring directly at the assassin.
The 'assassin' hiding in the tall clock tower saw through her sniper scope that Lu Mingfei was looking directly at her.
Although she knew the distance made it impossible for him to spot her clearly, she still felt a sudden chill, as if she were being watched by a terrifying predator.
"I need to relocate!"
The assassin decisively put away her sniper rifle and spoke through her earpiece: "First ambush position has been wiped out. Repeat, first ambush position wiped out!"
"Understood. Continue relocating, we'll handle the rest!"
The voice of Nono came through the earpiece.
"Second to tenth squads, move slowly towards the cafeteria, cover each other and advance in staggered formation!"
Wearing combat gear, Nono looked like a commander, her eyes fixed on the monitoring screen of Lu Mingfei as she issued orders with a smile.
Soon, Lu Mingfei sensed several hostile auras rapidly closing in on him.
"Lock on target, fire!"
"Brothers, charge with me! Take down the S-Rank!"
"Take him out!"
In the midst of chaotic shouts and killings, Lu Mingfei quickly saw several small teams surrounding him in a circular formation, constantly closing in on him.
"Fire! Fire!"
Their military skills were excellent. Though their slogans were different, their coordination was seamless.
Countless bullets crisscrossed through the air, whizzing past his head, forcing Lu Mingfei to hide behind the stairs next to the cafeteria, his mind filled with question marks.
Is this a joke?
Wasn't it supposed to be a stalemate, with both sides attacking and defending?
How did it suddenly turn into both sides chasing after him alone?
"S-rank, he hid in the corridor. Use the rocket launcher to force him out!"
Someone shouted, and Lu Mingfei instantly felt a chill run down his spine. He peeked out from behind cover just in time to see a burly man with a stubbled face, excitedly carrying an RPG launcher, aiming at his hiding spot, and then pulling the trigger with all his might.
The rocket whistled through the air, its tail flame expanding rapidly in his line of sight.
"Damn!"
Lu Mingfei rolled and scrambled with all his strength, dodging to the side just in time.
Boom!
The scorching heat wave whizzed past.
Before he could catch his breath, Lu Mingfei saw a few grenades arcing through the air, landing near him.
"Why is everyone targeting me?!" Luckily, Lu Mingfei was incredibly agile. With several tactical rolls, he slipped into another cover.
However, this wasn't a safe place either. He could already hear the sound of heavy footsteps approaching.
"Brother, it seems like they're all after you~" The mischievous little devil, never one to miss the drama, popped out and laughed loudly, "This is so interesting. On your first day in school, you get surrounded and beaten by the whole school. Go, brother, I'm rooting for you."
Hidden behind cover, Lu Mingfei took a few deep breaths and quickly regained his composure.
The scorching flames seemed to dance in his eyes, and an overwhelming sense of battle rage mixed with excitement filled him, giving him the illusion of returning to the familiar hellish battlefield.
Got back! Everything's back!
This feeling... it's simply amazing!
Lu Mingfei's whole body felt like every cell was burning. He shouted loudly and then charged out from behind cover. "For the Emperor!!!"
