"I am dead."
Indeed, you are.
"Where am I?"
The Void.
"But I died there."
You died in a mimicry of it, to another mimicry.
"Who are you?"
A servant, like you.
"Why are you talking to me?"
Because someone wishes to speak to you.
"Who?"
Then silence reigned once again. I started crying.
"I failed… I failed them all. I couldn't do it. I couldn't win. I failed again and again and again, but this time, there's no coming back. I… I'm a failure of a sovereign. I can't even defend one of them. The one time I'm faced with a true threat and I fold, I get killed."
Why are you crying, child.
I looked around in confusion at the soft voice. It was as powerful as a hurricane despite its softness.
"Who said that?"
I did.
"Who are you?"
I am.
I realized right then who was speaking.
"God."
Indeed, I am that I am.
"Why are you talking with me?"
You must not give up.
"But I'm dead. I can't do much now."
Do you forget who I am.
"No-"
I am God, I created the land, the sea, time, the leviathans, the insects, the man and women, and far more.
"I understand this."
Then why do you question my words.
I realized what was done. What I had said.
"Please forgive me-"
There is no need for you to beg. Come closer.
There was an unimaginable power with every word said. A sureness, He never asked, He simply spoke. He was not visible, but I could see Him anyway. His hand, like a torrent, descended softly. The moment His hand lay on my head, I felt all sorts of power echoing through me.
"Why are you empowering me?"
I am not. I simply am giving you the push you needed this whole time.
"A push?"
Do you know why I declared you the sovereign of that realm.
"That was you?"
Celios tried limiting my control as much as he could, but I still gave my influence. I named what must be named.
"Then why did you name me the Sovereign, and why did you name my faction Garden?"
Do you not know.
I was confused, then I realized.
"The Author has lost his place, because he embraced sin. So I am the Sovereign who will take his place, and in the Sovereign's Garden lies the future. I am the bringer of the future, and the faction is what I will use to bring it."
He smiled, I couldn't see it, but I simply knew that the Being before me smiled.
You do understand. Thus, I grant you a blessing. As you want to fight on your own power, I won't empower you, but I will enhance your mind. You are now able to stop holding back.
"Thank you."
It is no issue, child. Now, as the One True Sovereign, I give you one command.
I nodded, ready to do anything that He commanded of me.
Fight and Win.
"Your will be done."
Then I woke up.
{Disappointing, really. She opened herself up to an easy kill. The fact that she survived this long is shocking.}
Peccatum was mocking my death to the people who were sobbing. Gabriel, who was already nearly dust from the curse of supremacy, was the only one keeping him from continuing.
"Don't mock her, you beast."
{Goodness, what's with all of the hostility? So what if she died? She was pathetic, a mockery of true supremacy.}
"Don't accuse me of your own sins, Peccatum."
He blanched and spun quickly. Everyone's faces began smiling as I walked out of the void, sword in hand, my aura echoing.
{Phobos?!}
I smiled. Dallel whooped in joy.
"You are pathetic. A fiend that proclaims sovereignty, but you forsook that throne the moment you forsook Him."
He understood my meaning and stepped back. Then Luma finally announced.
[The Sovereign has gained the Blessing of the One.]
"The One?"
The strange title caused people look around, but Gabriel and Michael knew exactly who that was, and they smiled. Amy did the same, her smile was even greater than theirs.
Peccatum also knew exactly who He was.
{You met Him… No… your death was to prevent that exact scenario!!!}
I smiled.
"Yet, it was my death that allowed me to meet Him."
Then Peccatum smiled.
{But, if you beat me, it isn't your power anymore.}
I laughed, causing him to be concerned.
"Oh, please, all His blessing did is allow me the mental strength to truly fight."
Then we were once again in the void.
Except this time, it was in the true void.
"You… you bring me here?!"
"Yes, because now you can pull no tricks, no cheats. It's you versus me."
His true voice was feeble, like a chattering child.
"Fine, then I will kill you here, and let your Master see you be ripped apart."
He leapt at me, and the true final battle begun.
