Chapter 182 - Water world(2)

The pure water flowed off the crystal and into the decanter slowly but continuously until it was full at which point I used my technique to force out all the air as the crystal sealed the water in. I placed the decanter in my loot sack before leaving through the hole I made that the dungeon was already trying to close. I stood in the tunnel outside the rapidly repairing hole and took stock of the monsters I knew of on these floors mentally. The monsters here were as expected mostly aquatic in design with a few exceptions after all.-

The first was a roaming type monster with no set floor it appeared on but was both highly prized and feared, the Poison Vermis. It was a slug type monster about three feet long and a foot thick at it's thickest which was by it's head. The monster had a strange mouth that looked like cartoonish kissing lips and two foot long eye stalks. The reason it was feared however is that to date only the Dian Cecht familia's Aermid could cure it's poison if you failed to resist it with abnormal resistance. -

The poison itself caused the flesh to decay slowly which meant a grewsome death if not treated with, ironically, the monsters fluids. These fluids temporarily halted the decay but didn't cure the poison so at best it gave you a better chance to make it topside to be cured. The bug monster was rated level three for this dangerous nature. The next monster was the Drag octopus that was a fan favorite to hate because of how it got that name. These monsters were like most octopi in that they were masters of hiding in the water and lurked near the edges of any of the waterways of these floors to literally drag people into the water.-

Once in the water most would agree you are kinda fucked because the chances of you getting back onto land are slim unless you either have the [Diving] developmental skill or can breath underwater somehow. Monsters underwater are of the swarming type typically so that anyone unfortunate enough to get dragged into the water stays there permanently. No one is quite sure what these octopi actually look like due to how they camouflaged themselves and go poof like every other monster when their mana stones are damaged.-

Next up we have the level three rare spawn monster that is worth a fortune, the Carbuncle. A fluffy green furred cat monster with a red stone on it's forehead that is it's only drop, the Carbuncle mystic gem. It spawns on the twenty fifth floor but has been known to wander and cause trouble using it's magic barriers that are as strong as those made by level four or even five mages. The rest of these monsters are the common ones that spawn in and make up the vast majority of the monsters for the water palace floors. -

Raider fish, large sharp toothed fish monsters with similar bodies to tuna in shape. Harpy, group type aerial monsters with women's chests and heads but bird wings and legs, spawn in groups. Sirens, same shtick as the Harpy but bat-like with sound based echolocation attacks. Blue crab, car sized crabs with one large claw that is particularly dangerous, classified as metal type monster due to durability. Aqua serpent, big ass light green scaled sea snake monsters that can get up to ten meters long. Crystal turtle, large type monster in the shape of a huge snapping turtle that has crystals growing on it's shell and is thus often mistaken for land, the reason people have trust issues on these floors.-

Devil mosquito, Ex-girlfriend vibes, big ass mosquitos that suck out your blood. Light quartz, buckler shaped crystal monster that shoots lasers at people, can be used as a shield in a pinch. Crystaroth urchin, demonic blue sea urchin meets sonic the hedgehog, spins rapidly to launch it's spines at you before eating you with a sharp toothed round mouth once you can't run dead or otherwise. Iguazu, flocking red sparrow monsters that suicidally launch themselves at you at the speed of mach Jesus till you die, considered death because too fast for even most level fives to keep up.-

Mermaid, normal shtick here, top half pretty girl bottom fish, super timid and rare, has magical healing blood stronger than most elixirs, impossible to catch in water. Merman, monster mix of a humanoid with a fish with blue scales and webbed hands that they use to hold weapons, has elite subspecies called "Merman leaders" that direct groups of lesser mermen. Kelpie, legit water horse with blue mane and hair but four fins instead of hooves, goes through water like a normal horse on land, level four monster. -

Afanc, closest thing to a normal fish you'll find in the dungeon, harmless unless in water with them. Dodora, sea elephant, level four, pretty rare but not valuable. Lamia, level four half snake half woman monster with sharp claws. Voltimeria, Coelacanth vibes, rock fish monster one to two meters long with eight fins and a single red eye on the center of it's head, can fly up to three meters up and only show up in places currents intersect, level four. Finally the monster rex themselves Amphisbaena.-

A two headed sea dragon of colossal size and a month long respawn time. Level five out of water but level six in it. Has two types of breath attacks, literal napalm fire and magic canceling bad breath. Also has this really nasty habit of going up the great fall when left to it's own devices to fuck up anyone it finds day. That big asshole is my main target for this expedition but I wasn't going to ignore the other monsters or resources either as this place was chalk full of useful shit. On an entirely related note I had to restrict myself from using my flames on these floors or risk causing everyone and everything on them other than me to get burned into ash.-

It was a rather annoying handicap to be frank and one I'd personally like to remove but knew I couldn't. It wasn't my fault my flames treated water like it was fucking rocket fuel and exploded everywhere, I had to live with it though. At least I had my ice and erasure so I wasn't totally stripped of my offensive cursed abilities. I took a deep breath and smiled, yes I think I'll have quite a bit of fun indeed on these floors.
