Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 I Want to See Your Director

"Police, I want to accuse him of attempted murder."

Nia Mitchell yelled!

Everything Hendry Hampton did had made it clear. The force he used to strangle her just now was obviously intended to take her life.

The police officer looked Nia Mitchell up and down. She was dressed plainly and clearly had no powerful backing. Then, his gaze shifted to Hendry Hampton, and he frowned slightly.

"Mr. Hampton? What are you doing here?"

The policeman approached Hendry Hampton with a fawning smile, quickly dispersing the helpful guests who had initially restrained Hendry.

Hendry, freed, flexed his arm and wiped the coffee from his face.

What happened at the Hampton Corporation hadn't leaked out yet. Otherwise, how could such sycophantic people still speak to him so subserviently?

"This wretch dared to attack me! You know what to do, right?"

Hendry pointed at Nia, who was standing to the side. This time, she definitely won't escape. I'll make her suffer the consequences.

"What? You dared to attack Mr. Hampton?!"

The police officer, taken aback, shouted, then glared angrily at Nia Mitchell.

The patrons in the café exchanged glances. Those who navigated the circles of Capital Town generally had some discernment; they naturally realized Hendry Hampton was not someone to be trifled with.

Consequently, everyone chose to remain silent, leaving Nia Mitchell standing there, falsely accused.

"I attacked him? Open your eyes and look! Does it look like it?"

She stood there, disheveled and pale, a bright red mark on her neck.

The police officer looked at the surrounding customers with an air of feigned righteousness.

"Everyone here should have seen clearly. Can anyone tell me what happened?"

The crowd exchanged glances and quickly left the café. They knew they couldn't afford to offend him, so they chose to steer clear.

"Miss, please come with us."

「Capital Town Police Station」

Nia Mitchell sighed. The past twenty years of her life combined didn't come close to the richness and excitement of these past two days.

Last night's engagement fell through. This morning, she was directly issued a marriage certificate. The groom was some strange older man who casually cut off people's fingers. Plus, this was her second time in the Police Station in less than twelve hours.

Such experiences could inspire a ten-thousand-word romance novel in minutes.

"Nia Mitchell, why did you attack Mr. Hampton?"

Nia Mitchell looked at the police officer sitting opposite her and scoffed inwardly.

"I want to accuse Hendry Hampton of attempted murder! I'm injured! I need to go to the Hospital."

"Miss Mitchell, please cooperate with our work."

Nia Mitchell took a deep breath. Outside, Hendry Hampton sat like a lord, drinking tea, which made her even more indignant.

Suddenly, a ringtone echoed through the entire Office Room. Nia Mitchell immediately pulled out her phone.

Maxwell Peary?

Just as she was about to answer, the policeman opposite her suddenly snatched her cell phone and said, "I'm sorry, Miss Mitchell. You can't answer your phone until the investigation is complete."

The police officer glanced at her phone. Maxwell Peary? He seemed slightly puzzled but hung up directly.

Last night, a big shot had arrived at the Police Station, and even the chief had been bowing and scraping. It seemed that man's name was Maxwell Peary...

"Why can't I answer my phone?" Nia Mitchell interrupted his recollection.

"I'm sorry, it's the regulations," he replied.

Just then, the cell phone rang again. Nia Mitchell watched as the officer swiftly hung up and turned off her phone.

The incoming call reminded Nia Mitchell. The station chief's attitude towards Uncle Peary last night had been extremely respectful. Moreover, the station chief had personally witnessed Uncle Peary taking her away from here. So, the station chief must still recognize her.

"I want to see your station chief!"
