Astral Wings has reached Adept Tier.

Drawing on all of your most powerful affinities, you've recreated one of the great magics of your people, the Angels.

Create wings made of pure energy that grants flight, increased defense, control, speed, and greatly boost the effectiveness of all of your Angel Affinities by 100%.

Every subsequent win boosts effectiveness by another 30% until the limit. The current limit is 4.

Each Wing Costs 500 AE

Wings can be destroyed with enough force and can also be used to channel and enhance Angel's abilities.

My eyes fluttered open to the great expanse of space. My body thrummed, spasming as it was bathed in new energy and understanding. It was different from the first time Promethean body grew. This was more profound. More religious.

Demigod.

The words in Nether Fire's new description hung in the air like a silent beacon.

I was never human, but I always considered myself one, at least in spirit, but now…after my latest breakthroughs, that felt more of a lie than ever.

I summoned another fresh pair of clothes, replacing my old ones: a flowy shirt, loose pants, and boots.

Rebellion appeared in my grip, and my eyes searched the darkness and spotted her. Storm carved a streak through space, flying towards the moon. From there, she could recover and just had to survive reentry; the elements would handle the rest.

I couldn't let that happen. Space shrunk, and I reappeared in front of her in a blink. Her brows climbed to the very top of her pretty face before she retaliated; a streak of red lightning bounced off a wall of Nether fire I summoned with a thought.

There was a flash of surprise in her eyes that quickly gave way to hunger. I felt the shift in her energy as she reached out for my Fire. With a flex of my new manipulation skill and my growing control over fire, I swatted her hand away, shocking her.

Blood trickled down her nose, rapidly turning to Frost, and I felt her reach out for my blood. Before she could finish whatever she had planned, I struck, entering her mind.

"Sleep."

It was a single command. The spell collapsed immediately, but she still held on, barely.

I summoned Mind Cloak and nearly dropped Telepathy from the abrupt jump in power. Between the jump in stats, the growth in affinity, and reaching the master tier in energy manipulation, the 80% boost the skill offered felt more like a 500% boost.

It took the slightest shove to knock her out. A telekinetic barrier surrounded her, stopping her from drifting into space.

I summoned my wings, feeding the energy required into the skill. Four wings appeared instead of two. Each was solid enough to be completely opaque, functioning as practical extensions of my body.

I shut my eyes, and the skies of Kamar-Taj appeared in my mind's eyes. The world shifted, and we were suddenly floating above the mountains of Nepal.

My breath hitched.

It was in ruins.

The shields had fallen. The mountain stronghold was in tatters. More than half of the sorcerers were dead, and the X-men were battling alongside them for some reason, pushing back a behemoth of a Hydra that spat venom and darkness at them. Bobby and Scott stood in front, layering shields and holding back their breath, while Colossus was in the middle of a fistfight with an oversized Garok. And a few enhanced Sorcerers had returned, using portals, beams of Fire, and Frost spells to push back the tide of monsters.

Wolverine had dozens of mutated Rages on his heels, and Kitty was running interference for the ancient one while a pair of engorged Dragons bore down, their bodies covered in Cloaks of blood and Fire.

Yao had some Time spell slowing down one while Kitty flitted around its bulky body, shearing off flesh and bone with a pair of Vibranium short swords I made her. The sorcerer supreme battled the other with gusto, sending beams of Sanguine light that punched through its rapidly healing body and harrying it with floating spectral hands carrying axes.

The sight confused me for a microsecond. Yao was stronger than this–considerably. It was then I saw it–an open wound on her side.

She had it sealed with some eldritch spell, but the blood around the wound was stained a concerning shade of black.

I acted before I realized it. Aquila appeared in my hands, their blue light glowing like twin suns as I swung. Hundreds of blades poured out, each seeking out and attaching themselves to demons. They shrieked as one as the blades blurred, ripping flesh and spraying blood, but I wasn't done. With a flex of my Telekinesis and dimensional affinities, I yanked them all back to me, Dragon and Hydra included.

Aquila floated from my hands, settling above my shoulder as I summoned Kurogiri. I tapped into the precision and power runes in the blades and flooded them all with Dimensional energy. With a swift strike, I bisected all the approaching demons, then switched to Nether Fire. Their rapidly regenerating bodies detonated in an explosion that shook the sky and swept down to the land.

Most of the demons died, but the heavy hitters, the hydras, the mutated dragons, needed a more forceful touch. Aquila transformed to Eryx in my hands, and a cloak of fire settled on my body, intermingling with my mind.

My lips spread in a grin as I pulled back, mimicking an arrow, utilizing the construction aspect of my manipulation skill and taking advantage of the ridiculous fire affinity and density boosts the weapon gave me. An arrow, black as night, thicker than my entire torso, manifested between my hands. It cracked on the surface with carmine demonic energy, and the temperature around us spiked.

The vegetation below us disintegrated, and the earth blackened. Losing the arrow now could very well destroy the people I'm trying to help. So I hesitated, giving the demons the chance they needed to retaliate. They charged me as one, spewing Fire, acid, darkness, and whatever else they could manage, but I dodged it all with flaps of my wings. I led them out until Kamar-Taj was no larger than a pinprick and finally let go.

The arrow created an eclipse when it struck, bathing the sorcerer's stronghold and the surrounding towns of Nepal in darkness and heat. I pulled it all back with a flex of my will, drawing the Fire back, regaining most of my energy.
