Like the stellar team that they were, the Uventus team patiently passed the ball around exchanging the ball carefully among themselves and avoiding their opponents' tackles, slowly working their way forward, but the Madrid team was no soft persimmon and fought back hard by closing up the space and blocking the passing lanes, cooling off Uventus's initial attack.
The Uventus players were not ones to give up though and the ball was soon passed forward to Chiesa, who tried to break away from his marker with a dribble, but under the combined pressure of Isco and Modric, he lost the ball and the Madrid team, causing a turnover.
Kroos immediately got the ball under control and tried to kickstart a Madrid attack with a splitting pass forward that almost made it all the way behind the Uventus defense line but was intercepted by Bonucci at the last minute, who cleared the ball back up the field.
