Bloodsheds have taken the whole area of Philceb, as darkness remains the hunters thrive to spread the apocalypse.
Hunters who are the first immigrants who infected almost half of the country's citizens upon arrival.
They have sharp senses and fast movements during Nightime. Nobody knows where can they possibly found during daytime however, concluded it hides among the Herds.
Herds are the infected people who turned as zombies who are known in books and movies. The only difference is their red eyes which was theoried as controlled by unknown species after the meteor showers.
The hierarchy continued to grow as 3 years had passed after the epidemic. Which builds the four factions who balanced the new era of civilization.
"We are now part of the new era which is also highest among living individuals who breakthrough the limits of homo sapiens. We who are are part of the Magnifiers are known for our high intellegence and uniqueness from any humans who existed. Despite of having the gifted among individuals we are threaten by this intelligence due to our fragile cores. This threat to our kinds lead us to collaborate on the other Factions. We may not be the strongest but without our brains this whole country has no longer possibility to be saved. May this training season raise a new individuals who will be a new addition to our frontiers. Thank you and Goodluck fellow Alters!"
The new recruits stood up and cheered for the Leader of Magnifiers Faction, Mr. Ren Harolds who excels academics and one of the highly respected researcher existing after the Apocalypse.
He was one of the volunteer instructor in Welbridge University before the Apocalypse started. Dark circles are showing below his eyes yet his charismatic aura is barely touched by this flaw. He is known for his sharp observation skill that no lies nor acts hide from his eyes.
His assistant Lenon followed him behind as he explained the next meeting he is about to attend.
"We are done at the training ground, next will be a conference meeting with the Elders- sir?" Lenon asked as he noticed Ren's sudden stop near the virtual room.
A man wearing white training suit flaunts his slender body perfectly and gracefully as he dodge every artificial robot's attacks. His tied silver hair flew with like a wind as he did a double back flipped. Smoothly as he moves, dangerous as it goes with his severe attack on slicing the robots throat like its nothing.
Ren knocked on the door which caught Enji's attention, he took off the eye blinders and smiled as he walk towards Ren.
"Don't tell me you watch the whole stunt behind the door." Enji rolled his eyes on Ren's unexpected presence.
"I think there is a misunderstanding, Mr. Brahms." Ren replied in amusement.
"What could it be Mister-know-it-all?" Enji raised his left brow as he replied to his reaction.
"I think you deserve the title of Keen eyes Mr. Harolds." Ren said with a meaningful look and messed his hair.
"Oh shut up! Just give me a kiss." Enji said and pulled his face.
"I miss you." He added as he gropped his face after their warm greetings.
Ren smiled softly and hugged him tightly on his arms. "I miss you too Enj."
A low cough made them release from being cuddly, it was Lennon who was completely forgotten by the two.
"If you'll excuse me I need to drag this man to the conference room Mr. Brahms." Lennon sighed in exhaustion.
"I think you should." Enji smiled apolegitically to Lennon and gaved him a comforting smile.
"Stop that." Ren warned him.
"What did I do?" Enji asked innocently.
"That deceiving look making my subordinates in chaos." Ren said in a serious voice.
"I concede defeat, I'll wait for you in our flat honey." Enji replied giving him the seductive look.
"Enji Brahms!" Ren exclaimed but before he could point Enji already waved running away from them laughing.
"If somebody heard this whole conversation without knowing they might think the two of you are indeed married." Lennon said as they continued to head on the Conference Room.
"I am certainly asking his hand on marriage Lennon for petes sake thats my beloved fiancé." Ren answered without hesitation.
"Right." Lennon laugh as Ren walks ahead of him, one thing does he knew since working on Ren was his obvious feelings towards his beloved Enji Brahms.
The new trial troops who are currently leaded by Enji Brahms the Vice Captain of the Magnifiers Frontiers (MF). He was supposedly the Captain of the Frontiers but he decline the offer to avoid suspicion of assistance from his beloved Ren. Despite of his passion there is no question for the certain offer because there are no other capable Andro Species who can fight on battles like him.
The Tactician and rarest Magnifiers who weild with his brains and swords.
To avoid Andro's fragile jewel to be taken Enji was offered as the secondhand-in-command for his safety. Afterall, every faction is in greed to have their hands on Enji by hook or crook for his genes.
"Listen up Alters! This is your first mission before becoming a liscensed Magnifiers. Used all the means to survive you have brains and that is what we are known for. Used it from your hearts content I expect a high result after the task. We are heading now on the abandoned city of Ceb. You have 24 hours duration to waste, Alters who remained alive after the given time are considered passed!" Enji explained and signed the gate intells to open the gate.
There are only 20 students during the trial training and they already expected 2-3 surviving students after the trial. The reason for this test is to know who have the highest intelligence during at risk. Booksmart and Reality Smart are two different level if you are walking the path of a Magnifiers.
In other words the best qualities are only accepted as a Magnifiers. The rest are considered failures which is a sad reality to face by those who failed. They either die or become one of the herds this is the new era of civilization and all of the possibilities does exist.
"How's the parameters?" Enji asked.
"Its quiet for a while no sign of Hunters but its to early to conclude." Glide reported.
"I see. Assign some intells on different area away from the location just in case." Enji said and took out his two swords.
"Where are you going?" Glide asked neglecting his orders.
"I'll just check the grounds to be sure the alarm will automaticly triggered if any high levels will try to intrude." Enji replied and left.
It was too late for Glide to react and proceed to give the orders on the 9th Intells.
"What time is it?" Cade asked.
"Its almost 7pm." Kathy answered.
"Let's go to the-"
A sound of the alarm took there attention, the students started to feel anxious as the alarm continued to be louder than ever.
"I never been outside but do you guys hear what I've been hearing?" Jack asked.
They felt a strong steps coming from a certain group who are currently residing on the other side of the building.
"What in a world."
A loud shattering sound of breaking glasses that takes over the group of student unexpectedly. Their eyes widened seeing how they were devoured upon pushing from the high floor.
"H-herds." Ranz paled upon uttering those words.
"This isn't the kind of Herds I've read on the books." Jack exclaimed in frustration.
"We need to get out of here-"
"Too late." Cade replied pointing at the other side.
A slim type of zombie whose eyes are pure blind but their way of thinking is unpredictable and messed up. This are what they called Seekers a 5th level of Hunter's branch.
"Ran into the boarders!" Kathy Shouted.
"A seeker won't wonder without its mate! Look for the tentacles on the grounds!" Cade said and ran on every canal they passed.
Kathy used her specialized flying rafts to locate the Seekers mate. Meanwhile, Cade tried to distract the Seeker's attention by his echo speakers.
Its pointless. He thought.
His speakers are only a distraction, it could not hold a messed up monster who does whatever he wants.
"I need to fight."
He took out his laser blade and gulped a few times to fix his confidence. A seeker is the unpredictable therefore, the only way to deal with it is follow the way it thinks.
He ran without a though and tried to hit it in the shoulder. His blade struck its hand but immediately sneaks an attack towards him.
"Heck, I almost got hit!" He exclaimed as he hide on the back. He was too focused on the Seeker when he suddenly heard a squeaking sound.
Cade froze on his position as he heard the loud scream, he hoped he was hearing things but its not the case.
A sudden hand grabbed his wrist made him dumbfounded, silver tied hair and a pair of swords made him gasped.
"I noticed your potential but this is no longer a training ground, that sound is an intruder from the boarders. I'm afraid they might get their hands on a gem like you." Enji explained as they continued to run outside the boarders.
"What about the others sir?" Cade asked in a worried voice.
He whistled as they reached on the boarders but nobody reacted, his grip tightened on Cade's wrist.
"Slaughtered." Enji answered in a serious voice and pushed him on the other side of the road.
Cade fliched in pain by Enji's strength, before he could blink the Vice Captain of the Frontiers is already in front of him bleeding in the arm.
"Cade, now!" Enji's shout made him back to his senses, he took out the flash bomb and throw it.
Enji grabbed his arm and pulled him away, it was too dangerous if he continued to fight it. One of them might be caught and he couldn't dare to risk it.
"S-sir Enji." Cade's voice stuttered on fear.
"Let's just run." Enji said without looking back.
They encounter a few herd but Enji managed to cut their heads off despite of the conflict.
They arrived on the Wilbridge University, its been so long since he took a step on his old school. Memories of being a human flashed on his head, he felt his hands becoming colder as they succesfully sneak inside.
"Don't talk." Enji warned him.
Cade nodded as they walk inside the building, Enji signed him to stay on the stairs without a word.
"Ren pick up the phone!" He whispered as he anxiously walk back and forth.
His on the verge of panic attacks yet he manage to control it by letting the enemy hit earlier.
Black mask, the only thing he can think of are Slayers. It seems like the government and Casers are starting to make a move to take him. He should've stayed earlier but he couldn't due to his instinct he knew there is something wrong.
"Cade Williams, I think he has a potential on becoming a Magnifiers." Those are Ren's last message he received on his phone before the signal died.
He sighed and turned towards Cade, his phone fell from his hands as he saw an enormous aura behind the kid's back.
He was too shock to move an inch, he tried to hit his chest to fix his composure but he barely breathes an air coming from outside.
Enji fell on his knees as he felt his conciousness barely stood. A bursting sound splashed towards them leaving Cade frozen on the spot.
"Enji Brahms?" Those words echoed on his ears as he slowly felt the darkness eating him.
A pair of red eyes were on the shadow staring at him intently and suspiciously. He would never forget the way Van Winters look at him in despise.
