Gong Ting took Wei Anning back to the mansion. The owners, the Barnett couple, had already returned to their home country, leaving the sprawling estate feeling eerily empty, though plenty of servants still lingered around.
Wei Anning, lost in despair, sat on the sofa. Gong Ting sat across from her in a single-seater armchair, his eyes filled with concern as he looked at her. "Ning'er, I've arranged a private flight for tomorrow afternoon, heading back to the United Kingdom."
Wei Anning's expression shifted briefly before returning to an overwhelming emptiness. "Alright."
"Are you hungry? I'll cook something for you. Feel free to wander around, just don't go too far. I'll call you in a bit." Gong Ting stood up, removed his globally limited-edition wristwatch, placed it on the coffee table, and then turned towards the kitchen.
