Xia Dabao and her companions were accommodated in the Imperial Palace of Li City, where they were treated to delicious food and drink for two days. The palace maids attended to them diligently, fulfilling every request. Whatever Lady Dabao wanted, the Witch King provided, including summoning several witch doctors from within the palace to help Yun Xiao recover.
And so, Yun Xiao's health gradually improved.
But Dabao was acutely aware that such hospitable treatment meant that the Witch King would surely set conditions.
Sure enough, it wasn't long before the Witch King came over with a very courteous demeanor, "Lady Dabao, have you found your stay here satisfactory these past two days?"
"Very satisfactory indeed—I've lost count of how many pig livers I've eaten," Dabao replied.
"As long as you're satisfied, I was worried you wouldn't be, hahaha."
