Chapter 264 - Chapter 258: Visiting The Moon

-----

The moon.

Who hasn't dreamed of stepping on its surface once in their life?

It is a wondrous astral object, the first one we see in our lives.

Through TV and many other things, we see the world, and people, talk about the Moon.

The Legendary Moon landing and other such things continued to amaze many people.

Even now in the age of technology, many people out there are still rather fascinated with it.

And despite it all, once you see it up close, you realize just…

How small it is!

"E-Eh? This is the moon? It's tiny!"

Orion was the first to complain as we rushed towards the natural satellite; compared to Earth, it was indeed much smaller.

But not that small, I think.

Right?

"We could just walk around it and get to the other side in like an hour!"

Rainbow Eyes let go of my Aura and jumped down to the moon first.

"Hey, not fair!"

Orion followed him right behind.

"You guys shouldn't just run off!"

Kalana then leaped forward.

"Mom, they're running to the moon!"

Athena complained.

"I know, I know, I saw them… As long as they don't destroy it, it's fine-"

RUMBLE!

"Huh?!"

I looked down at the moon, noticing a large crack through it and a bunch of debris flying off.

My rainbow eyes helped me see the surface.

There, Rainbow Eyes was standing over the stone, looking at me with a nervous smile.

"Hah…"

I sighed, facepalming.

"Let's go down."

We slowly descended as we regrouped with the kids.

"I'm sorry, Mom, I didn't mean to-"

"What did I tell you about controlling your powers, young man? We just talked about that a minute ago, didn't we?"

"I-I'm sorry…"

Rainbow Eyes sighed, lowering his head.

"Can't you fix it, son?"

Fiery Hair looked at him while crossing her arms.

As we descended, though, I had little time to admire my surroundings, a pity.

The rest of my family started walking around already; I noticed Peperina and Yanisse taking selfies together.

"I-I think so? But I don't know how…"

"Hm, this would be a good moment to teach you about the strength and abilities you've inherited from me. Aside from raw power and Heavenly Ki, there's the Dao and its Paths. I don't know if you inherited the Dao Comprehension, but it's worth giving it a try. Come on, let's go."

We walked towards the crack with most of my family, although a few remained behind admiring the view or playing around on the white sand…

Was it sand or just dirt? Well, it looks more like ash, I guess.

"Wow, it's deep!" Said Athena. "Rainbow Eyes, the Moon is even more fragile than Earth… You have to be careful next time!"

"Aaah, I know…" Groaned Rainbow Eyes.

"Now fix it!" Fiery Hair demanded.

"I-I don't know how…" Rainbow Eyes cried.

"Okay, look," I said. "Spread your hands and unleash your Aura."

"…"

FLASH!

Fiery Hair released his aura, resembling silver flames and golden and silver light mixing together.

Then, I told him to extend his arms forward and then think about the element of time.

"Time?"

"Yes, think about it."

"…"

He closed his eyes, imagining something related to the element of Time, as I had taught them.

He took a few minutes, but something within his Aura changed color.

FLUOSH!

The flames turned completely white, with silver, metallic-colored sparks.

Electricity of some sort could also be seen running through it.

But it wasn't of the element of thunder, but an electromagnetic reaction as our auras clashed with many internal elemental powers.

"I think I got it…"

He looked at me confused.

"You've grasped the power of Time quite well; I suppose you were already born with sufficient Dao Marks refined within your Soul," I nodded. "Alright, good! Then the next process is simply doing it. You'll use this technique."

I showed him how it was done, as I expanded a gray light from my hands into the crack and then waved my hands to the left, and the entire crack fixed itself.

FLAAASH!

"Wow, you fixed it, Mom!"

He was very happy, and the rest of my kids were amazed.

"Yeah, now you do it."

I nodded as I undid the entire process.

CRACK!

"Eh?!"

He was a bit surprised, yeah, but how else did he expect to fix the entire thing, though? He has to work on his own and learn to solve his own mistakes and take responsibility for them.

"I'll guide you."

I touched his shoulders as he looked at the crack and expanded his blazing aura over it.

"Now, you will use your powers to turn back time within this designated area. It's called {Time Reversal} or {Time Rewind}, I use it all the time. It works better when you target a specific thing within space and time rather than all of it, which is impossible even for me."

"O-Okay!"

He nodded timidly as he began using his powers. Suddenly, the image of clocks going in reverse materialized around his own silver flames.

Until everything began to rapidly close, and…

TRUUUM!

The crack was fixed.

"There! More than done, completely fine now," I nodded. "See? It wasn't that hard."

"Oooh! I did!" Rainbow Eyes celebrated.

As he looked amazed, I quickly patted his head.

"Rainbow Eyes…"

"E-Eh?"

And then he noticed I was still rather serious.

"My son, just because you've learned this technique DOES NOT mean that you can just do whatever you want and then fix it later, okay?" I said with a stern voice. "You will not abuse your powers to do whatever you please, understood?"

"Y-Yes…" He nodded. "I'll only use it on emergencies and… accidents!"

"Good, and you better keep that in mind, alright? Because I will not have any qualms sealing your power if I see you abusing it," I said with a gentle smile. "I love you; you're my dear son, but I must also take responsibility as your mother. If you end up doing bad things… you will be punished, grounded perhaps for a few years without any powers, living as an ordinary human. Fun, right?"

"I-It's not fun…" He groaned. "I'm very sorry, Mom. I won't do it again… I-I swear…"

"Okay, good, always make sure to control your strength, USE your Aura as I've always told you, and wrap it around your body so your strength and powers won't go flying out of your body. Our Auras are also mantles, veils to protect others from us," I explained. "Although they can also be used to suppress foes or expand our range of attack."

"I understand…" he sighed.

"Good if you understand then!" Fiery Hair nodded. "Now let's keep exploring! The sand is very soft, right?"

"Ah yeah…!" Rainbow Eyes nodded.

"Let's go then," I held his little hand.

With my family, we walked around the moon and visited many big craters.

This time, after the little reprimanding was over, we were able to finally admire the beauty of our surroundings.

The dark sky.

The stars.

And the Earth, which we could see from afar as a blue star of its own.

The white and gray-colored sand everywhere, the rocky spires, and the gigantic craters.

Each time we reached a new crater, we walked down to explore it for the sake of it, seeing just how deep they went.

The kids would slide down through them, throwing sand and dust everywhere.

It was a desolate place, of course, with no sign of life at all.

But there was something special about it, something that invited us into its dark caves.

"It sure is a unique trip… I never imagined I would be leisurely walking around the moon…" Yanisse said. "Gravity isn't a problem thanks to our Auras either. And we can even speak as if there was atmosphere and everything."

"Yeah, it's convenient, right?" I asked. "Hm, I've always wondered what's inside the moon, though. Is it completely empty inside, or does it have a core?"

"I've read it has a core!" Said Athena by my side.

"Yes, it has been well known that it has a core," nodded Merneith.

"Oh really? Is it hot?" Wondered Hekita.

"It is very hot; it's melting metal," said Merneith. "In my universe… Well, the moon was mined out of all its resources and left as an empty husk, though."

"That's… not nice," I said. "Well, I suppose we shouldn't stay here for longer; there are a few other places I want to visit too. Shall we depart?"

"Mom! I found a really deep crater!"

Suddenly, I heard the voice of Orion through our Aura connection.

"Oh, is that so?"

"Yeah, it leads underground! Can we explore it?"

"Hmm…"

For a moment I just considered moving to Mars, but…

"Sure!"

I just gave in to my own desires for once, and we joined Orion in the little expedition.

The crater was enormous, perhaps the size of several New York cities.

As we flew down, we noticed a massive hole in the middle that kept going down.

It branched into several cave sections, which we stepped into to explore.

Of course, it was totally dark down here, but with a spark of my light, everything was illuminated.

"It sure is empty around here, though…" Kalana complained, bored. "It's still just all rock and… Hm?"

As we walked down and looked around, mostly taking pictures of never-seen areas of the moon, she suddenly stopped talking.

"Kalana?"

I looked back at my daughter, noticing she was looking at something in a wall.

"What is it?"

I walked to her side with Mursha as we saw Kalana rubbing her chin, trying to read something.

"I don't know what it says there; can you read it?"

"Read it? There shouldn't be anything down here either way- Eh?"

However, there was a mural with alien letters imprinted on it.
