The king was in his quarters conversing with Benjamin about the imminent plan for Father Roberts to visit the village Irvington. Another Lord had already taken over Irvington after approval from Sebastian. Lord Vincent Featherington.
The new Lord had paid his tributes to the king and had spent some days basking in the new status. After Irvington, he was next in line. Denver was a large kingdom and in it, every Lord had lands under their name and for the village Irvington once oversaw, he had more lands to his name than any other till his death. The lands which were Irvington's were now the king's, majorly because the king commanded it be so.
Lord Vincent was also well to do and had lands under his name and after Irvington's death he was the next man capable of taking over the position of "Lord" over the village.
"Send a letter to father Roberts. Tell him to arrive the palace quickly" Sebastian ordered and Benjamin bowed before walking off to do what he had been told.
At the same hour, minute and second, Mr Nolan and Mirabelle were on their way to the palace. Mirabelle had told her father about her recent dream about the king and they were on their way to relay it to the king.
After a long ride in their carriage, accompanied with Klaus, they reached the palace. Getting there, they encountered Father Roberts who had also just reached the palace. The grand beautiful gates were wide open to welcome them.
After entering the palace grounds, Mr Nolan's horse came to a halt and descending from the carriage was Mr Nolan and Mirabelle with the help of Klaus. Seeing Father Roberts, Mr Nolan quickly greeted. Hearing her father offer respect to the crown's bishop, Mirabel greeted also.
"Mister Nolan... right?" Father Roberts questioned. "Yes father, Mister Nolan!" Mirabelle heard her father affirm. "What brings you to the palace?" Father Roberts asked inquisitively. "Oh father, my daughter has a very important message to tell the king" Mr Nolan gently grabbed Mirabelle's hand. "Alright, I'm also here to see the king. We can both go in" Father Roberts offered a smile.
A messenger had long ran off to inform the king of the presence of Mr Nolan and Mirabelle after sighting them. Inside the castle, all four were made to sit in the throne-room for the king.
Few minutes later, Sebastian walked in through huge double doors that were opened for him by his guards. His steps were graceful as he walked towards his throne and sat on it. All stood in awe and respect as they bowed to Sebastian. Accepting their greeting, he gestured them to sit.
"Mister Nolan, what brought about the unexpected visit from yourself and your daughter". Sebastian perfectly masked his emotions. He was delighted and liked the fact he was seeing mirabelle's cute, innocent face more often but didn't show it.
"My Lord, we apologise for coming unannounced but my daughter had another dream about you that is akin to the last. It's getting concerning milord". Explained Mister Nolan.
Father Roberts turned to Mirabelle as he recalled the king telling him about the girl's first dream. It was rare and really concerning to have dreams like that.
"Milord, if I may speak?" Father Roberts turned to Sebastian.
"Go ahead" came Sebastian's reply.
"Lady Mirabelle, if I may ask. Have you had dreams like this about anyone else before?".
Mirabelle paused, deep in thought before answering " Thank you for letting me speak my king".
Sebastian smiled hearing her calm voice.
"When I was much younger, I did have dreams and things that seemed like visions about others but it was mostly about my family. The visions occured when I still had my eye sight though. Then these dreams and visions sometimes occur in real life. Days or even months after I've had it father".
Her words made Sebastian squint his eyes whilst keeping it on her. Father Roberts also stared at the girl as several explanations came to mind.
It was recorded in the old books and archives of Denver, accounts of seers being born once in two hundred years. These seers were mostly born from the home of peasants and other times from the home of nobles and were made to stand by the side of the king because their gift.
With Mirabelle sitting there, looking all frail and weak, Father Roberts and Sebastian had the same question running through their minds. But the girl was blind.
A typical seer in Denver was able to see visions clearly with their eyes open, not just in their dream-state. To others, they could sit and stare at something for so long but in reality, they were actually seeing a vision or trance but it would seem like they were staring into nothingness.
Knowing Father Roberts also had the same thing on his mind, Sebastian glanced at the crown's bishop. The atmosphere was so dense and Mirabelle felt uncomfortable; wondering what was going through the minds of the king and Father Roberts.
Being in the presence of this king made her feel small, scared and appear like a weak creature compared to him.
The dark aura around him was overwhelming, leaving the hairs on her neck erect. She wondered how her father had worked with the king without complaining even once about the king's domineering presence.
