Forcing my lids open, I stare up at Darius who is now carrying me. A second after he woke up, all my strength seeped away and I fell unconscious.
The time I've been unconscious is a mystery to me, but judging by the fact that we're still walking and Darius is still covered in dried blood, I believe it hadn't been too long.
Good.
I sink into Darius, holding onto him so tight I never wish to let go.
"You're awake." Darius whispers to me, his voice calm and gentle, like he hadn't just been through hell.
Unable to use my voice as of now, I link our minds together, then I speak.
'I am.' I say, my mind's voice still strained.
'I've missed you, Abigail,' he says, his voice gentle and somewhat smug.
'The way I've felt for you, couldn't possibly be justified by words alone Darius,' I hold him tighter. 'I felt like I'd go mad, like I'd shatter into pieces. And I hate that I couldn't let myself do so. I…felt like dying every day I wasn't with you.'
