"So what do you say? Is that a deal?"
Emily asked as she looked over at Alexandra with a smug look plastered across her face, arrogance oozing from her voice. She watched Alexandra's expressionless face and somehow thought that she must have been considering it and had been swayed by her generous offer and proposition.
Yet, much to her surprise, Alexandra thought otherwise, not budging a single bit as she remained unmoved by the offer.
"No," Alexandra simply uttered a single word, her dark brown eyes gleaming with defiance as she glared at the woman standing before her in the middle of the night. It was as if she wasn't even a little afraid of her or what she would do.
"No?" Emily repeated, echoing her reply as her eyebrows knitted together into a frown that was etched onto her face. "What do you mean no?" She questioned, arching an eyebrow at her, surprised that someone like Alexandra would dare defy her and go against her wishes, that's pretty much a death sentence for most.
