Chapter 57 - 049: Evil Deity pt.1

The grotesque sight disturbed everyone.

Some who were planning to follow the calligraphy man's example before were even more horrified, thinking that the calligraphy man's current situation could've been theirs if it weren't for the little hesitation in their hearts that luckily saved them.

Who would have the will to live after being skinned alive and having both lower limbs torn off and eaten cruelly by a monster?

I'm afraid the people who can stay sane in such excruciating physical pain and mental torture are either a person with a strong will or a madman.

Obviously, the calligraphy man has already lost his sanity, judging from his cloudy eyes that keep changing between from conscious pain to unwilling madness.

No one knows what's going on in his head. Everyone just thought in his heart that he had no one to blame for his current plight. Who asked him to be a deserter while everyone is risking their lives for a higher chance of survival?

Zemirah didn't even have the time to retch at the horrible sight as she focused her eyes on the enemy slowly walking in their direction. Each step seemed to drum heavily in their hearts, so loud it was aching. Everyone knew the monster walking towards them was the one summoned from the evil sacrificial formation.

Those Evil Cultivators succeeded in summoning their Evil Deity, now they are in trouble. What's more troublesome is that if their group had more casualties, the enemy's power would continue to rise.

Her mind immediately grasped the idea of killing the scattered evil cultivators quickly before that Evil Entity arrived. Otherwise, facing a great enemy and being distracted by these evil cultivators may drag them faster to ruin.

She dared not hesitate and took out the higher-quality talisman with more lethality to start attacking. Her actions made other cultivators come back to their senses and understand her meaning.

What made people speechless is that these cultivators took different actions without any unity in the face of looming death. Some fought back, fighting with their lives, not caring about injuries to kill the enemy, while others actually escaped directly regardless of consequences. They probably thought that as long as they took a different direction from that Evil Deity, they would have a chance to leave alive.

Zemirah did not bother looking for those deserters as she activated the talisman in her hand. A precious [Ice Sword Hail Talisman] late-stage grade 2 talisman that is comparable to an attack of a Foundation Building Realm cultivator immediately wiped away the group of Evil Cultivators fighting with Simon and his group.

It was because they were fighting near her, and their plight was perilous. Besides that, Simon and his Iron Armor Beast left her a good impression, plus she has a favorable impression of Art Cultivators specializing in the flute instrument because of a certain person.

When she saw Simon's precarious situation where he can only barely hold his flute and his Iron Armor Beast that never dared step back to protect the master and his ground behind, Zemirah thought that helping them was worth it.

Before she left to fight and help other cultivators, she did not forget to gift some talismans she drew. Then she heard the system's mechanical voice that made her feel secure.

[Ding! Congratulations to the Host for triggering 3 fold-back and rewarded with a Rare-Quality Peak-Stage Grade 1 Talisman, Cold Arrow Talisman]

[Ding! Congratulations to the Host for triggering 5 fold-back and rewarded with a Rare-Quality Peak-Stage Grade 1 Talisman, Fiery Snake Talisman]

[Ding! Congratulations to the Host for triggering 2 fold-back and rewarded with a Rare-Quality Peak-Stage Grade 1 Talisman, Crystal Wall Talisman]

[Ding! Congratulations to the Host for triggering 9 fold-back and rewarded with a Rare-Quality Peak-Stage Grade 1 Talisman, Green Glow Talisman]

Zemirah got back talismans of higher quality, not higher grade, since they are just her acquaintance, barely friends, so the trigger requirements for higher fold back were not met.

Anyway, for Zemirah, she would not be at any disadvantage. It just depends on whether she got something better or best from her gifts.

She heard their words of thanks but did not stop her movements as she quickly activated other Grade 1 talismans to attack the scattered evil cultivators, bringing considerable injuries from the sneak attack. The people she helped did not waste the opportunity and killed their enemy.

Heads whose eyes already lack sanity rolled on the ground, wetted by crimson liquid, bloody smell permeated the nose.

Zemirah did not know how many talismans she used, she only knew that the stacks of talismans she saved in her storage ring were gone, along with the lives of evil cultivators.

A woman dressed in light pink robes with her face covered by a veil, revealing only her charming eyes showing determination and murderous intent. Her right hand tightly held a thin sword like a butterfly, and her left hand held a talisman, ready to activate it at any moment.

What made people amaze is that despite the surroundings full of bloodiness, her figure was not stained by a drop of blood.

She was not the only one who shone on the battlefield, but she was the most dazzling one.

Zemirah has her attention on attacking in front, temporarily forgetting the safety behind. Of course, those evil cultivator who had long noticed her importance and lethality in the battle had set their eyes on her. This rare opportunity was not to be missed, so a sneaky figure blurred by a shadow rushed to her with bloody claws.

No one knows whether the claws are an artifact or a part of that person's body. It was too late for Zemirah to dodge the sneak attack, and she was ready for a defensive artifact on her body to activate under attack,k yet she was surprised to see another person intercepting the blow for her.

The girl whose hair was tied by a red ribbon used her short dagger against the bloody claw. Zemirah watched her small cherry lips open and said, "You saved earlier, now we're even."

The situation in front of her made Zemirah's thoughts go blank for a while before the corner of her lips lifted in a good mood. She spoke to the younger girl who was obviously waiting for her next words while busy fighting, "Fight together? Back to back?"

Zemirah did not hide her trust in entrusting her back to the girl after what happened.

The girl was stunned for a moment, her eyes flickering with unknown emotions to others before blinking twice to hide it, and she showed a rare sweet smile, saying, "Okay!"
