SPECIAL CHAPTER: TALIA'S POV
The apartment felt too quiet without Imogen and Joseph. I curled up on the couch with a bowl of leftover pasta and flipped through the channels until I found some romantic comedy I'd seen a dozen times before. The predictable plot was comforting. Boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back. Simple. Safe.
I pulled the throw blanket over my legs and settled in. It was nice having the place to myself for once, even though I missed the sound of Joseph's laughter and Imogen's constant worrying. They were probably having dinner at Isaac's fancy house right now. Playing happy family.
The thought made me smile. Imogen deserved this. She deserved to be happy after everything she'd been through. And Joseph needed a father figure in his life. Isaac seemed like a good man, even if he did come with enough baggage to fill a cargo plane. But so did Imogen.
