The flowing waters of a crystal clear sea, waves turning over themselves calmly as the sun just reaches its zenith shining brightly upon the land. Light reflecting off of the waves and hitting your eyes just before right with the lush blue color and relaxing noises of the sea. This was something that many had enjoyed about the sea and made it rather special to many. The many adventures held out there, and the grand discoveries that could be made just by crossing it and even more when looking within. Some even theorize that the greatest of all treasures lies within the ocean at the bottom portion that none have dared to reach.
Undyne, a fish monster born around the rushing waters of Waterfall herself had found herself fascinated with the ocean when she came to the surface. For one there are hardly any other fish monsters that exist within the underground, but on the more glaring reason why… Adventure. The Spear of Justice herself was one that was always rearing to do something awesome and dangerous within her free time, like the extremely hard act of cooking edible food in her case. Something that allows her to test herself and stretch her body perhaps even find out something more of herself or the world. Above everything else she enjoyed a challenge, and delving into the unknown presented just that.
Undyne stood by the ocean on a beach outfitted in a one piece that had a picture of a "SUPER AWESOME SHARK" as she said it. She looked at the ocean with a grin and punched into her palm like she was rearing to fight it.
"Alright sea, I shall find all of your secrets! You shall hide no longer and then I'll become queen of the land of waters NYAGHH!"
She would yell out as her arms shot into the air with excitement, other people just disregard her as if this wasn't the first time she had done something like this only rolling their eyes. Others encouraged Undyne with whatever she was doing with shouts of "You go Undyne!" Undyne felt herself content within the hope of the people placed onto her. She took one deep breath and then she was off to the races creating an enormous splash with her dive down into it.
Breaching the surface of the water, with the unmatched strength of Undyne, especially in the world of water. She sped off traveling straight down like an air strike quickly approaching the ground. With her speed the waters around her were disturbed for miles, the schools of fish she swam past were quickly parted to make way for her.
Her ways to the depths remained for the most part undisturbed, there were no creatures within the waters that could ever hope to match the immeasurable power that ignited her body and vigor that lit her soul. That was until she reached so far into the depths a sudden interruption landed onto her.
A gigantic shark like creature, its size was something that trumped anything that was on human record. The first display of what monstrosities truly lay within the depths. Undyne found her face suddenly turned upside down as a comical "bwomp" sound played. She could not stop herself as she sped right into the mouth of the gigantic creature which was wide open and slammed closed with her inside of its jaws.
For some time there was silence after the resounding crash of the jaws meeting together. This being until slow creaking of large teeth grinding against each other and the slow movement of its jaw like a rusty metal.
"I'm not going to accept an ending so soon ya punk! I still have treasure to find."
Suddenly with one triumphant push that seemed to take only a partial effort from the heroine of justice, the jaws of the beast fully opened and she swam out of them as they clamped back down on nothing but water and fish that had fallen into its path. Undyne quickly turned towards it as her eyes seemed to glow with a sudden jet of power. A fist smashing into the nose of the shark causing it to comically spin around and crash into a rock. It stuck its tongue out with a silly expression on its face detailing itself as dazed. Undyne smirked with an ingenious plan.
And in the next instance seen, Undyne was riding on top of the shark heading straight down as she roared with powerful joyous laughter as she gripped onto it. Traveling like a bullet for some distance until… CRASH. The shark had bumped into something and they bounced back. The strange thing that confused both Undyne and the shark was that there was nothing there.
The shark and Undyne scratched their heads in tandem. Undyne looked at it as if to see if it had any clue but the shark shook its head. Undyne would make a small grunt of thought, but she wasn't all too keen on doing that. She jumped into action to discover more leaping off of the shark and dropped down to where they had smashed into something. Undyne descended and hit something, it wasn't liquid but solid. Despite this it still just looked like a large expanse of water which confounded her.
"Is this some kinda barrier?" Her voice trailed off for a moment as a realization came to her. What if this was that hidden society she'd heard of before, and she could find such treasure down here. She just hoped that there was something that could help her get stronger. For her own sake, for Alphys, and for the whole world.
Her fist raised within the sea and suddenly slammed into the barrier before her, it formed a crack within seemingly space itself. With this she hit it and again, then it fully shattered as water suddenly rushed forwards hitting her into the hole.
"W-woahh! Hawhawhaw." Undyne would burst out from the sudden force slamming against her and trailing her forwards into this unknown place. Her eyes glanced over and right there was a sight that made her eyes almost spill into it out of her head. "It-it's real!"
In the distance she could see a giant sign that read the words "Welcome to Atlantis!" Unfortunately for Undyne before she was able to even fantasize about what could possibly be there, she had been suddenly dragged away by a current spiraling away at speeds that would normally tear someone asunder. Her eyes closed for only a moment and when they had opened once more she was in pitch black darkness.
"Adventure really is never that easy. No matter what, a greater challenge will not stop me." Undyne said confidently, putting her hands on her hips. She simply thought that the world was trying to test her, or something crazy like that. Undyne is not one that loses easily especially when the world is on the line. Her hand extended in front of her and her spear was summoned glowing a bright blue and ignited a path that stood out before her. She looked forward with resolute conviction for whatever was within this whacky underwater place.
"Turn back from where you have come, this lost place welcomes no more. The outside is forsaken to us and you shall be as well." A strange disembodied voice boomed throughout the caverns echoing even throughout the waters that filled it.
Undyne now held her spear closer to her and in a more combat readied position her steps becoming lighter whilst still maintaining a speed towards an opening she sees at the end of the hall.
"Hey I'm not here to cause any trouble, Just wanted to look around for something awesome down here." Undyne would get no response back as metaphorical crickets sounded with a slight disappointment from Undyne as she let out a brief sigh. "Well Alphys thought this would be a good idea." She murmured off to herself. Whatever was going on down here she'd find out with her own hands. Heroes do not turn away from adventure.
She paused within the beginning corridor and began to look around expecting something to be there, but instead it was simply nothing. She blinked and started looking around until she faced the way that she came. It was now blocked off and she had no way to leave anymore… stuck within a strange dark space. Suddenly blue flames that could spark even underwater lined the walls and lit up the scene entirely. Besides the roaring of the flames, Undyne felt like she heard the roaring of something more animalistic.
She was now face to face with a sea lion. Not the one you are familiar with, but a creature that appeared to be a lion of the land but a smidge larger. Its fur had a more flowing nature like liquid, and its orange had become more of a blue hue with luminescence flowing right off of it. Its eyes glaring towards the heroine with a dark blue hue piercing into her very soul. It snarled as if trying to further intimidate the woman who only looked agasp back at it.
The heartbeat of Undyne started to rise as it thumped through her body and the waters around her, it quickened to a pace as if she was in a state of great fear. It was the opposite. The warrior felt her spirit ignited by opposition, she needed to face ridiculous challenges like this if she was ever gonna have a chance against that mysterious dude, whatever his name is. Undyne let out a boisterous roar back at the creature as if she herself were some other kind of creature that wasn't a mere fish.
In the next moments the two would have started to literally wrestle. Tossing and turning in what seemed like they were cuddling with each other and trying to find a nice spot to rest. When putting two fearsome beasts against each other it can become quite stagnant as their strength collides and rams against each other. This being all until Undyne decides to stop playing around with the creature and usurps the greater power and tosses it against one of the walls around them. The lion lets out a yelp of pain it seemed that it would be done for!
Unfortunately it wasn't ever that easy. The lion started to run around the sides of the area with flame being absorbed right into its body. The fur on the lion ignited with a cyan blue flame, the concentration bubbling the water around itself with a great fervor. The blazing beast barged towards Undyne with its maw closed intending to smash into her like a rocket. Undyne made a swift movement off to the side yet still found herself singed by the flames that were on the lion. Immediately she shifted her attack strategy bringing a spear to her hand its magic lighting up the area once more her eyes swiftly latched onto the lion and she tossed it towards the creature, but it dodged. It seems more intelligent than at first glance.
Undyne set herself into a state of focus, if she could not win with pure strength then a warrior must adapt. A barrage of spears were tossed towards the lion who simply dodged each and every one flicking balls of flame back towards her and seemed to mock her with imitation of laughter. Undyne was singed even more as the water started to have a fragrant smell of cooked fish marred within its waters. Undyne tossed her spears once more, and as predicted the lion dodged them once more. This time something was different.
Undyne jumped right towards the 'Sea-Lion" as it charged at her simultaneously with fire coursing to its jaw ready to blow up right in her face. Shnk. This sound would be heard several times over, the sound of a sharp object piercing through flesh seamlessly as blood spurred from the back of the lion. The spears Undyne had thrown turned yellow and bounced right back planting into them. Undyne reeled their fist back slamming it into the nose of the lion and knocking it back into the wall again, this time permanently.
"What else do you want to throw at me with a weird voice from nowhere!" Undyne would yell out with her victory having been achieved.
