Sun Qing was of a delicate disposition, not as thick-skinned as Ai Lun, nor as straightforward and simple as Zhui Ming. She chose a time when only the two of them were strolling in the garden to ask her quietly.
"What's been going on with you these past few days? You don't look so well. Is it a severe pregnancy reaction?"
Zhan Se gave her a slight smile, struggling to mask the anxiety in her heart.
"It's nothing, I'm just worried about my dad."
Unlike Zhan Se, who grew up with a lack of familial love, Sun Qing's family, though not wealthy, was complete with parents, and she was raised in a warm, loving environment. She didn't feel as deeply attached to her parents as Zhan Se did. Nevertheless, seeing Zhan Se's face, which no amount of nourishing could plump, she still couldn't help but feel compassion.
