Owen Moreland stood with one hand in his pocket, and the other hanging casually by his side, thumb caressing his index finger. He spoke, "When the test results come out, tell me first."
It meant not to tell anyone else.
The doctor understood and respectfully replied, "Okay."
When Owen Moreland returned to the outside of the consultation room, Emily Collins was being wheeled out, apparently having suffered from the examination as her complexion looked even worse than it had that morning.
"Grandma..." Amelia Clarke stepped forward to hold the old lady's hand, her eyes red with emotion.
Emily Collins clasped Amelia's hand and said, "Good child, don't cry, I'm fine."
The doctor suggested that Emily Collins be hospitalized for a few days for observation, to prevent any subsequent issues.
Amelia stayed by Emily Collins's side, and when the old lady's stomach discomfort eased a bit, she served her some porridge and small dishes brought from home.
