Chapter 243 - Chapter 243 - How to Level Up Faster

Third person POV

"Ah, Lukas!" a voice called out to Lukas from the library. "Welcome back home."

"Hey, dad!" Lukas ran to that person, an Otherworlder named Jean-Max Konyvet, and gave a quick hug to him.

"How's your day?" Jean-Max asked brightly while putting away some books, all hardcovers.

"Oh, dad, Medusa was at it again."

 "Again? How many this time?"

 "4 to be exact."

"Come on, it's like the fifth time this week!"

 "Yeah…"

Seeing their conversation from the entrance of the library, Russell and his group were a bit stunned, and Russell himself wondered in his mind, "So that guy was the boy's father…" This was interrupted by Lukas, who offered hospitality to them. Russell snapped out from his flow of thought, and he and his friends accepted it and went in. A bit later, all of them are in the library's reading room, which have comfortable ottomans, armchairs, sofas, and even two sets of tables and chairs for reading. Lukas and Jean-Max offered some hot imported green tea as refreshments and some starchy and sweet brioche breads as snacks.

Russell and his group then got some and munched and drank on these good snacks. "First of all, I'm Jean-Max Konyvet, and this is my son, Lukas-Calais Konyvet."

"Nice to meet you guys." Lukas stretched a handshake to Russell and his group.

Russell and his group then took turns shaking hands with him and Jean-Max Konyvet.

 "Nice to meet you."

 "Greetings."

 "Hello there."

After that, Russell and his group said their introductions to the father and son, as well as where they came from and what are their occupations.

"Woah, a bus driver?" Jean-Max commented in shock and awe. "Like, are you that Bus Driver Hero?"

"Yes," replied Russell back, "did you heard about me?"

"Y-Yes, some of my friends and acquaintances told me about your heroic deeds."

 "Oh…"

"Wow, that was so cool, May-san," Lukas responded with a comment.

 "Well, um…thanks for that."

"So, what are you guys doing here in Kate-Raler?" Jean-Max asked, changing the topic fast.

"We're here for a nice and long vacation," Adrian responded back positively.

Cassius then nodded on his behalf.

Meanwhile, back in the Southern Plains, while Alvin was picking up some passengers somewhere in Rossley, some of the people were shocked to see someone other than Russell driving and operating a bus. So, some of them dropped bombs of questions to Alvin, who was overwhelmed by their questions. So, the young boy in his part-time job as a bus driver explained to them how he had done it.

"I am the not the Bus Driver Hero!" Alvin said to them strongly. "I was just his apprentice."

The people were stunned and dumbfounded, but they got what Alvin was saying to them and accepted it and even complimented his new line of work.

Alvin, in his simple, tailored uniform for his part-time job, was overwhelmed by the number of compliments he was receiving.

But nevertheless, Alvin went on his day and drove his route from Rossley to Ionawood City on his bus with 19 passengers onboard. In Fort Right, Kazi was studying and reviewing hard for the upcoming certification test by Russell in less than a week. Masha was in Quinn's house because her master's home was locked up for this vacation. Loukas was working a regular, low-paid job somewhere in Fort Right's Inner District.

Now back in Kate-Raler's Konyvet estate, Russell revealed to Jean-Max and Lukas about his previous life in detail while munching on brioche bread and sipping on green tea. A few minutes later, Jean-Max and Lukas were stunned that he was a Filipino in his previous life and how that background had shaped his character in this life.

Russell was not embarrassed and was proud without bragging.

Janet and Gregory then revealed their previous lives, much to the shock of the father and son of this estate's family.

Later on, Russell and his group stayed up in the estate for a while to explore around. Russell looked at his screen of the Renad System and saw that he was progressing slowly now as the next level becomes harder to level up. It had a catalog list of his side hustles, which includes being an escort and delivery driver. Seeing his progress slowing down, he was wondering how to get more points faster. And then, the system manager said to him back, "You can get more points by giving certifications to your apprentices, and more points can be gained with vehicles other than buses. You can just give vehicle manuals to those you see as trustworthy owners of them, too."

"Oh…" Russell replied back while getting what she had said and suggested, "…I'll try that."
