Kaido wasn't sure if the other three Emperors of the Sea would agree to cooperate with him. He had no way of knowing their thoughts, but if he personally made the request, he believed they wouldn't outright refuse him.
With this in mind, Kaido decided to act. Since Arthur had descended from Sky Island to the New World, his presence would undoubtedly affect the balance of power here.
Kaido figured the other three Emperors wouldn't be pleased with Arthur's arrival either. Smirking to himself, he decided the first Emperor he would visit was Big Mom.
After making up his mind, Kaido set off for Big Mom's territory and requested an audience with her. However, her ministers and children hesitated before responding, exchanging uneasy glances. Finally, they informed him that Big Mom wasn't in her palace at the moment.
This infuriated Kaido. He was one of the Four Emperors of the Sea—one of the most powerful individuals alive. Being brushed off by Big Mom felt like an insult. Did she deliberately make it clear she didn't want to see him?
Kaido's voice boomed with rage as he declared, "Tell Big Mom that if she refuses to meet me, I'll raze this place to the ground! Don't underestimate my power. I'm not here to cause unnecessary trouble, but I won't tolerate being ignored."
Kaido's anger was barely contained. For years, he had roamed this world without a worthy rival, and his unchallenged strength had only made his temper more volatile.
After all, Kaido had no equal. Even with his explosive temper, no one dared to challenge him.
The people around him stayed silent, too frightened to speak. Hearing Kaido's threat, Big Mom's children became visibly anxious. If Kaido truly started an attack, the entire Cake Island would be reduced to rubble.
The eldest son stepped forward cautiously, forcing a smile as he addressed Kaido.
"It's not that we're refusing to summon our mother," he explained, "but she really isn't here. If you're looking for her, you'll need to search elsewhere. She's left Cake Island and isn't currently in the territory."
Kaido studied their faces, looking for any signs of deceit. After a moment, he snorted, apparently convinced they were telling the truth. He hadn't expected Big Mom to abandon her territory and go elsewhere. It was out of character for her.
Without another word, Kaido turned and left.
Once Kaido was gone, Big Mom's children collectively let out a long sigh of relief.
If Kaido had destroyed the island, they would've had no explanation when their mother returned. Big Mom was known to have extremely high expectations for her children.
If she discovered they had failed to protect Cake Island, her wrath would be unimaginable. She wouldn't hesitate to turn against them, even disowning her own sons and daughters.
For Big Mom's children, that would mean the end of everything.
"This is a serious problem," one of them said. "Where exactly did our mother go? If someone realizes she isn't here and uses this opportunity to attack Cake Island, we could be wiped out. Our priority is to find her and bring her back as soon as possible."
