Micca looked to Liam and gave him a nod of appreciation then allowed himself to pass out on the ground.
Micca woke up shortly later with a foot in his side. He looked up and saw a rating with a mop badge on.
"Hey, get up. I need to clean this floor."
Micca slowly got up and looked around the hallway. There were many ratings with the mop badges cleaning up the scene. Some had mops and others had large buckets on wheels that they were throwing the dead bodies from the scene into. There were some medics around as well which tagged anyone unconscious or dead with tags that appropriately marked them.
Micca looked around and didn't see anyone from his crew in the hallway besides a couple of the dead, including Vog. He made his way towards where he remembered their room being. When he arrived the door was closed and there was no way he could open it as it required a keycard. He looked in through the window in the door and could not see anyone within the room.
Unsure of where else to go, he started making his way towards the cafeteria. He passed by more of the cleaning crew and medics as they continued tending to the dead, dying, and residue from them. There was no one in the cafeteria either. As Micca was completely lost on where to go now, a petty officer came up to him.
"Hey, were you part of the boarding action here?"
Micca gave him a quick nod.
"Come with me. The captain has arranged an awards ceremony for those involved."
Without missing a beat the petty officer quickly went on his way and Micca hurried to follow him with his sore and beaten body. Micca quickly recognized the path as the same one he initially came to Cannon 13 on, but this time they were going in the opposite direction. He was careful to pay attention to as many details as possible to learn the layout of the ship and what kinds of rooms were here.
He noticed what was likely Beno's room with the same cargo symbol as his badge on the door and crates being able to be seen through the window. Another room seemed like Kimi's with a letter symbol on that door, but it didn't have a window on it.
Other rooms were there as well with less obvious purposes to Micca. One had a wrench which was most likely some type of engineering, another had a drop of water, and one had a robotic arm.
They arrived to the meeting space that had the initial orientation for Micca and the petty officer sent Micca off to find his crew and ran off towards the front of the crowd. Micca looked around for his crew in the rows of people standing in formation and eventually saw them towards the back. He went up to Petty Officer Liam, who gave him a look of appreciation, and was quickly directed to a spot in the line that was made to accommodate him.
Micca fell in line and directed his attention to the stage, but out of the corner of his eyes he could see some members of his crew looking over at him. After all, Micca probably managed to perform the best in the fight, alongside Vog, and he was almost killed.
Shortly after, Captain Reiko appeared on the stage. The stage was much shorter than last time, clearly made in a hurry for this impromptu assembly. Reiko coughed into the mic and quickly the room became silent, with no assistance needed from the security officers.
"I want to thank each and every one of you who bravely participated in the boarding action. The pirates who came aboard this ship were ferocious and vile in how they conducted themselves, but I am told that many of you, including some of our newer recruits performed admirably against them. "
Reiko looked around with a face of admiration and if it was real or for show, Micca couldn't tell.
"In honor of your exemplary performance, I have arranged a feast! along with a week long break from duty for all those present here. And the wounded of course. They will receive the same treatment once they are recovered."
The captain was met with cheers and clapping as he ended his announcement, mostly from the more veteran crew. Micca noticed that Liam wasn't expressing any joy at this proclamation himself.
Reiko spoke up again as the cheering died down. "For those of you who are new and don't know, you may line up behind a Petty Officer calling out your cafeteria designation. Then you will be escorted to your cafeteria and your feast will begin. Enjoy."
