The sudden sound of an argument came through, and Jane silently turned the cartoon volume to the lowest setting.
To be precise, it wasn't really an argument; it was just a girl with glasses complaining to another girl, while two other guys in the office acted as mediators, trying to calm things down with their words.
Maybe it was because Allen Rivera could come back at any time, or perhaps they were worried that Jane would hear, their voices weren't loud, but it was enough for Jane to understand the whole story.
