Chapter 29 - Third Floor

[Name: Dilev]

[Level: 30]

[Race: Earth Beast]

[Type: Worm / Earth]

[Affiliation: Wild – Floor Boss]

[Traits: Aggressive, Tunnel Dweller, Low Intelligence, Floor Boss]

[Skills: Burrow – Allows the worm to tunnel underground and ambush targets.

Rock Slam – Uses its heavy tail to strike the ground, dealing heavy damage.

Hardened Scales (Passive) – Slightly reduces all incoming physical damage.

High Reproducibility – Can reproduce continuously.]

Looking at the creepy, three-meter-long worm, I felt a sense of pride—this creature is the first insect-type being I've created since becoming a tower.

Unlike the other bosses, this floor boss is far more aggressive and dangerous. His mobility and ability to move underground make him much harder to deal with.

The challenge here is that players will have to find the boss before they can even fight him.

As I've already demonstrated on the first two floors, there's nothing pushing players to rush through and climb the tower.

Alfred took three years to clear the first floor. It's been four years since, and no one has cleared the second.

I need to increase the difficulty and spark competition among players, pushing them to surpass one another.

Besides creating the floor boss, I built a den for the worm to lay her eggs.

I also placed some hidden quests here and there, meant to shape unique players.

I've already buried a demonic sword in this area—it should be enough for now.

A C-grade item would cause chaos on the early floors, so it must be well hidden until the tower becomes more developed.

Of course, if someone is lucky or skilled enough to find it early, I won't interfere.

Looking back, maybe I should offer just a bit of guidance to help players along...

[Skill: Clan Messenger Bond]

[Type:] Clan Leadership

[Rank:] E++

[Cooldown:] Passive / Limited Use

[Cost:] Clan Authority (1 slot)

[Description: A sacred right given to clan leaders of established territories. It allows the leader to appoint a single player as the official Messenger of the Clan. This player is bonded to serve as the roaming hand of the clan's will—capable of travel, enforcement, and special missions.]

[Effects: Appoint Messenger: The clan leader may choose one player to receive the title of Clan Messenger.

Stat Boost (Passive): While within 200m of the bonded boss, the messenger gains +10% to all stats and immunity to fear.

Clan Link (Active): Allows real-time, long-distance communication between the messenger and the clan leader.]

[Limitations: Only one active messenger per clan.

The boss cannot leave the territory for more than three hours at a time.

If the messenger dies, the bond is severed and must be manually re-established.]

This is a skill I created for the leaders of the Panda and Peacock clans.

As players begin to learn either martial arts or magic, they must choose a clan to serve and train under. Talented players can be chosen as messengers, serving their clan's will.

Every clan has its own pride and won't allow another to trample on it. Clans will work hard to develop their students to shine against rivals.

"Let's add a little bit of entertainment..."

Using my Earth laws, the previously flat terrain began reshaping into a massive amphitheater, resembling a Roman colosseum.

This theater will serve as an arena—where players can test their abilities and fight each other.

Maybe a new gladiator will be born here...

Back to the First Floor...

It's been 12 hours since I left Arthur's body.

Time flies when I'm focused on developing my tower.

Knock knock...

It's unusual for someone to knock on my door.

Aside from Alfred, Zaine, and Marius, I have almost no contact with anyone else here.

Opening the door, I was greeted by an unexpected visitor.

[Name: Kudo Danjuro]

[Age: 21]

[Level: 5]

[Race: Human]

[Affiliation: Arm Hearts – Elite Trainee]

[Title: Prodigy of Steel]

[Techniques:] Historical European Martial Arts – 65% Mastery[Skills: Guard Crush (E): A brutal overhead attack that breaks an enemy's guard if their strength is lower. Cooldown: 45s.[Traits:] Calm Under Pressure, Blood of Commanders, Unyielding Focus]

Kudo Danjuro is a tall, well-built young man with sharp eyes and a serious expression. His black hair is tied back, and he always looks calm and focused. He wears a dark uniform with light armor.

"Arthur, right..."

Well, this is a huge surprise, to be honest.

"No need to be so shocked. I came to give you an opportunity—to join my team during the quest."

Danjuro showed incredible potential during training. He didn't earn his title for nothing.

His presence alone is overwhelming. Not quite on Alfred's level, but still worthy of praise.

"I don't understand what you mean by your team. Aren't we all on the same team for this quest?"

Alfred's secretary didn't mention anything about splitting into two groups.

"Of course, we're from the same guild. But even within guilds—just like in families—there are divisions.

I think you're smart enough to see the rivalry between me and Zaine. Once we leave the camp, we'll split up, and each team will act independently.

Seeing your reaction, I'm guessing Zaine hasn't approached you yet. So, Brother Arthur, will you consider joining my team?"

Humans will always be humans.

No matter the place or time, they'll have inner conflicts, rivalries, and schemes.

Suddenly, Danjuro—who had been waiting for my answer—turned his head, smiling.

"So the leader's son is thinking the same thing I am..."

From that direction, a familiar silhouette emerged.

It was none other than Zaine.

"You're good at holding old grudges, Danjuro. Just like your father..."

Zaine wasn't holding back his aura as he walked slowly toward me.

Leader's son...?Old grudges...?

Things are far more complicated than I thought.
