Chapter 26 - R18: Tempted, Taken, True

Kain Adeyemi was every woman's fantasy made flesh—tall, dark, broad-shouldered, and devastatingly handsome. His jaw was sculpted like stone, his eyes sharp and mysterious, and his cologne—smooth sandalwood mixed with a hint of smoked oud—lingered in every space he passed through. He wore elegance like second skin, drove the latest model of an all-black Mercedes-Maybach with quiet power, and spoke with a confidence that made people listen.

Amanda, Naya's assistant, had noticed everything.

She had seen how Kain brought flowers for Naya, how he looked at her with a depth that made Amanda ache with envy. She noticed the way he rested his hand protectively on the small of Naya's back, how he smiled at her like she was a secret only he knew.

Amanda wanted to be looked at like that.

And now—with Naya locked in a board meeting for the next two hours—she saw her opening.

When Kain arrived at the office unannounced, waiting to surprise Naya, Amanda greeted him with her best practiced smile.

"You can wait in her office," she said sweetly. "Would you like some coffee?"

Kain hesitated. "I'm fine."

But Amanda gave a soft chuckle, stepping a little closer. "I promise, I make it better than the machine."

He nodded politely. "Alright, just a small cup."

He didn't see her slip the stimulant into the mug before walking in. He didn't notice the way her eyes lingered a little too long on his lips when she set the coffee down.

Amanda returned ten minutes later. The drug was working. Kain sat stiffly, his forehead slightly damp, his breath more shallow. The heat coursing through his blood was wrong—too fast, too sudden.

And Amanda knew it.

She stepped into the office and gently closed the door behind her.

Kain's eyes snapped up. "What are you doing?"

Amanda didn't answer. She started unbuttoning her blouse, revealing smooth, bare skin and a lacy red bra. Her hips swayed slightly as she approached.

"I know what you want," she whispered. "We can keep it quick. Just a taste."

He stood, rage rising faster than the drug's effect.

"Get out," he snarled.

Amanda froze.

"I said GET OUT!" he roared, his fists clenched so tightly the veins in his arms bulged.

Her face drained of color. She grabbed her blouse and bolted from the room.

Shaking, Kain pulled out his phone.

Come back to your office as soon as you can. Urgently, he texted Naya.

---

Naya was in the middle of briefing the board on a new relationship therapy model when her phone buzzed. She glanced down, reading the message once.

Her stomach dropped.

"I'm sorry," she said, placing the folder on the table. "I need to excuse myself. It's urgent."

After handing off final notes and closing statements, she left the room with her heart pounding.

When she walked into her office, Kain was pacing. His shirt was half-unbuttoned, and beads of sweat clung to his forehead. His eyes locked onto hers, dark, desperate, and full of heat.

"Naya," he breathed, voice thick with restraint. "Something's wrong. I think… I think I was drugged."

Before she could speak, he pulled her into his arms and kissed her. It was a fevered, hungry kiss—one that made her gasp. His lips were demanding, his hands gripping her waist like he needed her to breathe.

Her back hit the door as he locked it behind her. His hands slid under her blazer, peeling it off in a rush.

"Kain—"

"I need you," he groaned, his lips trailing down her neck. "Only you. You're the only thing keeping me grounded."

His mouth found hers again, deeper this time. Her fingers tangled in his hair, their breaths syncing in erratic bursts. He picked her up with ease and set her down on her desk.

Naya could feel his desperation, but beneath it was something tender—an aching need only she could soothe. His fingers found the zipper of her dress and pulled it down, revealing her lace-covered curves. She wrapped her legs around him, drawing him closer.

Kain's mouth moved to her chest, kissing down the swell of her breasts. She gasped, arching into him, his touch igniting every nerve ending. Her skin burned under his lips.

"Naya," he murmured, as if saying her name grounded him. "I thought I was going to lose control."

"You won't," she whispered. "I'm here."

They moved together with urgency, clothes falling away between kisses and caresses. His hands explored her body like he was memorizing every inch, grounding himself in her warmth.

When he finally entered her, it wasn't just lust—it was release, redemption. His rhythm was deep and slow at first, like he was savoring the connection. She clung to him, her moans muffled against his shoulder as he thrust into her with growing urgency.

Their bodies spoke in a language only they understood—every gasp, every movement in perfect sync. He kissed her everywhere—her neck, her jaw, the inside of her wrist.

"I love you," he whispered, voice raw.

She nodded, tears in her eyes. "I know."

Their climax hit like a wave, shuddering and silent, leaving them breathless and wrapped around each other on the floor of her office, tangled in clothing and emotion.

Afterward, Kain held her tightly, his heart finally slowing. The drug's effects had faded, but what remained was something stronger.

Loyalty. Love. Trust.

"I'm sorry," he whispered. "I didn't see it coming. She tried—she almost…"

"But she didn't," Naya said, cupping his face. "You didn't let her."

And that was all she needed to know.

They lay there for a moment longer, the chaos outside forgotten. It didn't matter who tried to break them. They had each other. And in that moment, that was enough.
