After Rihan opened his welcoming gift, he went downstairs to have breakfast. He was on the stairs when he already started smelling a delicious aroma wafting the air.
"As usual, she wakes up early," He smiled fondly as he thought of his sister. Their mother often went on business trips and their father is stuck in his workshop, so they only have themselves to rely on their daily chores.
They take turns in doing chores like cooking breakfast. At first he wanted to do it himself since his sister was young however she insisted on helping and after some talk, he relented.
"She's really reliable," He shook his head as he headed for the dining room, as with most modern houses now, it was adjacent to the kitchen.
From there, he saw a girl with long brown hair wearing an apron. She was so focused in her cooking that she didn't notice his arrival.
Rihan smiled and silently approached before greeting her upon reaching behind her. This girl was Yuuki Mikan but he was used to calling her just Mika.
She was his adopted sister – not because she was adopted but he was. After his parents died when he was 10, the Yuukis took him in since they were close friends with his parents.
"Good morning, Mika."
The girl was visibly startled.
"G-good morning, Onii-chan."
He smiled with a hint of mischievousness after seeing her startled. However he didn't continue teasing her and just started helping her to prepare the table.
The two worked harmoniously together as this was their daily routine. After that, they had a delicious breakfast before going to school.
.....
At Sainan high student council room, the student council president was working hard reading some documents which are some pleas, requests for budgets from clubs, etc.
Chitose's face was crunch up as if she swallowed something unpleasant. She still did her job...seriously, however forced it was. Beside her was a presence she felt like a devil king watching over her as she was forced to do her job.
"Rihan...?" Chitose gulped before hesitantly opened her mouth.
"What is it, president?" Rihan smiled brightly at his childhood friend and fellow student council member.
"...Nothing," Seeing him smile with such degree, Chitose didn't continue and went back to do her work. She knew whenever he smiles like that, she can't do anything about it.
Rihan on the other hand took out his phone and saw the other members active aside from Sairaorg and Rin.
[Gintoki: So you're some kind of goddess? And your work involves guiding souls in the afterlife?]
[Aqua: Hmph, of course. I'm a true blue goddess! Have you finally realized my greatness? Then how about worshipping me?]
[Gintoki: No thanks, I don't really care about the whole god business.]
Rihan was amused seeing Aqua trying to get someone to believe in her.
[Rihan: Same for me, it's actually my job to slay gods that invade Japan since they bring forth disasters whenever they manifest.]
[Gintoki: You mean your previous nickname wasn't just you being chuuni?]
[Rihan: Yes]
[Aqua: No way, I don't believe it.]
[Rihan: It's up to you whether to believe it or not.]
After the brief chat, he put back his phone in his pocket.
"Ne, I'm done..." Chitose had lifeless eyes as she laid her head on the desk. Despite just doing some left over work, she felt mentally exhausted.
Rihan nodded in satisfaction and grabbed the documents.
"Nice job, president." He said before walking out the room to deliver the documents to the faculty office.
....
'At least I manage to rest for a bit.,' Rihan thought as he walked back home.
As mentioned previously, he does the majority of the work of the student council along with the other members except their president.
Add on to the fact that he recently became a Campione, his work has been increased. Some might wonder why doesn't he just force the president to do her work? He could certainly do so as evident from earlier but honestly, he can't expect her to seriously do her work if he let her be.
The case earlier and a few in the past only worked since he was reprimanding her after a mistake so she complied to him having her do her work. Such is the president of the student council – Chitose, she was whimsical like her friends.
And Rihan is someone that would see through something he starts, so always does student council work. That was just his nature that was nurtured in his past life.
Also, he may be serious most of the time but he wasn't serious all the time, there is a time and place for things after all. In fact, he loves to laze around whenever he can.
"I wonder what Mika cooked?"
His musing was interrupted as he noticed a black sedan stop beside him before the window slide down revealing a familiar man on the driving seat.
"Is there an urgent emergency, Amakusa-san?" He asked while sighing inside thinking of what could the trouble is again.
"Nothing of the sort, your majesty. I was just passing by when I noticed you. How about a ride, my king?" Amakusa smiled amiably while adjusting his glasses with a finger which gave a glint.
Not one to refuse the invitation he nodded.
"Please help yourself at the back," Amakusa said.
Rihan just opened the door and notice another passenger seating at the back. It was beautiful girl of his age with a thigh-length light, brown hair with square bangs hanging over her forehead, brown eyes, and a somewhat fragile yet alluring figure.
She wore a shrine maiden's attire along with the unique magical aura she emits – gave away her identity.
"A hime-miko (princess shrine maiden)?" Rihan was surprised a bit. Hime-Mikos are after all very high ranking members of any magical society they are part of, in this case – Japan's Supernatural World.
"Yes, please let me introduce you to Mariya Yuri," Amakusa introduced the girl.
"Please to meet you, your majesty. I am Mariya Yuri," The girl bowed her head to Rihan though the latter noticed she seems to be scared of him or at least feels some kind of repulsion.
"Please to meet you too, Mariya-san." Rihan didn't dwell on it nor did he ask her. He simply went inside and sat quietly beside her.
Seeing this, Amakusa's smile stiffened but maintained his composure. He then started driving the car.
'It seems Yuri still thinks all Campiones are the same. I can't blame her, honestly,' He thought.
Campiones are after all seen as disasters, much like how heretic gods are and most of them are tyrants. However, they are seen as a necessary evil as they limit magical disasters brought by heretic gods, manifesting in their world.
In the case of Mariya Yuri, she had an encounter with a certain Devil King which left a deep scar in her.
.....
"Thank you for the ride, Amakusa-san."
"Your welcome, your majesty." Amakusa smiled respectfully before driving off.
Rihan watched as the car disappeared into the horizon before opening the gate and walking in. As he walked inside their home, he headed straight into the living room where he saw Mikan serving some drink to another girl.
The other was a beautiful girl with long black hair in hime cut and red eyes. She wore the school uniform of girls from Sainan High. Rihan also noted that her body was far more developed than their peers.
"Ah, welcome back, Onii-chan!" Mikan beamed upon seeing her brother.
"Who is this?" Rihan asked, not taking his eyes off the new girl and more importantly the long thing wrapped in clothes that she carries.
"Isn't she your friend...? She said —" Mikan paused. She realized her mistake but then she felt weird, why would she let in someone just because they said they were friends with her brother? 'That's weird...' She thought.
Mikan doesn't easily let someone in to their house but thinking back on what happened earlier, it's as if that didn't apply to the girl. The latter just popped up at their front door saying she was the friend of Rihan and Mikan just let her in without further thought.
"Mikan, can you go up to your room? Don't come down before I call you," Rihan suddenly appeared beside Mikan.
"Ah o-okay!" The girl didn't notice him move but attributed it to her being dazed. She then rushed upstairs to her room.
Seeing Mikan was gone, Rihan turned his sight towards the girl who was still smiling.
"I thought I already mentioned for anyone of the supernatural world to not approach my family."
After becoming a Campione and knowing what it entails, Rihan's first order was that anyone from the supernatural world not to approach his family to hide the hidden side of their world. He didn't want them, especially Mikan to be embroiled in their business.
On the other hand, the girl shivered upon hearing Rihan speak. The aura he leaks was extremely scary from her perspective. Cold sweat trickled down her forehead but when she was about to speak, Rihan spoke first.
"Speak. If your answer doesn't satisfy me, don't even wish to leave here alive even with that divine weapon." Rihan's gaze trailer towards the thing wrapped in cloth. His instincts as a Campione tells him that thing was a divine weapon or authority.
"What does a hime-miko doing in our home? And to think you also used hypnosis on my sister." He gave her a smile with a tranquil expression which further send shivers through the girl.
She hurriedly bowed and spoke, stuttering. "P-please fo-forgive me, your majesty. I only wished to meet you sooner."
She sincerely said without a shred of lie.
"...We're you under the orders of the HCC?"
"Y-yes" Ena didn't dare to lie, not in front of the king ruling over Japan's supernatural world.
"I see... however that doesn't excuse you for this transgression." Rihan sighed mentally before calming down himself. He finally pieced it all, why he met Amakusa on his way home and that other hime-miko. "...Leave that divine weapon here. I will return it back when I deem it appropriate."
"Yes!" Ena handed unwrapped the cloth and revealed a sword. She handed it to Rihan respectfully.
"...Power over wind and thunder? No storms..." Rihan muttered as he grabbed the sword. He then turned to the stiflly standing Ena. "...You can leave. Remember this is the only time I will permit this. I won't care what you do as long as it doesn't put my sister, friends, or parents in danger."
"... Understood, your majesty. Please allow me to apologize."
Rihan just waved his hand and turned away. Ena seeing this didn't linger anymore and left.
"Haa... troublesome," He muttered as he carried the sword. He clearly felt it's divine nature and the dangerous aura it exudes but his own aura suppressed it. "Why does she carry something that clearly harms her body?"
He shook his head before heading up and putting the sword in his room. He the walked to Mikan's room and knocked on the door.
"Mika, let's eat dinner."
*Creak~*
Mikan slowly opened the door.
"...Onii-chan, you didn't know that girl?" She cautiously asked.
Rihan just smiled at her before patting her head softly.
"Don't worry about her, it's all settled now. Come on, let's just eat our dinner."
"Okay..."
.....
Sainan High, Class 2-A~
"Today, I'll introduce to you two transfer students. Please welcome them," The adviser of 2-A said followed by her students murmuring, obviously curious about the new students.
Soon enough, two beautiful girls walked inside. One of them was a girl with a thigh-length light, brown hair with square bangs hanging over her forehead, brown eyes, and a somewhat fragile yet alluring figure.
The other being a girl with long black hair in hime cut and red eyes. Both of whom are familiar faces to Rihan who sat at the left most seat in front, beside the window as he met them just yesterday.
"Um, my name is Mariya Yuri, please to meet you all." The brown haired girl came first followed by the other girl.
"Nice to meet you, everyone, I am Seishuiin Ena." She gave a bright smile, instantly capturing the admirations of the hormonal teenage boys.
Rihan on the other hand was a bit surprised but didn't show it on his expression. He just glanced at them before ignoring the two.
Ena on the other hand, smiled back at him when she saw him looking their way.
This little exchange was noticed by a certain small blonde girl sitting beside Rihan. This girl being Shibasaki Roka.
'Th-that's— I need to tell Chitose!' She noted mentally.
"Ahem, then you can sit behind Yuuki-kun, Seishuiin-san and you can also take the seat beside her, Mariya-san. The students sitting there suddenly transferred yesterday so those seats are free."
"Thank you, sensei!" Ena Seishuiin beamed as she stride to her seat. "Good morning, Yuuki-sama." She said softly as she passed by Rihan. It's as if nothing happened between them yesterday.
Following Ena was Yuri who politely greeted Rihan as well. As the two took their seats, the class begun.
