Jessica's offer was pretty sudden, certainly not what Yamato expected to have to deal with today. It would be best to stall time for now, as rushing could prove disadvantageous later.
"Could you let me talk to her, before you report her, I mean?"
"What for? She is dangerous, and I don't want you to get hurt…"
"Trust me, it will be fine. It would really help me to hear her side of it… So if you could just wait until tomorrow?"
"I don't know…"
"Please, I know we don't know each other, but it would really help me out."
"I… Fine… But only until tomorrow…"
"Thank you so much. I really appreciate it."
"Just… Don't make things more complicated than they already are."
"I won't. I promise."
There was a quiet sound in the bush behind the bench, then another one that sounded loke a squirrel or something. Yamato thought there weren't any animals on school grounds since there weren't any on exam grounds eigher, but apparently there were. He got up from the bench and walked back to his dorm, where he would have to come up with a solution to this problem. Once he entered he was expecting Yuki to be awake by now, which apparently she was as she was no where to be seen in his room. He even checked under the bed just in case but there was nothing. All that was noticeable was that the window was open. Even though it was not that unusual for her to come and go as she pleased, now was not a very good time for her to disappear. But there was nothing to do about that now. He just let himself fall onto the bed, trying to think of ways to get them out of this mess.
"…"
There was nothing. Not until he knew who else saw them, or who Jessica shared her information with. He would have to talk to each student of class 1 individually, then make sure each would be silenced. All in one day, that was already half over. So half a day. If he had Yuki, maybe. But since she decided to leave, it was impossible without getting lucky at the first few tries. In addition to that, he and class 1 were not exactly on good terms right now. Even though Jessica did not seem to be as hostile as he expected, he believed her to be the exception.
What a dilemma.
But how was it out of Yuki's perspective? Once Yamato opened the door to answer Jessica, she immediately latched onto them and followed them as they went outside.
"Look at her flirting with him! I can't believe it! But he stays strong and doesn't give into temptation, just for me~… Ah, I love you too, Master… But what kind of evil monster would destroy our perfect togetherness… Are you in danger? Should I take care of it? You look uncomfortable… You must want to get out of there… Much rather be with me… But why aren't you? What does this slut want, that you can't refuse… I must get closer to hear about their conversation."
Yuki sneeked into a bush behind the bench Yamato and the girl were sitting on, now being able to tell what they were talking about. She almost burst a blood vessel when she heard the offer the girl made to Yamato. Yuki pictured jumping out of the bush and ripping her head off, then getting praised by Yamato and receiving head pats. But of course she knew that he would not be happy about that at all. She still pictured it in her head to cope with the situation. She suddenly felt something brushing by her leg, which startled her slightly causing the bush to move and make a slight, noticeable sound. A squirrel. She tried to move it away with her foot but it got closer, so she got increasingly rough. Then it bit her. Yuki didn't make a sound but her eyes turned black as she ran out of patience and snapped its neck, it only making one last squealing sound before going limp onto the ground. Unfortunately that was when Yamato stood up, making him look over to the bush. But Yuki seemed to be hidden well enough to even go past his observant gaze, or so she hoped. The girl on the other hand stayed on the bench for a little longer, seemingly displeased with how the conversation went, which Yuki found offensive.
"How dare she not be bursting with happiness after being alone with master!? And that offer… He seemed to stall time, but she mentioned multiple people knowing about my actions… Even if it's just speculation, once it hets investigated they will see how things don't add up! Master… This is all my fault… You told me not to, but I failed to follow your instructions… Now she wants to break us apart… And take my place! Not as long as my heart is beating, for master, bitch! Don't worry about anything… I'll take care of it, like you took care of me so often… I have until tomorrow, even that time was a gift from you. I will make you proud… For that, I will do whatever it takes… Whatever it takes…"
The girl finally stood up and walked behind the dorms, to a maze garden which Yuki never entered before. But she would now, as she would follow her until she had what she wanted. As Yuki followed her, in full camouflage outfit that she got who knows how, she saw her meet up with a guy that seemed to be in on it. She was close enough to listen to their conversation.
"How did it go with Yamato?"
"Uhm… Good, I think…"
Yuki was about to burst another blood vessel as she saw her blushing when talking about Yamato. Having dozens of violent fantasies at the moment.
"You think…? What did he say?"
"He asked for a little time. And I want to give it to him."
"What? What does he need time for? We are taking a risk just talking to him about it before hand. Is he not at all grateful for that?"
"He is! He was very thankful. But I think you don't get how much it is… We just told him his friend killed someone and covered it up! I was surprised by how well he took it. Giving him a chance to ask her himself is the least we can do."
"He wants to talk to her?! Then she will know we know! There's no way we can let him!"
"I'm sure he won't mention us! And he also promised it would not escalate."
"Oh, he promised? Well, then let's just trust him and do something else while we wait. There is this great book I found, why don't we read it together, I'm sure it will make the wait feel like nothing. While we are at it, let's also-"
"-Alright, I get it! Don't forget to breathe during your enlightening speech, asshole."
"I'm the asshole?!"
"Can you just quit bitching around, I have it under control."
"No, no you don't have anything under control, Jessica. Telling him was not what we originally planned, but I let it slide because you wouldn't let go of it. Now it's waiting a day. Tomorrow it's something else. I won't compromise on this!"
"Well, you'll have to, Jack! Or else…"
"Or else what, huh!?"
"Or else I won't support you when you claim to have seen something. I might as well just say you were high and just saw things."
"You…-"
"-Just… Wait. One day, that's all I ask. I promise no more compromises after that. Okay?"
"…Alright… Just this one fucking day!"
He stormed off visibly frustrated, leaving Jessica with a sigh of relief. Yuki found this very insightful.
"Hmmm… It looks like she actually cares about Yamato… That Jack guy might like Jessica. Jack… What a generic name. I hate him already. But a love triangle! No, wait, I'm there too. It's a love quartet! But whatever. Judging from the way they talked about it, and it just being them, I dare to assume that it is just the two of them we need ti worry about. Though Jack seems more dangerous than Jessica at the moment… I'm sure master can persuade her to let it go with enough time… She actually seems alright… Buuuut I'm not willing to share! And as a rival she is actually the worse threat, fuck Jack! My target stays Jessica."
Yuki followed Jessica to her dorm, and memorized the room so she knew where to look for her or do other things with the information. For now, she should report to Yamato. He must be worried sick for her, she hummed to herself. She did leave without a goodbye note. As she hurried back to her beloved, she met Arina on the way.
"Oh, hey, Yuki. Do you have a moment?"
"Uhhhhh… Maybe? I decide while walking!"
She walked past Arina but grabbed her arm and dragged her with her.
"What is it, quick quick!"
"I have a severe lack of my master, I might show symptoms of withdrawal soon and turn crazy! Master… It's been an hour or so and I miss you infinitely!"
"About that sword you gave me, you said it was a summon and therefore counts as magic rather than a regular weapon."
"Yup. So?"
"I was wandering about it… While I fought with it, at some point it created like a… Small explosion? I'm not sure myself what it was."
Yuki stopped, slightly confused and with an unreadable expression.
"It… You made it charge up?"
"Yes! That's exactly how it felt like! You know about it?"
"That's…"
"That's not supposed to happen with her! They shouldn't react to humans at all besides from being indestructible! I have to report!"
Yuki started walking again, even faster now.
"Oh well, haha. That's totally normal. Don't worry about it, Arina!"
"Are you sure…? It felt weird…"
They arrived infront of Yamato's door.
"I'll tell you more about it later okay? Right now I just have to-"
As she had opened the door halfway, she slammed it shut before Arina could see inside. Yuki's thoughts started racing.
"...…What the fuck?!"
