"Mikhael, can I count on you to do the 'enchantment' again?"
"No problem!" Mikhael took it with a hearty laugh and said, "This is exactly what I want to do!"
He picked up the hammer and used the 'Ultimate Forging' and 'Enchanting Runes' to inscribe 'Wind Elemental Runes' onto the inverted cross necklace.
The 'enchantment' process quickly finished.
Shizuku got the necklace back and, like Menchi, casually tested it out. A gust of wind immediately blew up the hem of Bisky's skirt.
"Wow—Shizuku, you did that on purpose, didn't you?"
Thankfully, Bisky pressed her hands down on the edge of her skirt, striking a classic pose like Marilyn Monroe to avoid any mishap. She shot Shizuku a teasing look.
Shizuku, however, seemed as though she had just received a new toy. She kept using the inverted cross necklace to blow wind at everyone, only stopping when Germain spoke, and slowly putting the necklace away.
This scene left both Scela and Kioris feeling a bit envious.
Their weapons didn't have the "Alchemy Plant Elemental Runes," but they could still be "enchanted."
Kioris's "Moonlit Bloodblade" used "Blood Element Enchantment," which was outside the scope of the "Alchemy Plant Elemental Runes," allowing it to bypass "Vows and Limitations."
"Blood Element Enchantment" was decent, but it was far weaker compared to the power of "Alchemy Plant Elemental Runes."
Scela, as the most courageous warrior of the tribe, was undoubtedly meticulous about perfecting his weapon.
Ging was the first to communicate with these two brothers and was the one who understood them best among the humans. He quickly realized why their gazes were so intense.
After a brief discussion with Germain, Bisky, and the others, Ging proposed a deal to Scela and Kioris.
"We need to establish a castle base in the ancient labyrinth, which will help facilitate our future exchanges. But building the castle requires manpower."
"We can give you two Alchemy Plants, which will allow your weapons to be enchanted as well."
"But you know that Alchemy Plants are rare. We can't just give them to you without conditions."
"So, the deal is this: you will contribute to the construction of the castle in the ancient labyrinth. What do you think? Do we have a deal?"
When Ging finished speaking, he suddenly felt that maybe, one or two hundred years ago, someone named Don had used the same tone and expression to begin a trade with the ancestors of the moose centaur tribe.
The trading items might have been "Herb for All-illnesses" and "Alchemy Plants"...
Scela and Kioris exchanged a glance. As warriors, they didn't hesitate long. They pounded their chests and cheerfully agreed.
In 1999, it quietly arrived without any notice. If it weren't for recalling events from the Six Continents, no one would have realized that the new year had already arrived.
This was also because during this time, they commonly used the Dark Continent calendar, or what you might call the New World calendar, which led to some discrepancies in their sense of time.
But regardless, the first year of what was theoretically the story of the professional Hunter exam began.
A somewhat large group left the Moose Centaur Tribe and headed towards the Ancient Labyrinth.
"The professional Hunter exam… it's about to start, right?"
On the way back to the Ancient Labyrinth, Menchi couldn't help but caress the "Fire Elemental Patterns" on her twin swords, showing an almost affectionate expression.
She fiddled with her newly "enchanted" swords while casually mentioning it.
Buhara, rubbing his large belly, looked like he was carrying a heavy load as he wobbled along. He responded to his partner.
"Yeah, it's about time… Back around this time last year, we were still fighting to become the examiners for this year's Hunter exam. Now, look at us… it's unbelievable."
Menchi reluctantly sheathed her twin swords back into the leather pouch, which hung on her slender waist.
"Buhara, this is what they call 'the unpredictability of life.' Becoming an examiner for the professional Hunter exam is definitely a worthy position, but... as expected, the Dark Continent still calls to us more."
She suddenly seemed to remember something, turning her head to the side, her five braided pigtails swaying.
"Ging, Bisky, Sanbica, have any of you ever been examiners for the professional Hunter exam? What was it like? Tell me about it."
Ging, wearing the beastskin hat from the Moose Centaur Tribe, waved his hand.
"Netero called me to be an examiner, but I declined. With the time I'd need to deal with those kids, I'd rather do something else."
In fact, the examiners for the Hunter Exam also include those who teach the applicants how to use Nen, which is the final stage of the exam.
However, Kite, being a disciple of Ging from the slums, had already learned Nen before taking the Hunter Exam.
So, Ging never actually became a Hunter Exam examiner, and he personally didn't like that kind of troublesome task.
This was the expected answer, and no one was surprised by Ging's response.
His blonde hair, now a little longer than Bisky's, was slightly messy as he hummed.
"Well, Ging, that's not right. As an experienced Hunter, it's one of the Hunter Association's goals to choose suitable people to become future Hunters."
"Becoming a Hunter Exam examiner is also one of the '100 things a professional Hunter must do in their lifetime.'"
"I've already completed those 100 things, including being a Hunter Exam examiner... Thinking about it, I kind of miss it. I'd love to do it again."
"Yeah, yeah." Ging turned his head and started digging his ear with his pinky. "We all know you're old and experienced, you've been through everything."
Bisky's face darkened, and she rolled up her sleeves, heading towards Ging.
"Huh? Ging, is this your last words?"
Ging noticed Bisky coming towards him and instinctively held onto his hat, running away.
"Hey, hey, hey, wait, you're coming again!"
"I'm coming! Let you feel the punch of a woman who's 'old, experienced, and has been through everything!'"
Menchi and Buhara watched Bisky chase after Ging without a care, then both turned their gaze to Sanbica.
This has become a daily routine; after all, everything will be fine in the end.
