Sebastian sprinted toward the main entrance. The heavy doors were closed shut, showing no signs of having been barred from the other side.
However, if it did, it would imply that Rebecca was really there. The fangeds around here also hinted at that possibility, since they were waiting like sharks around a boat.
Renewed hope filled Sebastian as he quickly approached the gate. But one of the tier-1 fangeds came back to the area as he was halfway through.
Sebastian didn't know if it had gotten tired of chasing the illusion already, if it had sniffed his scent, or if it had heard him run.
Regardless, the beast noticed him making a run for the entrance, and after having spotted the potential prey, the creature chased after Sebastian.
"Stupid overgrown lizard," Sebastian spat as he kept running. The fanged paid no heed to his insults.
Its eyes fixated on the meal before it. Saliva dripped from its gaping jaws as it gained speed, closing the distance between them at an alarming pace.
