Chapter 495 - Chapter CLXXXIII - Returning Home (part 1)

The entire space within the wormhole is so warpy.

I can feel the atoms inside my body getting pulled everywhere by an incredibly powerful force, but thanks to the body enforcing, I managed to keep my body in one piece. Luckily the force that is pulling me isn't that strong to be able to penetrate my protection, so I won't have to use the devil form to further protect my body.

The force from the surroundings pulled me forward, towards the deeper part of the worm hole, as if I am falling due to gravity.

The only difference between this gravity and gravity in general, is that this gravity doesn't just pull me towards one place. It feels like there are thousands and even millions of sources of gravity surrounding the path, which makes traversing inside this tube so unsafe. But thanks to my protections, none of those gravities can touch me.

The trip took only a few minutes, and I could already see the light at the end of the road. It's the similar light I saw when I first came to that grass area near Mazino.

This feeling… it feels almost the same.

The light gradually becomes closer and finally eats me whole. My entire senses got blinded, and I couldn't feel anything.

This is… so similar.

Did I just die… again?

My eyes slowly opened as I regained my hearing abilities. I tried looking around, but everything seemed very dark. I lifted my hand and formed a simple yellow fireball to look around, and I realized exactly where I was.

I turned on the switch on the wall, and realized I am actually in a bathroom.

A modern bathroom, complete with the shower, mirror, and the bottles of shampoo and soap.

So… it worked.

I am… back.

In my home world…

But… what the hell…? Whose house is this??

This must've been Ren's grandparents house. Seeing from how the wormhole connects his house and the other world, this must be his house.

I checked the surroundings using my senses, and realized that currently no one is inside the house. I opened the door from the bathroom and quickly nodded.

Yep, this is Ren's house.

The furniture is all different, but it's definitely his house.

I turned towards a nearby family picture that is framed on the wall, and noticed that the family looks nothing like what I remembered.

So… different owner?

Looks like no one is currently home. Lucky…

I went back to the bathroom and took off my armor to change into my old messed up jacket. It felt very nostalgic and weird to be wearing it, but I do realize wearing a full on shiny armor in this world is weird.

I kept the adventurer pants on, because from afar, they simply look like regular brown trousers.

After changing, I stood in front of the bathroom mirror and I stared at myself.

Looks like coming to this world didn't change my body. So what caused me to switch bodies?

I'm still red haired, and I still don't have a stick between my thighs. So… how exactly do I get my body back?

I should… investigate.

The place I died… and my home.

Yeah… home.

I put on the hood of my jacket to cover my abnormal red hair, and I wore a cloth to hide my face. It's still normal to wear cloth face masks, just not a full mask that is fully covering your entire face.

I need to hide my identity as much as possible, since I won't know what kind of abomination I could cause simply by existing in this world. If just a single person learned that there is a red haired female who can use godlike magic, a new religion might just form in my name.

I began confirming everything. My looks, my plans, and what I need to do here.

It's still unclear as to how I can go back to that world, but I will figure that out later.

And so, I began making my way out.

I tried opening the door's locks using my shadow magic, and I managed to succeed. I arrived on the road outside of Ren's house, and I looked around.

It's quite crowded, since Ren's grandparents house is located in a rather crowded housing complex. It wasn't expensive since the houses were so small. None of them had two floors, and every house was connected to one another without any space, unlike the houses in Mazino.

Ren's grandparents weren't that rich. But thanks to that, I was able to get this world's experience immediately.

There are… lots of people on the road.

Cars passing by, motorcycles loudly zooming on the road passing the cars by taking another lane, and people crossing freely out of nowhere on the small road without a single care of being hit by vehicles. The unbearable smell of vehicle smoke that polutes the air… oh my poor sensitive nose.

The barbaric environment of an urban road. This wasn't even a large street to begin with, and it's already this chaotic.

But, every street is like this. And it immediately reminds me of how much I disliked this country.

… Right.

I am… back home.

In my own world.

How long has it been…? 2 years? Minus two to three months, probably.

But, enough about that.

And so, I started walking.

As I thought, I won't be able to just fly everywhere since this city is very crowded. People will definitely realize a person is flying, and they will most likely record it and send it to the internet.

Even if I fly as quick as I can, there's just going to be some random security camera capturing a glimpse of my flight, and that alone is going to cause some problems.

So, I simply walked around. And it's not like I don't want to do it, since I also want to feel more of what my world feels like.

The people I walk past didn't seem to notice anything odd about me at all, so I'm glad. Covering the lower half of my face and my hair is a good idea, because at least now I won't have an appearance showing like some prostitute.

I looked around as I walked on the pavement. The sound of cars, the pollution in the air, as well as the people busy with their own daily life.

It's just like two years ago…

I am… back home.

It's my world. Everything here, it's as I remembered…

I walked past a lot of people, and I arrived at a rather wide shopping area right at the side of a wide street. There are a bunch of shop stalls that sell either clothes, food, or other necessities. It's not too big of an area, and it doesn't have many stalls. But, people surely flock to this place and park their motorcycles by taking a portion of the road space, all because the prices are very cheap.

Damn, I do want to wear new clothes from this world…

As I watched the people buy and sell things, I realized one thing that I am lacking currently.

Money. I don't have any of this world's currency on me.

Shit. Guess I'll just have to steal, huh?

It should be easy, considering how quick I am. But, not just anyone can be stolen.

What if he's a single father? Or she's the pillar of her family?

I can't steal from those kinds of people. Clearly, good villains have standards.

I began walking again, wondering which person I could try stealing from.

My eyes searched between the people, but then it specifically landed on a specific person.

She doesn't even have good clothes. Hell, I don't even know the last time she ate a decent meal.

She is sitting by the wall, not too far from the shop stalls where people are flocking at. Her hand is lifted forward forming a cup, supported by her knee.

An old female beggar.

My mind quickly resets and I forgot everything that I have thought about up until now. My body moved towards her unconsciously, and I walked past through the crowd of people.

How funny…

To think that I was genuinely thinking of stealing, only a few seconds ago.

How can I, someone who's young, healthy, and strong, ever think about stealing when someone like her who is old, dirty, and poor is still living like this?

I arrived in front of her, and I kneeled to face her directly. She noticed me squatting in front of her, and faced me dead in the eyes.

With my left hand, I took off the mask on my face. With my right hand, I dropped a single item. I'm not sure how this will help her, but it will surely do something to her in some way.

I am now much closer to her, and I managed to find her condition through my healing magic.

She was sick. So ill, that it's very difficult for me to list out all of her illnesses at once.

She is genuinely poor. Not a fake, so it was a good idea to make a move, after all.

"Thank you…"

She said after receiving the item from my hand, and I nodded. But right after that, she spent a flat two seconds staring at my face.

I ignored that stare and stood up, and I walked away before she could even say any more. I used my super hearing to check on how she is doing.

As expected, she is crying.

What a poor soul…

Her eyes were fully blind, so she couldn't see anything. The moment the item landed on her cupped hand, her eyes were healed in an instant, hence being able to see my face that was uncovered.

Certainly, seeing a pretty lady and red hair randomly healing you off of all your illnesses must've felt like a blessing from god.

But, I don't think that's why she cried.

She cried after a while, so it was certainly because of the items I gave her.

It's just ten gold coins.

How expensive could those be?

I grinned while thinking of all the good that old woman will have for the rest of her life, no matter how short it may be. And while thinking of the gold coins, I quickly realized something.

Right! Gold!
